Terry-I know what it means, I just can't pronounce it. [The long word, I can pronounce "it".]

Good afternoon all...well, it's just after noon here anyway! Mid forties today here in the Milwaukee area. After dire warnings of how bad the winter was going to get, that's kind of anticlimactic. Of course, we've had a few where the nasty stuff didn't start until January. We've also got some sunshine, yesterday and today which is a welcome change. We had so much cloud cover the past couple weeks I needed a "happy light"!

I did four decoder installs this morning. Don't be too impressed, they were all in Bowser trolleys and all "plug and plays" so it took longer to program than to install them! Now the whole fleet has been "decoderized" (until I buy another one!)

Well...just following up on my wee '13' theme here....

Hope everyone had a good Christmas. We had our Southern Christmas in AL, and are now getting ready for the Northern Christmas in OH in a couple of days from now. .. The AL family get together was brief, but very nice.

Happy Model Railroading

Good afternoon everyone,
Hello Flo & Francine, I hope you ladies had a very good Christmas, I know we all appreciate both of you staying open as long as you do for us.

_ _ _ _ _ _

Weather wise it was quite cold yesterday evening and at night. At about 8:00 Pm there was very heavy frost on my car so the temp must have been 32* or below. I'm glad now I made the effort to wax all the spots where the clear coat was gone. I can see the water bead up from the dew or rain. Actually I have a car port I need to erect for my car and just don't get around to doing it. That's really kind of crazy and I need to change my way or thinking. I can't be all that hard to do.

Lets see what WW says, this site seems really unstable for me, some times it comes up fine and then after a while it gone.

It's 46.6 °F - Feels Like 45 °F,m winds are from SW at 4.2 mph. The Humidity is 61% at 3:00 Pm, The high for today will be 48 °F with a low of 31 °F tonight.

= = = = =

:) My Christmas was spent trying to make up some little signs for my, Horseshoe Meadow Depot which has been unfinished for way too long a time but I didn't have all the window castings etc. till about a year ago or longer and then my emphasis was on track work.

I had intended to also paint the window & door castings for it as well as get the window glazing in trying to get it looking more like it's supposed to so I could take some pictures to post for a Christmas scene but it just didn't happen.

I had the actual instruction sheet and great pictures of it in front of me and started out to name it Ridge Crest Depot on the main sign to go on the roof but ran into problems with the desk top publishing program which didn't want to function right for me.

Finally at about 8:00 Pm last night I decided to let the area be named Ridgecrest but keep the name, Horseshoe Meadow Depot and I made up a little sign of it but the program still wasn't working as it should unless I was doing something wrong but I did get it to work correctly earlier in the day!

So I didn't get near what I had intended.

Say Montanan: That's one heck of a jumbled cross track area! I don't think I've ever seen so many tracks
cross an one location. It would be interesting to know why the RR/RR's felt it was necessary to have so many lines crossing at one place. I should think there would be numerous accidents that occurred there.

Good morning. Sunny but still below freezing in my neighborhood, there is a thick frost covering everything in the shadow areas. Hope yall had a great Christmas, I did - except for when I over-ate during the Christmas meal and paid dearly for that in abdominal pain!

Monty, that dozen-diamond trackwork looks really cool, but I think only Tim Warris could wire up a 1:87 model of it so short-wheelbase locos could get thru!

My gifts didn't include anything from a hobbyshop - I've told my family I prefer to be "my own Santa Claus" for mrr stuff - but I did get two items that will be very useful in the trainroom and workbench: (1) a swiveling bar stool - this will enable me to sit down while doing DecoderPro on a rollaway cabinet top that is ~4ft above floor level, and to work at my workbench which is also 4ft high; and (2) a wireless mouse, so when I carry my laptop out to the trainroom, I don't have that mouse cord getting snagged on any protruding objects. Both these items are things I would never bother to go out and buy for myself.

I'll get several hours of "me" time today, so I can de-clutter the trainroom and get it ready for the next op session.

Have a great day!

Say Ken: When I used to go to the local Casino when it was open and eat at their buffet I tended to get over stuffed too! A simple trick is to eat or drink something Citrus like lemon or orange or what ever. The fullness feeling will subside almost immediately as the Citric acid helps in the digestion of the food!

Time to call it quits for another day. Friday night bowling league again. That means BEER !

Say Montanan, Where did that Ghost like image of steam rising from in front of the train come from? That's rather odd looking.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Evening All,

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Our family all got together at our daughters house for supper. I received 3 great Pennsy publications and MOH surprised me with a camera that can go on a car for the engineman's view. Unfortunately the camera was only working in Black and White and not color like it should be, so I called the manufacturer and I have a new one coming. I will shoot a video when I get it.

We are having typical FL winter weather. Wednesday temp was almost 84 F, Thursday 60 F, Today 72 F. It is amazing that everybody here is not sick. But at least no snow.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Familiar gents?

