Thanks for the kind words, Guys! That's what I love about this forum. I keep saying: "God, Why don't you let me win that Powerball so I can help those in need?" He keeps telling me, "Read my lips ... You have to buy a ticket"!

Whatever MIL has - when they send her home they say to scrub everything down with bleach - any surface that has been touched.

LOUIS - darn ... Man, be careful .. Just glad that no one walked up to you right after and said, "Did you slip?"
You know .. Stephanie could probably give you some lessons on landing? I understand that she has been practicing a lot.

TERRY ... Just so you know .. my B-UNIT handles money wery well. It hardly touches her palm before it goes out the door! She has to spend it before inflation takes ahold - lol.

I didn't really think the family would be that demanding in the face of such conditions. I'm sure a comfortable and accommodating plan will emerge.

LOUIS .. I might add that any Landing that you can walk away from constitutes a good one. If you can use the airplane again - that is a great plus!

I am having surgery on the 22nd! I wonder how well I am going to be able to maneuver around and help the Spousal Unit with her duties?
You're not going to be able, it's that simple. If you're going to have all those extra hands in the house, put them to work.

Good afternoon. It's raining and 64.
I just returned from taking the dog for a follow-up visit. She seems to be doing a lot better, the vet said we caught it really early. The dog is now on a delicate-digestion-diet. AKA "bland". Today's visit was only $100...
My wife called my nephew, to let him know he should leave their dog at home this time (dinner and gift exchange). He then informed my wife his entire family was really sick with cold or flu, but they'd be here at the appointed time for dinner. Umm, "not just 'no', but "Hell No!'".
They'll be here over New Year weekend, instead...

Dang, i hope everyones luck turns around for the better! I was out in my storage container scrounging up some stuff to send Eric. I found 2 pictures of my old layout (just frame work) and a couple old digital cameras. The cameras i believe have a lot of pictures of my layout, but they wont Power up and they dont have a sim card. BUMMER!

ERIC- This is what i found so far. There is an arch span bridge that you might enjoy building, also an IHC engine house, an intermountain flatcar, a Lonestar flatbed trailer, a couple Woodland Scenics kits, super glue, model glue, elmers glue, exacto, and some testors paint and brushes. Hopefully this will keep you busy for a while! I also have a couple building kits ordered, i will send them your way soon. And i forgot to pick up sandpaper.

Afternoon All,

Did a couple small chores today, then son and I sliced a partially frozen pork tenderloin (meat slicer) for the schnitzel we make for New Years. I was looking at the big curve area (Running Bear Pass) and I decided that I will actually need 4 of the warning towers, so I made 2 more but I need to order the horns for them. After I get those I will paint all 4 together.

CMMR- Congratulations on your granddaughter.

Terry- That's not good. MOH handles the finances here.

Ken- Nice video. This is our daughters first year for a artificial tree.

Toot- Big roach.

Justin- Hopefully Santa will be good to you.

Louis- Please be careful and take care of yourself.

Eric- Other than being really thin you are looking good.

Willie- Nice buildings. It's hard to believe they are card stock. Good looking bench work.

Sherrel- You definitely don't want to be exposed to that. A couple of years back both our daughter and I got a virus Christmas Eve. That put a kibosh on the family get together. Of course I was scheduled to work (EMS) Christmas. I couldn't call off so I went in. A couple of hours on shift my supervisor saw me and said "You look like crap" and told me to go home, and he ran the calls for me that day.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Eric, i forgot to mention. I couldnt find all the materials to build trees, but when i do find it i will send it your direction.

Say BEADY Thanks for the remark. I have no idea what to expect afterwards; the nurse told me on the pre opt that I should move around and walk as much as I could as soon as I could. I'm pretty decent on handling pain except for kidney stones. Kidney stones make me wish that I could die! Begged them once at the ER to kill me, but they just laughed.

Say RON -- That's really in keeping with the Christmas Spirit to do that for ERIC. Last I knew, ERIC works like the Mad Hatter! I don't know what he is going to do for the second hour!
P.S. Glad you made it back home safely.

Where's CHET morning? Recond he is frozen?

I'm here. It's a toasty 21 degrees here right now. Time for shorts after the temps we had in the negative yesterday. Didn't get above -7 and dropped to only -14 last night but clouds rolled in and the temps went up.

