Good morning.
20 degrees with a couple on inches of overnight snow.
Didn't get much done train wise yesterday as we took out youngest grand daughter to town for a Christmas play. She loved it. Had her hair all done up and her fancy dress on. The theater was built sometime in the 30's and ihas been renovted back to its original condition. For a small town, there is a lot of local talent. Great play.
Ken - D&J - Sound like you enjoyed the trip. The idea of adding outside power is good. Being out here in Montana, we do see a lot of foreign power coming through the area, including an occasional N&S locomotive.
Curt - Nice work train photo. Like the Alco.
Toot - Someone sure is proud of that locomotive. You could get a whole fleet of locomotives for that price.
Louis - Really like the WM picture. You sure come up with some good ones.
Justin - A little bit of work can quiet down the old Athearn locomotives. A little lubrication in the gear towers on each truck would be a good place to start. I still have a number of the nickle silver replacement wheels for the old Athearn locomotives. That was probably one of the first upgrades that I would make to them. Sure was happy to see Atlas come out with their line of Alco locomotives. That's when I changed my locomotive fleet over to the Alcos. No work at all was needed to get them to run great right out of the box.
Eric - A special good morning to you. Glad to see you in here.
Karl - Like the signs. I can use a couple of them.
Willie - You are making progress with the bench work, that is what counts. A few bumps in the highway (or garden) are to be expected.
Although I didn't get to spend a lot of time in the train room over the weekend, I did start planting a few trees on the hillside behind the roundhouse. Have more to put in when I get the time.
