The butter is not to keep it from sticking or the actual cooking. It is added to provide flavor, depth, etc. They do taste good. I think Smashburger also does a variant with butter but I could be wrong.
I might consider trying it, but it seems wrong to me. A perfectly cooked burger using 70/30 ground beef has all the flavor I want.

Burger King butters their biscuits for their sausage biscuit, I don't like it.

For those newbies thinking they have joined a cookery forum.

No it is not a shipping forum.

A time long gone that was seen four miles from my home.

Well, howdy there internet subjects and those with cats

It's troy again

got my lab tests back from yesterday. This is for our health insurance wellness discount. Wife works for the world's largest clinical laboratory company, so free lab tests. We have to meet 3 out of 5 requirements:
❌BMI < 30 (fail for me)
✅ BP in the good range... took 3 tries, but we got it into my normal range. I didn't even listen to polytics stuff that morning.
✅ Non-smoker
✅ A1C in the good range
✅ Cholesterol in the good range

So bring me the big plate of sausage and biscuits with extra bacon, FLO

We're at the end of the month, and we still don't have word from Medicaid about Mom getting full coverage for the nursing home. And Soc Sec is about to drop into her bank account on the 1st. Here in Indiana, she has to keep her total $$ under $2k. So I have to convert some of that to cash. My sister has a debit card to that account, but doesn't want to keep cash at home due to having two teens at home that have a loose grasp of "that's grandmas money". Both are troubled teens and my sister has her hands full raising her granddaughters.

My mother was originally appointed guardian of the teens, but had to admit she couldn't do it any longer about 10 years ago. So my sister got her granddaughters. (the mother of those girls has some severe psych issues from her father's side). Let's just say this isn't a spare the rod and spoil the child issue. One is doing a lot of self-harm, flirting with suicide because she wants to be in a mental hospital where she feels safe.

So, back to my mother, I see why that sis doesn't want to keep cash at home. It's too easy for one of them to want something and forget the connection of Grandma's money... when they're focussed on a mental problem instead of reality.

Which means I get to go to mom's bank today. Unfortunately, there are none of that chain in our area. Closest one is 45 min away. We might as well drive the extra 20 minutes and take mom coffee and a donut.

So that's what is on my plate for today. Good thing I got the book sent off to the Alpha Reader yesterday.

Good morning from So. Central Wisconsin where at 6:45am it is 53f degrees and at noon they say it should be 83. If this was Winter time that big a change in 5.5 hours would be talked about big time by our local TV star guessers. I was a bum yesterday. While I didn’t have any plans I did nothing other than my haircut in the morning. I bounced between the south facing deck and the front porch. Actually even had to plug my IPadPro in to recharge around 3, so I took a 30 minute nap while that happened.

Today, I should cut the grass, gas the car, wash the car, pickup my meds, vacuum the upstairs and do the grocery shopping. I will also starting at 7am put away my IPadPro until 7pm tonight. I definitely over did it online yesterday.

I did receive a message yesterday from Scaletrains that my 6 tank cars were shipped! I also received messages from 4 commission clients that their Scaletrain tank cars are coming direct to me. So I will clean up and organize the weathering bench that has maybe 4 of my own projects on it. If things hold to form I will have a few other ST tank cars delivered by clients that ship the cars from their homes. SO, probably Monday I will start receiving the cars. I will put mine away but I will at least inspect and clean what comes in. I do play golf next week but I will be home every night

Hopefully the model train funk has passed
Enjoy the day

Morning all,

71° and partly sunny going for a high of 92° later.

Saw Deadpool & Wolverine last night. I haven't laughed so hard in quite a while. Cameo's by a bunch of different Marvel characters and the actors that played them. Even a surprise twist by one actor whoplayed 2 different characters over the years.

Going to a retirement seminar later by a company that says it's a fiduciary. Either way I hope to get some info. I'm getting close enough that I need to figure out what to do with accounts before I retire. I have been considering rolling what I can into a single account. A couple o fthe accounts are basically sitting idle. I've added nothing to them in years.

