Good Morning Everyone;

The bad news is that it's -31°C (-24°F) here this morning.

The good news is that my wife and I became first time grandparents today. Our oldest daughter had a 6lb 7oz baby girl, Ada Mae, or Addy for short at 1:30 this AM. Mother and daughter are doing fine, and we are off to visit them in the hospital shortly. Then we get to go through it all again in about 3 months, when our younger daughter is due!

Have a great day everyone!

Congratulations! Best wishes for Moms and Babies!

Congratulations, GARY ... Now your life will never be the same! First you get your own kids grown and out of the house - then BAM, comes another whole set - lol.
Best wishes and good health to all.

Good morning. Checked the thermometer at 0700 and it was reading minus 21.8. Not going to even think of going out. I have a nice warm train room in the basement. Think I'll spend some time down there today.

It was fun and game when we went to town last night for out bowling league. The city of Bozeman has got to have the worst snow removal program in the country. If God put it there, let him take it away. The highway was no problem as the driving lanes were clear and dry until you hit the city limits. Acouple of inches of snow with vehicles sliding all over the place. Sure am glad that I use winter tires.

Ken -
Sounds like you had an interesting trip.

Terry - Sure is a bummer with the truck, but it does sound like you have a decent dealership being that they are trying to do something for you. Hope things work out for you. I will be waiting to see what happens.

Garry - No cookies. Someone ate them all up yesterday. Have a safe trip. Not the best time of the year for traveling.

Gary P
- Congrats on the birth of your grand daughter. Someone to spoil.

Eric -
I really feel for you. Working on trains could keep you mind occupied.

Toot - Nice photo.

Think I'll have another cup of coffee and head to the basement.

Later.

Afternoon fellers. I hope everyone is well. Today is the start of 10 days with no work. It's vacation time!!! Anyways I reckon I'll get to work on the layout today. I meant to post a pic of the added scenery around my camp houses but I got caught up in other things and forgot. So I'll leave this here with y'all.

Oh and for y'all who feel like life may get you down.

Good afternoon. It's cloudy and 43.
We just returned from taking our dog to the vet. She started vomiting yesterday evening, and the vomiting has gotten worse. I'll spare all y'all the gruesome details, but we're hoping she has just managed to contract a virus somehow.

Afternoon All,

I made 2 warning horn towers out of styrene, Cal-Scale train horns, and a couple of pieces of 26 ga wire. I will paint them tomorrow or Monday.

Sherrel- Phil is doing fine. He looks and acts healthier than earlier in the year. Nice looking dog.

Terry- Sorry to hear of your train and truck issues. I hope you dog gets well very soon.

Eric- I remember you offering. I did the same thing for Phil's layout and he said no.

Ken- Tell Stephanie to take her time and be safe on the road.

Ron- Congrats on your winning bid at work.

Toot- Excellent photo's and history.

CA Dave- No I don't run it. My layout time frame is in the early 50's and by that time their use had pretty much ended except for special cases.

Garry- Have a safe and wonderful time with family and friends.

Justin- The buildings look nice with the ground cover and trees.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Currently at the vet's office, bailing out the dog. Hopefully this visit fixes the problem, we can't afford the $365 per episode too often. It's very painful for dog and wallet, not to mention her parents (us)...

Sorry to hear the news Terry, prayers for the pup forthcoming.

I made an unpleasant financial discovery this evening, the end result of which is, my wife has been relieved of possession of the checkbook.

Good evening. 36*F with melting ice and slush in central MD.

Curt - thanks for your concern about Stephanie, she got back safely on Wednesday. I was worried about my other daughter who was coming in from Ohio thru all the messy weather, but she too arrived safe and sound at ~6:30pm.

Terry - sorry to hear about this latest trial your going thru! I, too, have sent up additional prayers.

Not much to report on the mrr front; there's too much holiday-oriented family activity going on here for me to find the time to focus on any modeling projects. Though I did take time to watch a few Youtubes of train action at the Arcelor-Mittal Steel mill in Chicago at a location known as CP502:
CP502.

Sounds to me like she made an err for which you made an executive decision and "she's fired" :-)

I had a good long look at those paper/card-stock structures this evening. I think I'll give some of them a try. They sure are a lot cheaper than the r3eal kits. Easily hlf to 3/4s as much.

Greetings my dear friends....
Another four Milwaukee Road slides arrived yesterday, in action shots of Alco RS, RSC and RSD's I think....
This will take the count up to 20 on Milwaukee Road and a handful of my other favourite railroads....
If Santa doesn’t bring me a scanner, I'll buy myself one for my birthday in January....I hope! lol

Have a nice day everyone!
