Regarding figuring out how to wire up these lamp posts, whom ever came up with the idea to burn the insulation off instead of trying to strip it was a genius.
Guess I should cook some supper and rack out.
Later Gents.

Evening Eric. I was wondering, what railroad do you model? I model mostly L&N,some Southern, a touch of Frisco, and a few others. BTW,my name is William.

Is that gorilla super glue any good, William. I've seen the regular gorilla glue, but not the super glue.

Well..... I don't really model any railroad in particular. I'm in HO these only because that's what got [re]given to me from back in my old days. Some of it I recognized but most of I don't. My baby brother took over after I moved away to live with my Dad and I had gotten into N-scale by then.
As to modelling any particular railroad, the short answer would be, I'm just making it all up as I go along. I guess in a way that gives complete latitudes to do whatever I want with any engines I have or rolling stock or structures or scenery.
Being chronicly un-employed at the time, I have plenty of time to tinker around with electronics and stuff. Keeps me out of the bars as they say. Of course it doesn't keep me from walking to the beer store when needed.
Contact me anytime. 3 months ago I didn't know doodly-squat about DCC. A good chunk of money later and a lot of track work and wiring, now "I are one".

Eric, I understand exactly what you are saying. If I didn't have my trains to play with after a bad workweek, I don't know what I would do to pass the time. My only other escape is World of Tanks that I play online. As for a layout, I can get one started, but never finished. In fact when my brother and I were kids, we had a layout that my dad built for us,in the basement of our house in Mountain Brook Ala. I like operation sessions, but like you I too enjoy putting a train together on the track, and just letting it go. I tell you this, when it comes to DCC, Carey really knows his stuff. I'm pretty good at it, but he know mechanisms better than I do. He has shown me how to do a lot of stuff in modelrailroading. He is a good teacher. William.

10-4 on that. He has already shown me stuff I wouldn't have thought of in a hundred years.
Would you happen to be the "friend" that is coming over tomorrow? You are most welcome here.

Uh no Eric,I'm not. But maybe you can make a drive over here one day. I live not far from Carey. I live in Vestavia Hills which is just up highway 31 coming from Hoover,or if coming from B'ham, you would come through downtown B'ham, through Homewood,to Vestavia Hills. As for the invitation, thank you. I would like to see your layout progress. Also, you might find this hard to believe, and Carey can confirm it, I have close to 70 locomotives, give or take, all with DCC installed, and some have sound. William.

William,
Here is the last stuff I put up on photo bucket:
http://s113.photobucket.com/user/MountainBigE/library/Model RailRoad
I have several new structures and some with LED lighting that I did just this week.

I haven't put anything new up there in a while but the track is where it's staying - for now.
Look over the past few days of my post about some modelling work I've been doing.
Carey hasn't seen the latest since his last visit.

As for driving over, I don't drive any more. Otherwise I'd probably have visited Carey's place several times already. Instead he comes over here. I'm super happy to have some common company.
You are welcome over here any time. Carey has the directions.

Time to rack-out. Nighty-night.
E.

William .... I have family members in Vestavia Hills. I met Carey when there last summer and think he is a very good person.

Eric ... Glad you are becoming friends with Carey. He took me to a friend's house who has a nice layout modeling the Burlington Railroad

Went to another buy & sell today and sold 2 locos. The first one I would class as a forced sale. Guy who had come looking early on and gave me a flyer from a new hobby shop he was connected with, came back, picked up one of the Kato SD40's on display that I had opened and sat the loco in it's foam cradle into it's cover. What does he do? Picks it up and turns the box upside down. A sickening "THUD" as it hit's the floor. So, I said, after a second's reaction, "Well you've bought that one, $90 thankyou!" and I meant it. He paid up.

Good morning gang...!
Just done my widows....the joys!
Think the last time that they were cleaned, were around the time of Battle Of Yorktown! ;):D

A somewhat more modern '13'...
I've always liked this paintscheme better than
the Yellow Warbonnet...

Off to the GSMTS/Brass Expo train show. All weekend surrounded by brass locos. It's like being a guard dog in a milk bone factory!!_

Good morning y'all. Very pleasant 70 now, going to near 90 unless the p.m. rains get here. Damn, we sure need rain.
Eric- Man you do some sweet ass work. I am constantly awed what you folks do. Curt,Garry,Montanan, heck, all of you. I'm lucky my track stays together and the power stays on. Heck, another of my nicknames is-"Fumble Fingers Flip"
I'll be meeting Curt at a local train show about 11. Classy guy..

Got the lab results and clear of the "C" cells. Back to normal. Back for a checkup in Aug.

Thanks Phil.
Want to know the secret?
Drink early and heavily and cuss often.
Do NOT listen to blue grass music while modelling unless you are trying to set a speed record.
But really, I try to take my time and visualize what I want.
If something doesn't come to me I'll let things sit until it does. Or... ask for suggestions because I do not consider myself good at color coordination.
As is the case with my sanding tower facility. I have an idea what colors I want but am not even cutting the parts off the sprues until I get some paints so right now the towers are sitting atop my TV and the other parts are still in the box.
Same goes for the mountain and tunnels I'm wanting to do. That's been brewing in my head since December. And, it's going to stay brewing until I can see the finished product in my head.

Thanks for the comps in any event!.
E.

Finally got the hoses and lines hooked up on the fueling station.
Took the better part of a full day to get them right. They aren't perfect but no one is likely to notice - except me.