Four railroads crossed at Griffith in triangular pattern, EL, EJ&E, GT and PC (NYC branch)...C&O had trackage rights on the EL...

Busy day!

Drs appointment 8 am. While therapy is helping my frozen shoulder, he is not happy with the weakness in that arm. So he's ordered an MRI for my spine,,,he thinks I may nave a herniated disk in my neck. From there, drove an hour to see the grandboys open Christmas presents. Stayed for a bit, then back to the building right behind the doctors office for a 2:30 p.m. MRI. Results next week.

SWMBO wanted to go to Walmart (BIG mistake) cuz it was a block from the Doc.......nothing but a sea of humanity clutching gift cards!! From there we went to Home Depot (almost deserted ) for cabinet and drawer pulls, blinds for the garage, and a pull down attic stair for the garage,, oh, and SWMBO did score some half price Christmas stuff for next year! Then home, unload, and delivery Pizza!

Tomorrow, work on the garage,,,trains Sunday

This is the grandson's cat Kiwi. Nice little fella, even though he look a bit,,,,umm,,, nervous?

The boys Dad did fix my JMRI computer, updated to Win 7, new power supply, more RAM, new processor,,,,yeah, pretty much overhauled it. Just gotta hook it back up now!

L8ter gang!

SayKarl,
I hope your shoulder improves. Did you have this same weakness after your stroke? I hope whatever the MRI shows up isn't too bad.

Say MR 113,
That looks a bit more complex than I'd care to try and reproduce. LoL If this is supposed to be the same intersection as the other one it appears to be lacking some tracks compared to the first picture?

Thanks for posting.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas, we sure did. We're going to Peoria tomorrow to have Christmas with our kids and grandkids. We went to my wife's parents yesterday for a small dinner and exchanged gifts. Will probably be the last Christmas my wife will be able to fully enjoy with her mom because her mom has Alzheimer's and is starting to deteriorate faster and faster as time goes by. It truly is a horrible disease.

Later in the day we went to our daughter's house and ate supper with her, our son-in-law and two granddaughters. We gave Cooper, our "grandpuppy" his present. Played games and had a good time.

The day after Christmas is a bit depressing to me because my Dad passed away 15 years ago today. I had a lot of good times with him and quite a few were train related in one way or another. I miss him even more at Chistmas but I guess that is to be expected. Time marches on. Sorry, I didn't mean to be a downer.

Opposite side of the body David.....the stroke hit my right side,,,,thats all better now thank goodness, or I'd really be in a world of trouble!! He's thinking its a herniated disc, but he's not sure, since I have no constant pain. Also there is a small cyst in my shoulder, just to the inside of my shoulder blade,,,,,,,not sure til the MRI comes back. Funny thing, it only affects the mobility of my shoulder and upper arm. from the elbow down, I'm unaffected. He found out early when he asked me to squeeze his finger, and I just about broke it.

Agree with you David, just looks like trouble, something that would cause more headaches than it's worth...lol
I think that I counted to eight tracks in both pics, one building is missing, the wee hut is slightly different, the roof....
If only the pic been ever so slightly more to the left....lol

IN MEMORIAM - JEFFREY WIMBERLY

Good morning folks.

It's back to winter for us here in the Upper Midwest. I believe we've had four inches so far.

Bob, I'm sure your dad is smiling while you run your trains on Christmas.

Karl, good luck with your shoulder. Gotta love Doctors appointments.

I sold a car to my wife's step brother's wife. I guess that makes her my sister in law! She came to the dealership by herself, drove a few different cars and left with her first brand new car. Her husband thinks he could have negotiated a better price from me but we don't negotiate! She left with a 2015 Nissan Altima. She bought a few extras that guarantee the interior and exterior surfaces for seven years and also bought an extended warranty that covers her to 120,000 mile bumper to bumper. She was beaming when she came back to pick it up! I was just happy that she came in. I'm learning that many friends and family make vague promises to come in and see me. I don't care if you buy a car from me or not, just don't act like you will!

Christmas went well. I had 20 people at my house and enough food to feed a small country for a week.

Hope everyone is well.

Say Montanan, Where did that Ghost like image of steam rising from in front of the train come from? That's rather odd looking.

The steam line at the rear of the skytop may be leaking, or the steam line in the depot is connected to the train there and the connection is leaking.

Steam heat only works when fresh, hot, steam is flowing through the system. The easiest way to make that happen is to crack the valve on the steam line on the car furthest from the steam source.

Good morning,

40 with clear skies in southeast Baltimore

I have not been on since Christmas day so I hope everyone had a great Christmas! We did, my boys loved all their toys and thanks to my grandson remembering me to Santa I got a new Lionel Christmas Boxcar.

Enjoy the Holidays everybody!
