Good morning. 62 degrees to start off the day. It will be a busy one. My son and his wife are on their way out to help finish staining the front porch, and one of my grandsons will be out to mow the lawn. The dumpster and cedar arrived yesterday to close in the lower part of the porch. That will be next weekends project.

Dave - I am a big fan of Chevy trucks. My favorite is my '72 Chevy heavy three quarter ton 4X4. Bought it new and still have it. I did replace the motor at 256,000 miles because the valve seals were going. Put in a new Goodwrench crate motor, a 4 bolt main 350, the same as the original motor. I also have a 2014 half ton Silverado, but think I have it sold. It does ride a lot better than the old '72, but it can't tow or haul what I need. The '72 does ride like the axles are welded to the frame until there's about 500 pounds in the bed, but I really like that old truck. It had the geared transfer case and the 4 speed with the granny gear. I have literally ripped trees out of the ground with it. About 35 years ago my neighbor was trying to dig up a willow tree but was having no luck at all. Took the old Chevy to the tree, put a tow rope around the trunk and ripped it out of the ground. It is still a healthy tree in his yard. I was thinking about replacing it with a 5 speed manual but a friend who is a Chevy mechanic said the the old transmission is a lot better.

Willie - We probably grill 4 to 5 days a week in the summer.

Garry - Must be good to finally be home again.

My son just pulled in, I'm outta here, later.

Dave,
SAY NO to the engine flush. It kills more engines than it saves. Ive got one at the shop now. Guy drove it in to another shop, got an engine flush, then towed it to me
Karl I knew you would appreciate the picture of Jobu. I think the company name is Clark Toys, they are selling replicas of Jobu at $45 each I did not think anybody would be interested in the link to their website.

Motor flush?... motor flush???... wtf? how would that even work? Flush=clean, clean-solvent, solvent as lubricant? oh no that just does not sound right!!!

Just get it good and hot and drain the oil.

Louis - Sorry to hear that you overdid it. But if you don't take it to the limit every once in a while, you don't know the limit! I am a bit tired of most Christmas music! Bring some crab-cakes by and we'll trade! McDonalds! I may be the only American who has NEVER eaten at a McDonalds, and I intend to keep it that way. Now Whataburger on the other hand...
Willie I like how you think! I always find a positive aspect to every situation and I was thinking the same as you. Now I have a better idea of how far is too far. Thank you God.

I'll make that trade in a heart beat! High on my list when I retire is visiting Texas to get a proper steak, see you then! I'll bring a portable freezer full of crab cakes.

Like Beady I love traditional Christmas music and a few novelty songs. Silent Night is probably my favorite.

You have to love Snoopy!

I think I like this one because it drives my wife crazy :) Only God knows why such a beautiful, intelligent, hard working, wonderful lady would want to be with me. I know I am pushing my luck, but I can't resist teasing her, daily. I love the faces she makes :)

I recommend the McDonalds quarter pounder. Dollar for dollar you can't buy a better burger, in my book that is. Keep in mind I prefer hotdogs on the grill over any cut of steak or anything else for that matter!

I think I am still too high strung for retirement.
Now that is an understatement! I have only a small fraction of your ambition and I can't tolerate retirement. Have fun at your new job.

Think Safety, Work Safely.

If it was 35 years ago, no problem, I would be happy to! In fact I probably did and more than likely had some various things to smoke.

Now I would be in a diabetic coma or having a flare up of pancreatitis or both before the second day was over.

I learned the hard way; you can do anything in life you want, but sooner or later there will be a price to be paid.

Good morning. It's raining and 71.
Let's see how long this laptop lasts...
Well... somehow I thought it would last longer than 4 hours...
That one got sent back to the store, posthaste. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, electronic infant mortality is spectacular.
I now have an HP envy 2 in 1. So far, it's lasted longer than the last one, which died a horrible death at 0600 today.

Congratulations Terry, that is a great machine, I'm envious!

I went the cheap route because my grandson and I have not been kind to these laptops. I still stayed with HP.

My Wife has had her HP laptop for sometime. It had no trouble upgrading to windows 10, no troubles at all in fact. HP is a great product if you don't drop it or sit on it like my grandson and I have done several times with ours.

In the MR forum, people are angry at PhotoBucket. .. Suddenly, PhotoBucket is blocking photos from being posted in forums unless members pay an excessive fee. It is like ransom in my opinion.

Photos that I have already posted in the forum are now blocked.

PhotoBucket, evidently, is managed by greedy jerks. ... I can think of worse names to call them.

