Afternoon All,

It was supposed to rain all day but nothing so far. I think it probably will be on the east side of town. Today my bridge kit arrived along with the bridge track. I'm excited since I have never had a viaduct type bridge. Of course I may be cussing it while building it!

Today I painted the lower plaster work. I glued on some previously used flexible stone walls on the exits of the portals. I also put together the framework for the mountain surrounding the 2 tunnels. Although in the photo it looks very short it is actually 22 inches long. I will most likely plaster it tomorrow. After painting I plan on putting on several large rock castings I have used previously.

I was sitting here earlier thinking about Jeff. I miss him a lot. I hope Bill is on vacation or just too busy to post.

Garry- Sorry to hear about your friend but glad he will be OK.

Sherrel- Good to see you back in the coffee shop.

I hope everybody has a good night.

Looking like more progress Curt. Keep the pictures coming.

Ended up with about 8 inches of snow, but it is melting off pretty quickly. Here are a couple of old pictures of the Old Milwaukee Road depot in Ringling, MT

Thank you Brother Ken!!!
I owe you a beer.

Cork received today!!

Nice touch with the big 'E' on the address.

Wish my other orders would come in that quick.
I'm starting to forget what I still have coming.

That place looks like something that needs to be built for someone's layout.
Take me there sometime and borrow some surveying equipment and I'll map it in detail.

Good evening everyone!

67 with a few clouds in southeast Baltimore,

It's great to see your post Sherrel, I hope you get some rain soon.

Garry I hope your friend is felling better.

Thanks for the pictures everybody

Good afternoon.

Chet .... Seeing abandoned railroad property is depressing.
Curt ... You are making rapid progress on your layout.

RPO news... I just received a very nice book about the original Burlington Denver Zephyr from Burlington Route Historical Society, and I received some GN Canton hopper car kits by Accurail. Also, I just received a supply of Kadee couplers I had ordered. .... I have plenty of work to do. ........ So, I have plenty to do.

Happy Model Railroading

Swapping out couplers on a grand scale is something I'm glad to have had to do only once. I don't want to do that it again.
I do not envy your task at all. Then again, putting down all this ground cover/dirt isn't exactly what I would call glorious either.

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. I lurk here several times a day .. Just have not posted much, but lays enjoy others sayings.

Hopefully have most all my ailments behind for awhile. Colon cancer, gall bladder, and three anurisms fixed so far this year. Have some mild Chemo to go, just as a precaution.

I miss Jeffrey being on here too! I've alo noticed that Bill has not posted in quite a while. I hope that he is OK.
Thanks to all of you for your support during the past few months. It was NOT fun at all. I might even get to feeling well enough to do some modeling again for a change. That would be nice!

Hi Sherrel, Yes, it good to see you back, I knew it wouldn't be too long before you returned. As far as doing a bit more modeling, I'd be willing to bet you may have already gone and at least run some of your trains. That always spurrs me to get going and even more so if other MRR's stop by!

Things are smoothing out for you so thats great!

See you around,

David

Good evening. It's still raining and 48.
Sherrel, it's good to see you back here. I've glanced at Bill's profile occasionally, and he still has been on the forum, just not posting. He may be under the weather, or just not feel like opening the coffee shop for a while.

I think I'm going to retire to the train room and put down some more dirt. I'll start in the middle to be sure the hardest part is done now that I have the hang of it. I might just get up on the table to the absolute middle part but I'll have to get the flood loader tower out of the way first. I should be able to knock out a majority of the open part tonight so I can leave sit all night.

Catch you'ns tomorrow.
E.

Thanks for the information about Bill, I miss his posts.

Time for me to go to bed and watch the Orioles beat the Yankees, again, I hope! Well the truth is I'll be asleep in a few minutes and watch the replay early in the morning.

Good night everyone!

Well... that didn't take long. I got all the hard part done and now I'm out of dirt. Guess I'll dig up more tomorrow.
Time to make some supper anyhow.

Eric, are you baking your dirt? It kills most of the stuff that lives in it, so you don't get sick from it down the road.

Here are a couple of pics. Yes, I did get up on the table to do that big spot in the middle and some around the yard turnouts. Everything from hereon out I can easily reach. If I had a friend here I could have gotten a pic of me up on the table. With my smaller stature and light weight there is not chance of me hurting it. Besides there is a center post made of 2 2x4s screwed together. I sure ain't gonna break that.

I suppose I can put down the cork Ken sent me to finish off the fueling station while the next batch of dirt is baking in the oven.
You can see in the far background that it really did lighten up in color after is dried out overnight - as some suggested it would.

Indeed I am! 400 for a couple hours or so. Then I grind some up, stir it around, mix in a little beach sand and bake some more.
Carey is the one that told me to sterilize it.
However, if I end up with a batch of mushrooms later on, I'll be sure to share. ;)

Looking really good, but it does need some green.

I know. I'll add the green and the weeds and some trees when I get an idea. For now, I just wanted to some cover on that white paint. Had I known I was going to go all in 3 months ago, I sure would have done things different. That's ok. It's an on-going work-in-progress. I reckon we all know what that's all about.
It's all good! No. It's it's all GREAT!!

Good evening. 52*F and calm in central MD.

Thank you Brother Ken!!!

...
LOL Eric I was wondering if you'd catch that!

Sherrell - great to see you back here again! Glad you are past the worst of your medical issues.

Chet - Depressing or not, those are great photos. The empty structure surrounded by knee-high grass makes a perfect subject for an oil painting, if I ever take up that hobby again...

Nothing new on the layout, other than I generated a few more manifests via PanelPro. It takes a lot of preliminary setup work to successfully "build" a train with the right mix of cars.

I have an appointment with a neurologist tomorrow, I was referred there by my primary care doc for symptoms that cleared up a few weeks ago. I'm hoping I can just go in and out quickly, and that he won't subject me to a gazillion tests that require a bunch of repeat visits. I've already missed way too much time from work because of doc appts.

Well being that it was near about 30 on the font scale, it was hard to miss. Specially since you (me) has been called BigE since around 1977. I kind of pick up on when I see a large E anywhere.
