BTW .. I think the "companies" caved in too quick on the pipeline. Should have left those people sit another six weeks or so in the cold. Getting to where nothing can be built anymore without someone's objections. Should have heard the whining around here when SCE wanted to bring a HV line through the wine country. SCE finally gave up, and I think went through mountainous terrain - then they bitched about that as well!

I'm not sure it is about the oil as much as how it is moved, the oil is being transported as we type by truck and rail and nobody is blocking the rail lines or layin in the road!! Those roads and rails must cross all the rivers the pipe would have to and it is happening NOW, not in the future!

Is it about the oil or who makes the money off moving it?

I was thinking the same thing as you. We are expecting an arctic blast in that part of the country. Lets ee how hardy they are.

Afternoon All,

Did some chores around the house then off to Wally World for gifts and groceries. It feels like we were there for hours.. oh wait, we were:(. MOH just took off to pick up eldest grandson from school and I need to do it on Wednesday. Big plans for Saturday. I'm going over to Mom and Dad's for a late lunch somewhere then Dad (retired Army) and I (retired Navy) are going to watch the Army/Navy game. Go NAVY.

D&J Ken- Nice looking loco and video. Do you have a 4 track main throughout your layout?

Toot- Sounds like fun planning and building the club extension. Sorry to hear of your DCC woes.

Chet- That is always a great picture either before or after scenery.

I hope everyone has a good night.

OK .. I am losing it with this computer! After pecking away with the ipad this morning (and it is sooo slow), I plugged in the charger on the Asus and said that I will give it one more chance. I had left it on with the little wheel spinning all night to run down the battery. Low and behold - it booted right up and everything seems to be OK - at this moment. I would take it to the Geeks, but I desperately need it the next couple days. Not sure what caused it to lock up and tell me that it needed to repair itself - thats two-three times that it has done that little move out of the clear blue!
MS has succeeded in driving me nuts. Wife has done everything with her MAC except run over it, and it just keeps going. I think it is time for me to start looking in that direction.

The outside track on the curve is the classification yard fiddle track.
The next track is the A/D track for the classification yard.
The next two tracks are the mainlines.

Karl .. Still waiting for you to clear up the "fantasy" remark?
e!

SHERREL, While the WM had a considerable fleet of F7bs, only 1, #408, ever made it to wear the red, white, and black "circus" scheme.
Once Chessie took over, they were trade in bait.

Sherrel - I have a fix for your I pad. It's called a hammer.

Thanks, KARL. I would have never, never figured out that one. Bout the only thing I know about the WM is that they also. Had some Russism 2-10-0 which is my favorite. Steamer. The Frisco loved them on the branch lines.
Still, it is a nice painting!

Sherrel, your local Best Buy in Riverside has this (I just checked):http://www.bestbuy.com/site/apple-m...-flash-storage-silver/6444006.p?skuId=6444006

This is the laptop my wife uses, and I can't pry it out of her hands. She was a die-hard Windows person, until her laptop was "unavailable", and she had to use it for a few days.
Battery life unplugged is over 10 hours.

I feel so lost right now.
I tried to fire up my video editor to do some video work and I think the power supply is shot. That would be about $450 to replace.
This is a pro-sumer level video editor that I use for professional video jobs. I has four high speed processors and a lot of other expensive components.
Do I just let it go and give up doing serious video editing? Do I just settle for the mediocre video editor on YouTube to only splice together video clips?
I built this computer station back in 2004. I works into two large monitors and authors in BlueRay.
I have a couple of jobs on it right now that I haven't finished.
I've been doing professional video since 1995.

Ken, is the power supply something that could be found in a home computer, or is it a very specific model?

Louis - love the picture. One of my favorite trains.

A quick whine and I'm done for the evening. Got a call from the wife this morning saying that she had a headlight out. I asked her to pick up a bulb and that I would put it in tonight.

She gets home in the dark and the temp is about 4 degrees. Like most cars today you have to take out the entire headlight assembly. Not so easy. After using a few colorful words I finally gave up trying to figure out how to remove it and went to my laptop that I have all of my automotive info in. Back outside to the cold and after a few more colorful words I finally was able to replace the bulb.

They should require the engineers who design cars to also have to work on them.

Finally warming up with a glass of Devil's Cut on ice.

Later.
