Good morning all. A sunny day!!!
Breakfast for everyone is on Dawn & I.

In 1998 our son had cancer. A long, hard battle before victory. Recently we thought it had come back. Last night we received news of the 'All Clear'.

Our thoughts and prayers to those involved in the fires in Canada.

A busy morning for us. Back later.

Good morning gang!

63° and cloudy, only getting to high of 83° for today. The sun comes out for the weekends with higher temps.

Flo my dear, coffee and a large stack of pancakes please. Sorry I can’t do the oatmeal today. Looks too much like wallpaper paste.

Later gators!

Good morning all, Happy Friday!

Looks to be a sunny day with temps getting to 80 degrees and no low rain chances.

Have to run to Walmart this morning to get hot glue sticks. I ran out yesterday and being in a small town the only source is Ace Hardware. Wouldn't you know it, they are out of stock. I also Wednesday ran out of plaster cloth and that's supposed to be here today according to USPS tracking. Mountain making on the layout has officially ground to a halt. Daughter is going to run down with me to pick up a few needed school supplies as well.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good Morning All. Cloudy and 71° to start our day. Rain has been removed from the forecast for today, as that tropical low pressure system followed Beryl's path and slid by east of us over in East Texas and Louisiana. Not supposed to get out of the upper-80's today which will be nice.

The plan yesterday changed, SIL could not make the granddog drop-off, so he will drive all of the way to the house this morning instead. He must have gotten a last minute invitation to a round of golf. He's currently unemployed, but on a substantial severance. He has a new job lined up but can't really start until his non-compete severance is up; although he is already doing some things surreptitiously.
So since I didn't have the dog in the car, I went shopping at Home Depot and bought a couple of odds and ends to make household projects easier; and to complete one of them.
Interesting thing that I noticed all over town yesterday, was that regular gasoline and diesel were both priced the same at $3.29/gal. Haven't seen that anytime this century!

I plan a day, at least a morning, of outside tasks today, since I basically took the last two days off. No shortage of projects including mowing. Despite no rain, the weeds around the perimeter of the yard are still growing, while the Bermuda Grass is just resting.

All of this discussion about the various burger places seems to indicate that it really depends on the particular location of the place that you patronize. There seems to be good and bad locations for all of the brands. I'll stick with the home-grilled ones where all of the grease drips off.

Ooops! Out in the train shed yesterday, I did basically nothing. After cleaning the track in the project area, I vacuumed and ran trains to verify that I could. Track really didn't need cleaning, it's mainly routine to do parts of it every two years. So I moved about 10 or 12 trains from one staging yard to the other, with some making a return trip as well. Used the main and the only passing siding through town, but did not switch any industries. Not all of the cars that I took off for the track cleaning have been returned yet.
Here's some of that track:

Patrick - Good news about the brace, now follow doctor's suggestions and don't have a repeat visit. Remember that knee from the past!;)
Troy - Congratulations on "The End". Now to get it past the proofreaders and editors.
Mike - There's no Culver's near me, so I am unfamiliar with a "butterburger". What is it and what makes it special? Maybe that's something that I should try at home.
Todd - Those are some scary graphics regarding the fires in the NW. Stay aware and be safe.
Louis - I know that your food preferences are rather eclectic, but there is no way I would make a pizza without Italian Sausage. I don't make pizza as much as I used to, but I start with a good homemade whole wheat crust, with homegrown Tomato sauce, topped with a Mozzarella/Provolone mix and home-grated Parmesan. On my half, I put Italian sausage, Pepperoni, Canadian Bacon, ground beef, chopped onion, bell pepper chunks and mushrooms. On the wife's half, I leave off the Pepperoni and add pineapple for her. Optional extras when I remember or I am in the right mood include diced homegrown Jalapenos, bacon bits and on the wife's side, chopped Spinach. But Italian Sausage always.

Here's one for you Patrick. Today is System Administrator Appreciation Day, maybe the boss will take you to lunch. It is also Mick Jagger's 81st birthday. He appears to be more active than the President of the same age. He can certainly dance and sing better.

It's Friday everyone, y'all have a great day.

Morning all,

72° and clear going for 96° later. Currently at PT getting shock treatment (stem with a TENS unit) with ice after the workout.

Gotta get the help to mow on my way back home, and then the eye Dr afterword.

Willie: No lunch for the network guy today as I no longer work on Fridays.

