It is the way of the world these days. You have to do all the paperwork, photographs etc. etc. etc. that (at one time) was all done for you. Get it wrong and no holiday.

I am looking at an old cruise brochure from the days of my first few. (Research for my new story.)
I remember booking and paying for the cruise.
No more forms to fill.
A bulky letter arriving with all the details and tickets etc.. etc..
Going on holiday and receiving the service as advertised

Norwegian Jewel looks a lovely ship. Post some pictures when you return.
We've been on her three times already... which voyage do you need pics from?

the Promenade wall art is no longer there. Painted over about 10 years ago... But my wife pointed out that the photog looked like me in my wedding photog mode...

I'm back, too many pages to get caught up on. Short handed at work, Mom and Dad not doing well in the nursing home, and the garden is producing faster than we can keep up.
On a positive note I was given 18 Intermountain 4750 grain cars for helping a friend move his collection into a storage unit while he's in rehab. My CSX AC4400 from Scale Trains came today, haven't even opened the box yet.
How about a nightcap Flo 5 am comes early.

Well, howdy there internet subjects, and those who need a helper engine just to get our butts in gear sometimes

It's Troy again.

I spent yesterday printing out some 3D American Civil War soldiers from a Kickstarter I sponsored. These are a tad too big for American N-scale, but I'm afraid to take them smaller due to their rifles already breaking as I remove them from the supports

Here are the command stands with poles ready for flags:

And some of the troopers. I upscaled this batch to 105% to see if that helped the guns. Not really, but it brought them closer in line to the 13.5mm scale (head to toe a person is 13.5mm) from the Warlord Games Epic scale range of battle minis.

The semi-painted blue troopers are the Warlord Epic scale minis for scale comparison.

I'm thinking that - for my N-scale layout - at least one cornfield will have some heavy fighting, especially with some of the Iron Brigade (some of the Wisconsin Boys, and one regiment - the 19th Indiana). I may have to do some forced perspective to keep the size difference from being too noticeable.

Gearing up for the family reunion on the wife's side that we're hosting this weekend. It'll be at our community clubhouse on Sunday. Weather is calling for sunny and warm that day (upper 80s F) following a week of storms and rain. I'm hoping that Fri and Sat will be good enough days for me to fire up the Kamado and smoke a brisket and a pork shoulder for the reunion. I don't mind the rain, but prefer not to be a lightning rod just to wrap the meat half-way through the cook.

That's all for now. Enjoy your days.

what up internet folks and forum friends
