Karl ..... Uh, Oh ...... Lady Sharknose is wearing a see through outfit......... No peeking, guys!
David .... Sounds like you had a rough time with insurance. I'm bothered because we pay for insurance companies to assume risk for us. However, after filing claims, they will charge a surcharge above their rate for a period of time. So actually, the customer is paying for his own risk. ... There is something to be said for being self insured except of course a liability claim can wipe out an individual. That reminds me about lawyers, and I think I'll drop that topic.
Flip ... Hope the knees feel better soon
Yesterday, I ordered a six pin connector to connect wiring between loco and tender on my 2-10-2. I've worked on that engine so many times the original connecter is falling apart. ...... I ordered from Ulrich Models where I saw they are selling NCE D13SR decoders for only $10.17 each, and so I bought 2 of them.
While ordering stuff like that. I ordered from Walthers 2 Soundtraxx decoders with EMD 567D turbo sound for my 2 Atlas SD24's. They are on sale currently at Walthers. The SD24's have been on the shelf since my layout was converted to DCC, and I am anxious to run these engines with sound. I recall seeing the real SD24's on the Burlington 50 or so years ago...... Gee, was it that long ago? ....
Have had breakfast and the grand kids are at the house while Peggy and her husband put together her new class room. My wife has them watching the movie Hokus-Pokus. Other than that not much planned for the day. I am probably not going to the train club tonight. Talk to you all later.
Good afternoon coffee shop dwellers! It's cool and blustery here in central MD with the sun peeking out now and then.
The insurance adjuster from USAA came to look at my son's car, and immediately determined it was totaled. No surprise there; what was really amazing is that they not only are paying off my son's bank loan, but giving him an additional $1500 beyond that! This will help him find a comparable car that may be priced a tad higher than what he paid for his own car [which he got an exceptionally good deal on]. BTW Garry - this is not our insurance company, but the other guy's - so no effect on our premiums!
I'm continuing with the ballasting project, pretty much finished the yard now I'm focusing on the main line. I'm trying to make the passing sidings appear a little bit darker than the main so they will look slightly less-maintained like the prototype ones. The lawn has to be mowed later today once the grass dries out from last night's rain, so I gotta make the best use of the present time.
Those of you in pain, I hope you get better quickly. Go O's!
Good morning. It's 64° with 39% humidity. The high will be 75° and sunny.
I'm feeling much better today. Fever finally broke last night. For my breakfast I had bologna and cheese with mustard on Ritz crackers Topped it off with antibiotics and Oxycontin for the pain. No plans for today. At the moment I'm watching an old Bogart movie called 'Sahara'. It's pretty interesting. Might watch 'Casablanca' or 'The African Queen' later. Always did like Katherine Hepburn. Don't know if my nephew will be working on the GL20 today. The way I look at it, it'll be ready when it's ready.
Good morning,
It was certainly not warm here this morning. And it was colder out at the soccer fields, but my boys team won 10-2 with my boy scoring 5 of those. I'm awfully proud of him. I'm not an athlete at all so I am glad he is. It's 46 now with 15 to 20 mph winds
Good afternoon its 79* well when I got to work @ 6am it was sticky
Then a horizontal nw wind came out of nowhere is guess the "cold front " arrived lol
& its less humid
Well, not much happened today. Stayed off my feet most of the day. Watched some movies. 'Sahara', 'Casablanca', 'African Queen', 'First Blood'. Now watching 'Mythbusters'. Pretty sure there was nothing done on the GL20 today. There was some activity over there but it was the 'Party' type activity. Far be it from me to go step on the cake.
Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
Like the ant that moved the rubber tree plant, these guys have high hopes!
Now this is more like it. Gas mileage is still gonna suck though.
