Looks like you guys on the east coast are warming up. Get out the shorts. Started off today at 38 degrees expected to be in the mid 60's today. Got up to 67 yesterday.

Here's my morning picture. This little home built unit is what the Milwaukee road used to get their electruc locomotives out of the roundhouse in Deer Lodge, MT. It's powered with an extension cord.
It is currently on display at the Milwaukee Road museum in Harlowtown, MT.

Terry I hope that you are doing ok. As Karl said earlier the memories of your brother will soon turn to thoughts of happy days. The memories of the events of the last few weeks will be over shadowed by the many years of good memories.

When my sister passed away I was not at all happy with how the final arrangements were carried out, but now that some time has passed I no longer dwell on the final days. Now I remember all the many years filled with great memories and no matter how the final arrangements we handled, my faith assures me she is with God. I believe good people are never forsaken, regardless of any circumstances.

113 the spirit of your thoughts is comforting to Terry I am sure.

Ken be thankful the heat was working during those days of single digit temperatures. I hope that they can get it fixed for you quickly.

Montanan, shorts!? no shorts for me until the temperatures hit at least the mid-80s! Thanks for all the great pictures and the informative posts! Extension cord, how about that? if that is not a "get'er done" deal I don't know what is, I like that! Do you know what the power source was? Very interesting stuff!

I will have to admit that those guys working for the Milwaukee Road went far and above to get things done. Here's the little guy at the museum in Harlowtown. I can remember seeing it at work in Deer Lodge. I had relatives working out of the Deer Lodge facility and was amazed when I saw that tiny, in comparison to a Little Joe or box cab drag them in and out of the roundhouse.

Yes, my cousins and I are still planning on something. They are as unhappy with how this is going as I am, and we are simply going to do an end run around the nephew.

There is no "end run". Screw him. You all can have all the parties/wakes you want on anyone's behalf and simply don't invite him.
Better yet, let him know and also let him know his presence will not be welcomed nor tolerated and will be arrested.
Be sure you hold it on someone's private property so at least he can be had for trespass.

Just my thoughts.
E.

Going to check out early today and take a trip over to Butte. Have to check in on TapTalk I guess.

Should have posted this a couple of weeks ago.

Assuming this all happened in Georgia, you should contact the appropriate Probate Court to see what can be done. If the Executor is not following the will, he can be charged CRIMINALLY.

"If you are named as executor in a will in Georgia, you have a duty to follow the procedures outlined in the Georgia code, which include promptly filing the will with the probate court. If you fail to fulfill your role as executor, you could be liable if beneficiaries are financially harmed by your delay -- and you may lose your right to serve as executor. Therefore, it is in your own best interests, as well as in the best interests of the beneficiaries, to avoid delay and file the will as promptly as possible following the death of the will maker, known as the testator.

Deadline to File a Will

Under Georgia law, you are required to file the will as soon as possible following the testator’s death. If you refuse to file the will as required by Georgia statute, the law allows any interested party to file the will, including a creditor of the estate. If you believe that you were named as the executor in a will, but the original document was lost, stolen or destroyed, you may be able to admit a certified copy of the will if the original witnesses to its signing are available to testify and verify as to truth and authenticity of the copy. You can often obtain a copy of an original will from the attorney who assisted the deceased in preparing the will."

Louis- If I had the room I'd invite you down to bask in the mid 80's we will have today and the rest of the week.
Have 8 bags of leaves to be picked up and the lawn is still being covered by falling leaves. I'm with Curt, we both hate oak trees.
Think I'll clean dust off tracks and run a train as the garage is now warm enough to be comfortable in shorts and tee-shirt.

Terry- I agree with Eric. Nephew may be blood but he sure needs an awakening.
Best wishes to you and your family

Phil

Phil the thought is every bit as good as the invitation, I appreciate that, thank you!

Our weather is saying the sun should soon be out and the temperatures will be in the mid-60s today, sounds great to me!

Assuming this all happened in Georgia,

Terry is in North Carolina. Where did you get Georgia from?

By the way, giving advice like you just did puts you in jeopardy for "practicing law without a license" - no matter what State you are in.

Morning All,

Just got cleaned up from edging the yard, weed wacking, trimming hedges and trees. Not sure what else is on the agenda today.

BigE- I thought the locomotive in the video looked like a Disney one, but I went back and looked at some of my photos and they are a little different in the cab.

Terry- Hope you are well.

I hope everyone has a good day.

I am better than my truck. My wife was given permission yesterday by her doctor to resume driving.
This morning, a guy pulled out in front of her, and she remodeled his car for him.

Does anybody have a hole I can crawl into for a while?

How is your wife?

Terry come on over and hang out in my cave, we'll run some Lionel trains and watch spring training baseball.

Wife is fine, just shaken up.
It seems this area has a policy of not issuing citations for traffic violations that cause an accident, unless there are serious injuries involved. It saves the police department a lot of time writing reports. Now, instead of a failure to yield citation showing at fault, we have to pay our deductible, and have our insurance companies fight it out.

I am glad to hear your wife is ok.

It's the same here Terry, my daughter got hit, nearly crushed and dragged 2 blocks by an empty car carrier on a street that was designated "no trucks over 3/4 ton", no citation. Fortunately the driver admitted he was at fault. We still lost about $1000 and the use of her car for nearly 2 months. We got the car back and still had problems and ended up trading it in. I am just glad my pretty little princess did not get hurt.

Terry- I too am glad your wife is alright. Truck can be replaced, good wife not as easily.

Louis- Any tricks as to keeping rubber on Lionel wheel from going bad? 'cracking'.

Phil

Phil

Phil I am far from an expert and with only a little over 2 years experience playing with Lionel trains I have a long way to go.

I will be glad to look through my books and see if a real expert has any recommendations.

Are you referring to traction tires?
