Louis - Glad you are enjoying the photos. The wife's foot is slowly healing. She doesn't need to wear the Darth Vader boot any more.

It's only 74 outside, but the humidity is 82% after the morning shower and now the summer sun is shinning bright. The humidity combined with the hot summer sun have forced me to retreat inside.

I was going to run errands and go to work, but that can wait for the evening. Just getting in and out of the van has got feeling over heated.

Just watched Chet's video -- too funny - still laughing! Heard from KEN - say's he will stop by next Thursday!

OK, Chet, I must have missed something - I will have to go back and re-read. Did your wife drop a bowling ball on her foot? That would certainly "smart"!

LOUIS, You lead an interesting life! I think all the time about moving back to somewhere around Willie's area, or East Texas more near the Louisiana line, but I think about the bugs, mosquitoes, and the constant humidity where you cannot get dry after a bath/shower; just don't think I could handle it .. I have been spoiled by the normal 15 to 30% here. Just wish it would rain occasionally.
I tried the quiz .. twice .. maybe I go back and try again 0/3 first time 2/3 second. either i'm pretty dumb, or not paying attention.

Also need to watch TOOT's latest posting. PM me your email - TOOT!

TWO Tracks - Welcome! I like your style!

Sherrel - Glad you liked the video. My wife was at the pool at the Bozeman Hot Springs down the road from us and some kids were running (which they're not supposed to do) nd knocked three people over. She landed on he knee, but also twisted her foot. Doing a lot better now.Enjoy your visit with Ken.

Professor Ken -Hope you're enjoying your trip. Nice to see you checking in.

Good afternoon: 73° and cloudy. I cut the lawn today, and buzzed a patch of nasty weeds. The lilys are done for the year, only the daisys are blooming. Just harvested our first full size tomato and banana pepper. Sheesh, it's almost August! Today's my mom's birthday. She would have been 106. She's been gone for 16 years now.

Curt: The roof sections look real good. Your project is coming along.

Sherrel: You live where the weather is almost perfect. Why would you want to expose yourself to mosquitoes, bugs and constant humidity, plus hurricanes, tornadoes and floods. Aren't wild fires, earthquakes and mud slides enough? My son couldn't wait to move back to North Carolina. Now he complains about the daily humidity, 90°+ temperatures, thunder and lightening, and wayward alligators on the flight line...He misses Pendleton and Oceanside.

Louis: If you have been watching, the O's almost salvaged another bad performance by Miley, but came up short last night. I have not even looked at this afternoon's rubber game, when Ubaldo pitches, it's an automatic loss.

Need to get some higher quality dimensional lumber to frame out my bench work. I'ts only been a year since I last extended it. So tomorrow, before the rain starts...

Have a good day.

Howdy .

I was in Nashville, TN for medical appointments with the heart surgeon. It was routine follow up from my surgery several month ago. It was okay except heart rate and blood pressure were up a bit..... It was likely the result of my trip there which was not routine.

A rear tire blew on my truck on the Interstate. It did some damage to my rear fender. ... I began changing the tire myself, but was very thankful to a sheriff's deputy who stopped to help change the tire. With my heart failure, I did not need to do such work in the hot weather. ... The spare had only 10 pounds of air pressure in it, and the officer suggested I drive to the next exit at 20 mph on the should with flashers on. It was 7 miles to the next exit. ... I was almost 2 hours late to my appointments.

Now I can get back to model railroading.

Cheers !

Good evening gang!

Been missing a few days, work, chores, honeydo list and other various and sundry things have kept me busy. I do follow along a bit on my lunch hour, but typing on the phone is a real drag.

Good to see the afflicted members (& SWMBO's) are getting better!

Louis I'd fight that ticket in court. If the officer can't get the address right, what else is wrong? On the other hand, being in that neighborhood with any cop, even a meter maid, is better than being alone.

Chet I got a rail pic for ya!

OH MY! Double Sweet ... Must be a Western Rail Photo?

Hmmm.

