Good Morning. 19° and overcast. Winter Storm Advisory for a wintry mix today into tomorrow. Sounds gruesome, almost like Karl's photo of a Bernie Paul "exclusive designer foobie" 4-6-2. Remember that the B&O painted some of their "P" class 4-6-2s blue on purpose, so B&O followers level of tolerance is generally higher, than among the Pennsy faithful.
Milw 113: Nice shot of the Westbound "Coaster" leaving South Amboy behind a K4.
I am up surprisingly early considering I tried to watch both games on HNIC last night, but gave up after the second intermission of the second game. Toronto is suddenly a really bad, demoralized team. The Habs look good, C. Price is an awesome goalie.
Good morning. We're having freezing rain, it's 29, and I woke up with a killer migraine. I've been up for a while, and it doesn't seem to be getting any better, so I think I'm going to go find someplace dark and quiet, and wait it out.
Got lots of stuff to throw on eBay today, O, HO & HOn3. Books, locos, rolling stock, videos, etc. Should keep me busy for awhile. Then I have other choo choos to work on too, ones I can even get paid for!
Sorry about the blue loco pic last night, hopefully all eyes have recovered this morning!
I got hold of my friend last night, so today I need to find the boxes, clean the dust off, test them, and take photos for the Ebay adventure. If we go to the science center I will do it tomorrow.
WOW. I started reading the posts here and suddenly I felt like I was in a topsy-turvey evil twilight zone type dimension (I like Sci Fi). Thankfully MILW113 restored sanity and reality is back to normal.
It's supposed to rain again today but tomorrow is supposed to be dry and 80 F. Wednesday should be in the mid 80's. Nooooooo....Too soon...........................

Terry I hope your headache feels better soon. My oldest daughter use to suffer with migraines. The worst part is nobody knows how or where they come from. One doctor said "no coffee" another doctor suggested caffeine. Another doctor suggested exercise and other doctor recommended rest. My daughters migraines just stopped one day and have not returned, no thanks to the doctors, but thank God. I hope yours just go away as well Terry.
Had a bad headache here the other night. Not often I'm found asleep by 10pm on a Friday night. Just a minor headache now that I can easily tolerate.
The floodloader construction is coming along but very slowly. I find the cement I'm using makes me nauseous after just a part or two.
The directions are somewhat thin on details so I find myself looking at them several times before attempting to fit a piece. Just this morning I had a brace put which seemed to sever no purpose I would have been completely out of sight. The it occurred to me it should go on the bottom of the floor instead of on top. Now it makes sense and I was able to fix it before it had setup too much.
In any event, the super-structure is almost done now. I did the right thing by going slow with it.
Cloudy and mid-40s here today. 50% per rain tonight and tomorrow.

When I have one of these headaches, it usually takes a while to completely go away. I feel better now, though not great. I managed a little train time this afternoon, so it wasn`t a complete waste of a day off. One thing I learned, when I have one of these, is any kind of turbocharger whine or whistle seems to send that whistle straight through my ears. Turbo EMDs and Alco 539s seem to be the worst. So, it was an Alco 251 kind of day.
I don't know if anybody else here has any of the new Bowser 6 axle Centuries, but the motors in them leave something to be desired as far as pulling power. I repowered one of them as an experiment, using a motor out of an Atlas/Kato RS3. The results were very good, and I took a video of it pulling a 25 car train upgrade on my home layout: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlinitvSZ00
Decided not to go to the club today because it has been raining all day and I don't run my trains when it is raining. In FL there is always the chance of lightning and I don't want to fry expensive electronics by a chance strike.
Say Curt, and others concerned about protecting electronic equipment from even a Direct Lightening Strike as well as Voltage Spikes!
I've also operated a small computer supply business for many years and had, APC American Power Conversion, Surge protectors as well as their Uninterruptible Power supplies available. These are Top Rated units and come with a $10,000.00 guarantee, I believe it is, against damage damage to all properly connected equipment.
I've had a personal experience where lighting struck the phone line at my place and my computer and other equipment plugged into an APC Surge Arrest unit, about six feet from the wall phone jack suffered No Damage. Yet I had another phone line also connected to the same phone jack that was probably about 35 ft way and it fried the Spike suppressor in it!
APC Products are the best you can get! Get a Surge Arrest or an Uninterruptible power supply and rest easy about connected equipment. To test their Uninterruptible power supplies you plug your equipment into it and get your computer and monitor going and then pull the main power cord out of the wall. The APC Unit will instantaneously take over without any loss of data or interruption. I've done that too!
