I remember Rodney Dangerfield saying he was at a fight one night, and a hockey game broke out.
 
Careful boys - hockey is what gets some of us through the winter up here in the Great White North.

That and model railroading of course!
 
Good Morning: 36°, overcast, with light rain. Considering there is ice west of here, it's nice to be coastal.

I am just joking.

Hockey is a great game and checking is a fair way to have hitting involved, but when the refs become spectators to all out brawls I think that is going to far.
 
I think hockey is a great game, but there's no need for fighting or sticks to the head. A good hockey game is a wonderful thing to watch.
 


I am a diehard NASCAR fan and there have been differences of opinions over the years but no real fights, until this year. It is interesting watching a driver try to punch out another driver who is wearing his helmet.

No real fights? I remember Dale Earnhardt and Rusty Wallace trying to kill each other after a wreck about 20 years ago.
 
I saw my first race on the beach at Daytona in 1957 and have been hooked ever since. I do agree that things have change a lot since the early 70's, but I am still a big fan. I will be in Daytona in February for the 500.

When I lived in Warroad, MN (on the cusp of Ontario and Manitoba), there were two channels available, and it was hockey on each!!



-12 today and it will be a frosty week. lasm
 
Afternoon All,

I wanted to do some things on the layout today but it wasn't to be. This morning I got a phone call from my Mom that her washing machine had overflowed and that needed help with the water that was on the floor and carpet. So I drove over and vacuumed with a shop vac to get what water I could up. After that a workman showed up to professionally vacuum the rest up. Overnight he left a dehumidifier running and 2 large fans to dry the carpet.

Tonight I have a RR museum meeting and tomorrow I am meeting Garry at 10 AM for coffee. I talked to Phil today but he is sick and will not be able to join us.

I hope everyone has a good night.
 
Time to call it a day and head to the house.

Wonder if they were dancing this night ?