I have been expecting some sort of move to charging a fee for storing pictures/videos on their site for some time, the constant emails promoting products has obviously not worked, but this sudden, unannounced money grab was not expected, nor is it ethical in my opinion. Virtually a pay up or b*&&#r off demand. It will of course effect those in particular who use the free accounts, it has already affected Jim's (HOexplorer) thread quite massively. Reading theough several of the reports I linked to above, they are sending out emails advising members that their accounts have been restricted and links have been broken to pictures previously posted.

It would be one thing to advise of an impending change to policy, or the implementing of an existing policy, not applied before, but to just dump it on members suddely as they have done, surely must break some code of business ethics. They won't care of course if freeby users go elsewhere or do B*&&#r off, no finacial loss to them.

Hah! I just worked out what that $399 would cost me in $AU including P/P's 3% fee. $AU534. Think I can buy a dedicated photo storage HDD for a lot less.

Gun'na try something. Have just copied a pic from one of my albums on P/B, interestingly when I went from the thumbnail to the full pic, the "copied" did not appear when clicking onto the IMG line, had to CTRL-C it. Now to see if it pastes etc into here, and how long it lasts.

Well, things sure are not working like they used to, just repeating the same thumbnail. Not pasting the enlarged pic as before. I'll leave it to see if you can see them, or how long before the link or links get broken.

Try another one. This is one I've taken, not copied from the net like the other one.

tinwald_1984_small1_zpsq0xzjnsl.png
This was supposed to be from a different album and a totally different picture. The other oddball thing is, when copying, a double line of URL code is appearing in the field, but out of alignment. I guess I can say that whatever is going on, I'm not getting the same results as I was before. Conclusion: P/B is now for me, a useless load of wasted space.

Have been reading through the terms and noticed that the storing of non original pictures/videos is not permitted. "Free account : Each individual Member gets one free account that provides 2 GB of free storage or space available for your original photo files, or videos under 10min." Not sure if this is how it's always been, but I sure am in violation of that, many of mine are copied from the net.

Ray, the storage limit has been in place for some time. I am still able to link to my photos and post them in forums:

Interesting Terry, I only have 14% of the 2GB used in my account, so just what is going on with my ability to post pics here now, I've no idea, but Jim (HOexplorer) on his large thread, has had picture links broken, but he also says his limit is not reached either. It is definitely an action by Photobucket, it's well reported, but it may be that they haven't gotten to everybody yet.

Good Morning Folks. 72° and clear skies this morning. Should get back into the low 90's today. Grilled corn on the cob and finished a rack of spareribs on the grill yesterday evening, sure was good. Too wet to go into the garden yesterday, so I am bracing for an onslaught of tomatoes today. Because of the cool spell we had about ten days ago, most of the plants have set additional fruits and thus the season will last through July before going on hiatus until mid-September.
Out in the train shed, I had to run the shop-vac for quite a while, hadn't done it in a few months and the grass clippings that get tracked in were mounting, especially after the rains the past two Saturdays. Afterward, I spent a little time weathering the DPM structure that I am working on. Came into the house and downloaded a few pictures from the internet that I think that I can manipulate and print to make decent displays in the windows.

Terry - Wow! Four hours! What can I say?
Louis - You'll be welcome to visit anytime.

Photobucket - I read of Jim's problem with them in his thread yesterday. What an absolute shame. 430 pages of lost documentation. I don't use PB; I have always posted directly to the forum. It's easy and trouble-free for me. Seems that whatever they did will backfire on them in short order. In the meantime, many millions of users are peeved with them (rightfully so) judging from what I have read. Sure is going to mess up many threads on this and lots of other forums.
Lesson to be learned: Beware of anything "FREE".

Everybody have a great day.

Willie

Now, this is once again, interesting (if it posts), instead of copying the pictures IMG bar from either the thumbnail or the enlarged picture that appears when you click on the thumbnail, I copied (right click and copy) the address bar URL and pasted that into the field here. Now to post it and see what happens.

Aha, by clicking on that link that has posted, you are taken to the enlarged picture on my P/B album's page, which is still not as it was before.

Good morning. It's relatively clear and 73.
This computer seems to be behaving much more better than the previous one. I don't know if it was the computer or something bizarre like a power glitch on the last one, but I decided not to take any chances, and got a completely different brand and type. The short-lived one was an Acer E15 model, with an I5 processor, 1Tb HDD, and 4 Gb RAM.
The new one is an HP Envy 15 2 in 1, with AMD FX processor, 8Gb RAM, and also a 1Tb HDD. After it was all over, it was $100 more than the cheap Acer. This one was an open-box special from the Geeks, and, after all discounts were taken and my super-duper membership applied, it ended up roughly half price. Time will tell if this was a sound decision financially, I've viewed the service manuals for this, and have decided I really, really don't want to open it up to repair it...
I do know it got really exciting around here when the motherboard on the Acer went up in smoke...