Similar to the way Culver’s does theirs

made New York style pizza with lots of meat
What is a New York Style Pizza? Seriously? Most local pizza joints around here descend from Brooklyn. All are good. Locally, they were really good until a certain US Attorney made a name for himself by breaking up the Gambino Family. The pizza enterprise was used to filter finances from other Family enterprises. Not for nothing, their shops and the Romano Distribution operation concocted the best pies anywhere, They are all gone now. Chain Pizza sucks. Frozen DiGiorno, is better than Dominos or Pizza Hut etc. New York Style Pizza is only found outside of the Metropolitan Area.

There was a very good Italian Restaurant in the old Landover Mall. It closed, courtesy an FBI raid...(Now the entire Mall is gone, as is the Arena across Hwy 202 from the Mall). That used to be a straight shot down Hall Rd from Bowie,MD.

Good morning from the south breezy deck in So. Central Wisconsin. I am planning to be home till mid-October. Next week the golf event is based near the house on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Tuesday and Thursday are within a1/2 mile of the house and the other course on Wednesday is maybe 10 miles. It will be nice to play this one in the area. High temperatures today will be low 80’s but they will be climbing each day into the mid 90’s by next Tuesday.

I already had the ears lowered this morning, so now it’s relax until the dew is gone from the grass. Time to cut again! I have decals to add to one of my own diesels and maybe start weathering some cars, but…

It’s so nice out I just may bounce from the south deck to the front porch today.

The SIL and grandson will be flying home tomorrow. The gd/s has a hockey camp starting Monday and I will drive him and another player on T/W/T with the other parent doing M/F and games being played Sat/Sunday. The daughter and gd/d will fly back on the 10th. Terry, my sister and their 2 friends are coming back on the 15th.

Enjoy the day

Not Mike, but I assume the burgers are fried in butter. They look like it. They have that brown crust you'd get from doing that. They also look to be of the "smashed" variety. (held down and flattened a little bit with the turner)

That all sounds good. I can't imagine a pizza with forced no sausage either, but to each his own. I'll puit whatever we have on. Wife likes lots of veggies and the rest of us like lots of meat. I'll put salami, pepperoni, sausage, bacon, etc when I do the deluxe. And peppers, onions, etc and the wife likes artichoke hearts. Lots of cheese. I love pizza. But I also like plain cheese or pepperoni pizza from Costco or since I'm cheap, when I order pizza out, usually just one or two toppings since they charge a ton per topping.

I haven't made a home made crust in a long while. Usually too lazy. I'll buy a good pre-made crust or we'll buy a basic home back pizza from Papa Murphy's or (back when they sold them) from Costco and then load them up ourselves with our own toppings.

Good morning, all! I'm sitting here, looking out the window at the rain. It started about 4:30 AM. Rain gauges are bulging at 6 inches. Lots of flooded and impassible streets and roads. Recommendations are if you don't need to go out, don't. I was going to go get a haircut, but I'm not sure the barber shop has a dock.
You gotta love this forum, from capacitor reading, to burgers, to pizza and of course trains, we cover it all. My favorite yoyo was a Duncan.😈😈

David - All clear, has to be great news.

I’ve never been coordinated enough to use a yo-yo.

Ahhhhh, quick lunch break. Been editing a kid's soccer-bible camp since 6am.
I have one more afternoon of catching video up at the church today then I can wrap it all together. Lots of pictures in pictures, video and stills.
I have a 3 minute spot to present the whole weeks activity.
I'll be going back down south to the Petersburg Keystone show early tomorrow morning for the day. Should be back here about 7 then I have the rest of the night to finish up the video, proof it then upload it to the church dropbox for airing Sunday morning.

I have yet to find an Italian sausage I like. I have never had any other sausage I didn't like. I don't know what they put in Italian sausage, but I don't like it.

That sounds great, you have so many flavors I doubt I will notice the Italian sausage. What no black olives? I like them on Pizza.

In the late 60’s and early 70’s I had an uncle that when they came to visit gave us Duncan Yo Yo’s. He worked for the company that made the YoYo and gave demonstrations all over the US and Canada. I was terrible at it but my sister was really good at it.

When I graduated college and moved out of the house mom gave me a box full of them. Later when our kids were teens we re-strung those yoyo and the son the first time he played with it he was better than I ever got.

WOW memories