Posing for for photos on an active rail line is dangerous. In fact, a female model was hit and killed by a train a few months ago doing that .

Trespassing on railroad property should not be encouraged.

Safety first.

Sherrel I could do with a little less interesting.

I grew up playing in the swamps of southeastern Baltimore County, played ball all day everyday I could. I never had any trouble with the heat and humidity until this minor snag, pancreatitis. Now I have had 3 heat stokes, no permanent damage, thankfully. I've always been absent minded, can't blame that on anything. I can't take the cold. I should move out there where you live, but I love southeast Baltimore and could not imagine living any where else. Thank God for central heating and air-conditioning!

I have yet to try the quiz, but I don't expect to do any better than you, don't feel bad, you won't be alone in the back of the class. That has me thinking, I bet you are pretty good at making paper airplanes!

Boris Happy Birthday to your Mom, Even though she is no longer with us it's a great day to celebrate her life and how lucky you were to have her.

Congratulations on the tomatoes and peppers. My youngest daughters boyfriend has been supplying me with tomatoes he grew. Boy oh boy do they taste so much better than what you can buy in the store!

Ubaldo pitched well, unfortunately Cobb pitched better and our bullpen let the game slip out of hand.

Miley is really frustrating for me. Strike one, strike two, ball one, ball two, ball three, next pitch TROUBLE! Time and time again. I bet if he threw a ball straight down the middle on 0-2 they would not swing out of shock. He is averaging 20 pitches per inning! I miss Dave McNally.

Garry that was some good driving! It can be hard to control a vehicle traveling at highway speeds when a rear tire blows. I'm glad to hear you got a hand. God will reward that young officer for his good deed.

I'm also glad to hear all was well at the doctor and I bet you are right about your heart rate and blood pressure after what you had been through. Knowing you I bet you were more upset over being late than the tire.

Karl it's good to hear from you, I'm with you when it comes to typing on the phone. Big fingers, little phones, bad combination.

I'm looking forward to my day in court!

That area is really nice, especially compared to some places I've been. Between my days as a "road dog" and now delivering packages I have been in just about every neighborhood in Baltimore at all hours of the day and night.

Being 6'8", nearly 300lbs and growing up on the "wrong side of the tracks" has it's advantages. I could tell you some things you probably would not believe so I won't bother. I'll just say I have had some interesting encounters with some colorful characters over these many years.

I have enough experience to know Roosevelt was right, there is nothing to fear, but fear itself.

Garry were you a Hall Monitor is school? :)

I'm sorry Garry I could not resist.

Good evening everyone.
I slept the entire day away so needless to say I got nothing done on my building.
However, I got so much done the other day/afternoon that it won't take but a couple hours to finish the table then I can start in building the railroad again.
I'm wanting to cover the table using a roll turf-covered paper first so as not to spend to much time and money covering it with turf out of a shaker bottle. I'd probably spend the same in just glue-alcohol-water mix - that doesn't even take into account the time involved to hand cover it instead of just rolling paper turf and tacking it down.
I'm having a tough time finding the rolled type though.
I don't have my Woodland Scenics catalog here. I'm sure I could find it quickly.
Can someone help me find this so I can order it right away.

Too late for to do any construction tonight. My self imposed time is to stop by around 2100 hours so as not to disturb anyone further than I already do. Of course that's running the saws. The drill doesn't make nearly that much racket. Our walls seems pretty thick and it may not bother anyone at all but I don't want to take that chance and make anyone mad me.

This is a big storm going on right now. I don't know how long it's been going but it sure is a heavy one. Lots of lightening and heavy rain coming in sheets. Our just stepped outside my door and the inner hallway doors are closed so that tells me we must be under at least a tornado watch if not a warning. Radar at WC.com looks mighty red in my area but they aren't mentioning anything about watches and warning so who knows.

Good morning. It's overcast and 71.
Woke up at 3 am with a migraine, and was forced to take my last migraine pill. I am now out of them until August 15th. Wish me luck on that, I'm gonna need it.