Olympics have started. I'm one who really doesn't care. I do wish them all well and hope they succeed in their quests, but I just have never felt the hype.

Good Morning All. Cloudy and 72° on the SFW estate this morning. Another cooler than normal day is forecast for today, although it may get above 90°. Yesterday's high was only 87°. I'd be happy if all July's were this cool. Pool is maintaining an 82°-83° range right now, a lot better than the 88°-89° range in June.

Same old tasks here yesterday, the cooler weather has allowed some extended outdoor work sessions, interspersed by trips into the pool. I made a rack of spareribs for supper last night, along with some homemade coleslaw. Tonight it is grilled burgers.
This afternoon I take my wife to the DFW airport for her flight to Pensacola FL where my daughter will meet her and begin a week at Perdido Beach AL. I'll be on vacation at home, alone! Other than girls in bikini's, I have very little interest in being on the beach for vacations. I make the trip to Gulf Shores (just a bit west of Perdido) once a year and that is enough. I know where all of the model railroad museums are between here and there along either the north route, IH-20; or along the south route, IH-10. I check out other museums along the way as well.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I continued with the layout revitalization. That's what I have to call it. Even though the area that I started with is shielded with the upper level, there was some very evident issues from the leaking roof after the tornado. I believe that much was due to the excessive humidity in there and not from direct water damage. In keeping with my usual process, I will be removing each individual structure and taking it over to the workbench for cleaning. Normal dusting wasn't working as the dust/dirt seemed to be glued or embedded into the roofs/walls.
I started with the south side of the turnback loop. Never named the street there, so we'll call it street "A".

The first three structures from the left are F.W. Woolworth's, O'Weeds Greenery and Buck's Bookstore.

Woolworth's is an older ConCor kit from their town square series, other manufacturer's have also had this tooling over the years. The roof looks terrible. I wasn't able to clean it satisfactorily, so I removed it and it's in the paint booth right now. While it looks weathered, it's really ugly in person which led to that decision.

The gentleman out front was revived and has resumed his walk on the sidewalk.
O'Weed's greenery just needed some general cleaning. It is one of the IHC "Homes of Yesterday" series, again put out by several manufacturer's over the years.

Buck's also just needed cleaning. This is a Smalltown USA kit. I scratchbuilt a sale table for the front of the structure.

Unfortunately the table is hard to actually see given it's position on the layout. This wasn't where I originally intended to place it, and may yet move it. The area behind this row of structures is not finished because I don't know exactly what to do with it!

Tom O - OK, so the butter burgers aren't really anything special. I have actually done that a few times (on steaks as well), just before adding the cheese to the burgers. I just never called them that.
Chad - If I buy a pizza to go from anywhere, I just buy the meat lovers variety and add additional toppings when I get it home. Because of the distance involved, I usually have to put it in the air-fryer for a couple of minutes anyway. There's two excellent Italian restaurants located in the small town 12 miles away, both of which have much better pizza than the chain places with the cardboard crust.
Hughie - I don't remember what brand of yo-yo that I had as a kid. I got bored with it pretty quickly and gave it to one of my younger brothers.
Louis - I don't care much for the Olympics. I like some events but not enough to sit and watch the TV for them. I happened to be in the living room while my wife was watching the opening ceremonies, and I was totally horrified at what I saw. I guess that the performers didn't want to be known, as they were all wearing masks! I don't know who comes up with this stuff, but they deserve to be fired.

Everybody have a great Saturday.

Willie, while I never thought the Culver butter burger was anything special, it’s just a different advertising thing. They are however, pretty good tasting, IMO.

Good morning everyone!

Not sure what the day will bring yet. Probably will include mowing, and a trip to the grocery store.

I didn't watch more than a few minutes of the opening ceremonies last nigh. Wife and daughter were watching, and I caught a few minutes here and there. The Olympics really aren't my thing, so I pay little attention to it. I will go on and look at the medal count from time to time, but that's pretty much it.

Have a great day all!
