Well, howdy there internet subjects, and those who need a helper engine just to get our butts in gear sometimes
It's Troy again.
I spent yesterday printing out some 3D American Civil War soldiers from a Kickstarter I sponsored. These are a tad too big for American N-scale, but I'm afraid to take them smaller due to their rifles already breaking as I remove them from the supports
Here are the command stands with poles ready for flags:
And some of the troopers. I upscaled this batch to 105% to see if that helped the guns. Not really, but it brought them closer in line to the 13.5mm scale (head to toe a person is 13.5mm) from the Warlord Games Epic scale range of battle minis.
The semi-painted blue troopers are the Warlord Epic scale minis for scale comparison.
I'm thinking that - for my N-scale layout - at least one cornfield will have some heavy fighting, especially with some of the Iron Brigade (some of the Wisconsin Boys, and one regiment - the 19th Indiana). I may have to do some forced perspective to keep the size difference from being too noticeable.
Gearing up for the family reunion on the wife's side that we're hosting this weekend. It'll be at our community clubhouse on Sunday. Weather is calling for sunny and warm that day (upper 80s F) following a week of storms and rain. I'm hoping that Fri and Sat will be good enough days for me to fire up the Kamado and smoke a brisket and a pork shoulder for the reunion. I don't mind the rain, but prefer not to be a lightning rod just to wrap the meat half-way through the cook.
That's all for now. Enjoy your days.
