Hello gentlemen, hot, sunny in Ohio today. Just got in the state on the way west. Here a spectacular railroad bridge in Belle Vernon, Pa:

Destination today, hopefully Iowa. We'll see how the drive goes through Columbus and Indianapolis.

Louis - I don't care much for the Olympics.
I'll watch most any sport. The Olympics is high on my list.

watching the opening ceremonies, and I was totally horrified at what I saw. I guess that the performers didn't want to be known, as they were all wearing masks! I don't know who comes up with this stuff, but they deserve to be fired.
I agree! Maybe the same people who do most Super Bowls?

I saw something about an Olympic flag being raised upside down? I have not been watching and haven't cared about Olympics since 2012 London (when I subscribed a VPN to watch BBC and other English coverage instead of the insufferable and terrible NBC).

Maybe that was a subtle plea for help (in raising the flag upside down). I've heard the opening ceremonies were quite controversial.

As a kid I loved the Olympics and waited for them and watched them all day every day. NBC ruined it for me when they took over a few decades ago where the talking heads are on more than the athletes and they don't show complete events but flit around and show highlights from a few. And more taking heads. And to see any real coverage you either have to have a cable subscription of a certain level to get the stupid channels they're (NBC) showing stuff on, or you have to get a VPN and watch foreign coverage, which is a lot more interesting, honest, and less talking heads.

Well howdy there internet subjects, and those with #1 stamped on something.

It's troy again... with good news.

I've been participating in some "Book Blasts" where 100+ authors all email our lists on the same day, and give out the same link to a page with lots of links to books (on Amazon, Nook, Apple, etc). The ebooks have to be free to download (doable on Amazon, but it's a bit of a pain, they want to make money, not give free downloads.

And then this happened. (Hint, I didn't write #2 or #3)

Yes, that's NOT all of Amazon, only one category, and only in the "free" side of the store, but it's still #1

That book is currently #44 overall in all the Amazon Free Books!

Woot! Glass of Whiskey time!

Congratulations Troy.

Good evening gang!

Lawn got knocked out by noon, then a little nap after lunch, about 2 I started working on the layout trying to make the lift bridges bulletproof. 1 bridge is done, the one at the laundry room door . I found I need more PC board to do the other bridge which is the opening to the larger portion of the layout. I tell ya, soldering rail to PC board requires a light tough to keep the gage correct!

Babysteps, babysteps!!!!

I finally did hear from the Western Maryland Historical Society member that is in charge of developing special run cars and decal sets. It turns out they ARE developing a correct decal set for WM steam engines. I was going to have Rail Graphics duplicate a set of rare decals I have (Champ EH-29) but it would cost me roughly $280.00 for the 6 sets I need for my current fleet of naked locos. I'm sure the Society sets will be as good or better than the Champ sets, plus being less expensive. Frankly, I really don't care if they are cheaper, as long as the quality is there.

Patience, patience!!!

Finally, I have been considering moving the hyperspace" track, the one that allows for constant running. Currently the layout ruling grade is a little lest than 1%. Moving this track will jump a short section to 2.5% but it will free up more structure space.

Decisions decisions!!

Troy let me join you in a toast!! 🥃 Congrats!

Time for more tunage.....BBL

How long is the 2.5% track? Is it on a curve? If it's only a couple of feet long, and on not much of a curve, it may be doable.

Got up at 2a for the loo run, and had to peak at the computer.

I've added a second category to the #1 status, and climbed to #34 in the "Free" store.

Unfortunately, no Orange Bestseller tag, because Amazon isn't making money on all the downloads. But I do get bragging rights.

Ok, back to bed.