Willie - I well know what goes on in Texas when it gets cold and especially when there is any snow. I have a friend who grew up in Livingston and now lives out of Austin. They had a bit of snow there and I saw the results on the TV. What a laugh. My friend said that some of her friends had commented that she should know how to drive in those conditions and wondered why she would stay home. She came right back and said I stay home because you don't have a clue how to drive in it.

Terry - Sorry to hear about your situation. Hope things work out alright. We recently had a couple of trips to the vet with out dogs. $900 for one and $500 for the other. I feel your pain. Hope the pooch is feeling better.

Ron - That a really nice gesture getting all of the train stuff for Eric. I have tried to call him on his new cell phone, but no answer.

Sherrel - Sounds like everyone is having some kind of trouble. Hope the surgery goes well. We will be at out son's for Christmas. First time every we didn't have it here.

Louis - Sorry to hear about refresher course with gravity. Took one a few years ago and thought nothing of it but after a couple of years my wife insisted I go to a doctor. Wound up having rotator surgery and also found the the bicep was separated over 90%. Take care of yourself.

I did spend a good part of yesterday and today down in the train room. Cleaned all of the track for the first time in more years than I want to admit to. Didn't have many problems as the entire basement is finished and really unused except for the train room. Ran train for the most part while cleaning was going on. My DC locomotives were running flawlessly, but when a DCC equipped locomotive was running, there were a few spots where it would have a stalling problem. They are a lot more picky than the DC locomotives. after the cleaning was done, I put the little 2-6-0 to the test and ran just fine pulling a passenger train. Sure is a gutless little bugger on the grades.

"Super Trees"!!! That's what it was that I got for tree work. David (LASM) did a video on doing them up nice. I just never got arount around to it.

Dang Man! You are spoiling me!!!
I ain't used to that.

My folks sure aren't going to know what to think about it.

Dad just reminded me I have a PET scan tomorrow morning at 0800 so I'll be calling it an early night tonight. Besides I'm feeling dam sick to my stomach.

I do know the problems at our house aren't as bad as many others. It's just that the hits keep comin'. Kind of like being pecked to death by ducks...
I know what you mean Terry. I got divorced which is expensive enough but last Sunday my refrigerator died and I had to wait until pay day to order the part. Thankfully I have a deep freeze and with this weather the garage has made a great temporary refrigerator. Yesterday I was washing all of the refrigerator shelves and getting it all nice and clean because it was empty. When I was about done I realized I was standing in a puddle. The garbage disposal had water running out of the motor end. Friday I tried to use my debit card to order groceries and it wouldn't work. I called the bank Saturday morning and they said it had been compromised with a bunch of cards. Thankfully I was able to get a temporary one. So today I got my groceries and put a bucket under the disposal. I am hoping to see the board for the refrigerator tomorrow. Now it is so cold my refrigerator items are freezing in the garage.
I have decided things could be worse. Lol!

Good evening gang!

Cold, damp day here today. We did manage to get the Christmas lights up finally, and SWMBO has the upstairs all decorated. I had to go to w*rk for about 4 hours today,as the whole dealership is going live tomorrow with a new computer software system. When I left just after 4, the service departments printers were M.I.A.. Tomorrow is going to be,,,,,,,interesting?

Chet.
Cardstock buildings? Could have fooled me, the bank looks GREAT!

Louis
Come heck or high water, I'm gonna get your boxfull of trains to ya soon, BUT I'm not gonna deliver them to Bayview General! Be careful man! we ain't kids no more!

Ken. Enjoy this maybe final "tree chopping" . I remember the final excursion with my hooligans. SWMBO said small tree, we came home with a 9 footer! But it was fun. We dont do synthetic though. We get little evergreens now and I try to keep them alive til spring, then we plant them. I don't remember the scientific name, but they mature at 12-15 ft, and make a good windbreak.

Easiest tree I've ever lugged home!
Speaking of the "hooligans" all 5 will be here Christmas eve, with spouses and chillins in tow! ;) Should be 20 souls in the house!

Eric Sounds to me like you are gonna be a busy man soon! Awesome!

Terry That stuff usually comes in 3's. Shoo that black cloud away!

Sherrel Healing prayers for you pal!

Sandman time gang, L8ter!

The block casting is from 1972, the head castings are from 1971.
Doesn't mean that was when they were cast, but when the casting was made.
