Good morning. starting off at 28 degrees with a little overnight snow on the ground.

Louis - Congratulations to your wife. Fantastic !!!

Ken - i do not envy your commute in that Virginia traffic. Sure makes me glad that we like in a more rural setting. When we take out road trips, we always (well, almost always) time things so we don't have to put up with heavy traffic. I live 12 miles from where I work and it usually only takes me 15 minutes, sometimes less if I don't catch traffic lights that weren't there a few years ago.

Johnny - The tree is up already? With just the wife and I in the house and being fairly well off of the beaten path, we no longer put up Christman lights as they would be hard to see from the roads. Don't even put up a tree or decorate for Christmas. I am not Scrooge, but for us it really isn't a necessity.

Justin - Glad that it was an easy fix for the locomotive.

Eric - Hope you're feeling a bit better today. You really sounded down in the dumps.

Curt - There are times I wish that I didn't have a computer, but then I couldn't join you guys on the forum. Maybe you're just not holding your mouth right.

Toot - I do have Win 10 on this work computer, but still have Win 7 on the home computer and have no plans to step it up to 10. Just don't really care for it at all.

Karl - Sure sounds like Monday you in the butt. Should have stayed in bed.

Catch you later.

BLARG!

"Honey, why do you spend most of your time prowling MRR websites?"

Because EVERY time I wonder what is happening in the "real" world and "stick my head up", turn on the radio and try to see what passes for "news" on the web.....IT STINKS! Five minutes and I started getting ILL! No, nope, no way is THAT going to intrude upon my carefully crafted reality! WHOO! "Everybody hates everybody today and the sky is falling, click here, and ,here, and, here, and ,here to know more, but first a million popup ads for fake "news" stories about "Cleavage throughout History" and "Awesomely timed photos!" EEEEK! And then all they do is PUSH those "happy pills", all it does is keep em compliant to the overdose of useless information, which is mostly that they need to take their daily dose of "Focusin" which keeps them face down, glued to the mobile device! Nuff ta make ya go back to REAL hard drugs like we did em in the "before time" which is what I call the pre internet era.
I never got so scared trippin on ACID at night BY MYSELF in a graveyard or walking in the minefields of the "Z" as I do nowadays watching the "news"!

If an EMP would not kill my trains too I might not think it was such a bad idea, get em to look UP for cryin out loud!

The neighbors got some of their lighting up recently....

Meanwhile over at my house, I got my decorations finished!

I'd like to be able to get away with THAT set up "rhoward"! SWMBO insists on those icicle lights all the way across the front porch, I've paired it down to that and I consider it a victory. The only reason we don't have one(or more!) of those blowup sno globes in the yard is because Walmart was sold out of em! LOL! I'm sure she will buy one in January for next year!

Ray - Great photo, Another reason I no longer put light up for Christmas. I don't bounce as good as I used to.

Morning Everyone! It's 48 going up to 66 they say and it's clear with lots of sunshine. I think that I will go play with the decorations later on; seeing Ray's pictures has me excited.

LOUIS - A REALLY big congratulations to your bride! That is awesome! Sometimes I wish the "black cars" would come and wisk a few people away ... it's a shame that there are so many who do not realize how great they have it here.

BRUCE - Still smiling about your post .. that was quite funny.

JOHNNY Raincoat = I will have a couple those doughnuts that you left and a cuppa joe for me - thanks.

Too many posts - can't remember them all!

Good morning borderline early afternoon fellers. Finished up putting together my other camp house. Got everything where I want it. Now add some trees in. Don't think I'll place them so close to the right of way this time as these are going to be in a curve and I don't want any issues through there.

So aside from adding small details I like the look and hopefully once I find time....tomorrow morning I'll start to put some trees in to build on it some more. I'm glad my C&O locomotive was an easy fix. As well I found where my issues lay with my track. My short section has come loose and it's worked my joiners loose causing the track to short out. I'll have to find a way to anchor it to the layout and that should cure my issues with that.

Yes, KARL, The beatings will continue until moral improves!
When I was in the Coast Guard, that actually happened once. It was customary to grant early liberty (end the workday) at noon on Fridays, but a new Chief at the hospital decided we were too sloppy and had bad attitudes, so he announced there would be no more early liberty until we shaped up. He announced this in public without consulting his immediate superior, the Chief Warrant Officer who was the hospital administrator. The CWO was obligated to back him up for appearances, but cancelled the order after two Fridays. There's nothing like the military for throwing your weight around.

Got a call from ServePro. They're ready to go ahead with the asbestos abatement (ripping up the tile floor in the basement), and say it'll probably take a couple of days. Then we'll have to see about laying down a coat of epoxy non-skid paint. I'm tempted to hold off until after the holidays, but then I wonder what the point would be. Besides, the sooner it's done the sooner I can get my layout restarted.

The wife decorated the inside of the house right after Thanksgiving, but the neighbors have asked me not to put up outdoor lights anymore.

LOL! I love the guy in the background "It's on the gray-ound, it's on the gray-ound!" over and over!

Wonder what caused it, he was not going that fast.
One of the cars rode up onto the frog on the switch and dropped off onto the ground.

Justin - The buildings look fine. A few trees and some shrubs and you'll have a nice scene. I have seen that video before. Sure is a lot easier to clean uo in HO scale instead of 1:1.

Beady - Asbestos ! What a pain. Not good. Sound like your plane for an epoxy paint should be a good floor.

I needed a bit of small diameter soldering wire. Soes, on a lark, I ordered a small spool off E-bay with Free-Shipping from China for the unsightly sum of $1.38. It came in the mail yesterday after almost three weeks. I flunked metrics along the way many, many years ago, but this stuff is thinner than the hairs on my head. Nice little spool of .03mm x 30m wire - and it says rosin core too.
I had no idea that solder could be made that small - surprise, surprise!
