Good morning. 62 degrees to start off the day. It will be a busy one. My son and his wife are on their way out to help finish staining the front porch, and one of my grandsons will be out to mow the lawn. The dumpster and cedar arrived yesterday to close in the lower part of the porch. That will be next weekends project.
Dave - I am a big fan of Chevy trucks. My favorite is my '72 Chevy heavy three quarter ton 4X4. Bought it new and still have it. I did replace the motor at 256,000 miles because the valve seals were going. Put in a new Goodwrench crate motor, a 4 bolt main 350, the same as the original motor. I also have a 2014 half ton Silverado, but think I have it sold. It does ride a lot better than the old '72, but it can't tow or haul what I need. The '72 does ride like the axles are welded to the frame until there's about 500 pounds in the bed, but I really like that old truck. It had the geared transfer case and the 4 speed with the granny gear. I have literally ripped trees out of the ground with it. About 35 years ago my neighbor was trying to dig up a willow tree but was having no luck at all. Took the old Chevy to the tree, put a tow rope around the trunk and ripped it out of the ground. It is still a healthy tree in his yard. I was thinking about replacing it with a 5 speed manual but a friend who is a Chevy mechanic said the the old transmission is a lot better.
Willie - We probably grill 4 to 5 days a week in the summer.
Garry - Must be good to finally be home again.
My son just pulled in, I'm outta here, later.
