Somewhere out there in Indiana people are eating these delicious breakfast's but paying later on with all kinds of health issues. Just yesterday I was purchasing a gray marker for my wife and the saleswoman was telling me all about her degrading heath from eating to many fatty foods. She told me she just can't stop they all taste so good.

I don't actually eat anything I show in my posts. 🤣 🤣 🤣

She said cakes and donuts are her favorites. If we could only be more like Willie and grow our own food and add another 20 years to our lives.

We tried. Our concrete patio that turns into an EasyBake oven by 2pm only gets 6 hours of direct sun in any single spot. And the Condo HOA frowns on turning "shared" spaces into vegetable gardens

WILLIE: My wife ❤️❤️❤️❤️ LOVES ❤️❤️❤️ Pasta. So we get a lot of pasta and pizza. And most places we get 2-3 meals each out of the portions.

Back from Crazy Granny visit - She wasn't feeling well, but smiled since we brought her a cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing. And real coffee.

Good Morning All. Clear and 72°. No change in the forecast, hot and dry!

I did do some mowing yesterday morning, as planned I got the south side and most of the east side of the yard. I'll finish the east this morning and do the area between the house, pool and train shed after that.
More of the same after mowing, I will attack the next tree that is down near the driveway.
I had to make an extra trip to the post office yesterday afternoon to pick up the new grass catcher bag for the battery-powered push mower. I can't believe that the mail-order place used USPS instead of FedEx or UPS. Of course it wouldn't fit in our rural mailbox, and since said mailbox is over a mile away, the mail carrier won't leave packages there. So 40 minutes and a gallon of gas basically wasted. At least school's out and I didn't have to deal with the school zone.
One thing that the tornado has me really bummed out about, more than all of the other things, is the lack of the shade patterns that we used to have. There were parts of the yard where I could set up a couple of sawhorses and be in the shade from 11:00 am through the entire afternoon. No more!:( While there is still a spot in the front yard available, I don't risk the wife's ire by leaving projects out there for more than a day! Four 40' trees near the back door are now on the ground. To add insult, the tornado stripped many leaves off the remaining lower branches that won't grow back until next spring.

Many small projects out in the train shed yesterday. I picked up my ground foam container, the Iso/water and the diluted wet glue and went around the layout fixing the washed out spots from the roof leaks following the roof removal by the tornado. Basically there are many places where the drips left 1/2" - 1" spots of bare plywood, and a small mound of ground foam forming a mini-crater. I am also looking at all structures, figures, vehicles and scenery details for any other issues that need to be fixed. There doesn't appear to be anything else major at this time except some wavy track in one spot. I have been holding off fixing it to see if the plywood would come back in line, but I may have not left enough gaps in that part of the line to begin with. It's in a passing siding and the main line that parallels it is unaffected.
No new photos today, maybe I can find something in the archives that I haven't posted before.

Swal - I have some friends with health issues, and there is one thing in common with all of them. They eat too many fatty foods from fast-food places. I personally go for the home-grown organic stuff and fresh produce from the grocery store. We rarely eat any canned stuff from the store; too much added salt and sugars, especially corn syrup. I don't go to fast food places at all. I am currently freaked out because my A1C from Tuesday's blood draw is 5.9!
Troy - Not meaning to be critical here, but most of the foods that you post would send my body into shock. Not the grilled ones of course.

Today is International Skinny Dip Day. Be careful as there are still folks out there that don't approve.
Everyone have a wonderful day.
I like the caboose track cleaner. Is it homemade?

Well, howdy there internet subjects

It's Troy again.

Nothing new to report. Just need a gallon or two of coffee. The news cycle is going to be nuts for a few days. And the political world just turned inside-out yet again. Second time in the span of a month.

I need to get my head into writing today, and it's going to take a long while to get back in the mindspace to word fun words.

Good Morning All. Clear and 74° out on the porch this morning. Forecast is mostly the same, hot and dry, although the NWS has thrown thunderstorms into the mix for Thursday, Saturday and Monday...they'll probably be removed as we get closer to those days. Still waiting for that elusive triple-digit day that they have been forecasting for a month now!

Another working day on the estate yesterday, as planned I finished mowing the east side but I did not get the back yard yet. Pool was just too inviting! Emptied a wagon load of brush from Friday's cleanup and then cut and loaded another week's worth of firewood. This time from a large 40' Honeylocust tree that I planted 43 years ago. By my rough guesstimate, I will get at least 7 weeks of firewood out of this tree. It's second only to the Hackberry from earlier this week in BTU's/cord of the different trees that I have. Bur Oak is a close third. Photo below taken the morning after the tornado.

It's the tree on the right. The one on the left I haven't attacked yet, here's a different view.

Not much different today except the leaves are fallen and one large branch has been removed.

The two trees were side by side, the one that I am cutting was completely demolished, the other has parts still standing, but probably won't last but a couple more years due to the damage.

More of the same today, but less of it. Today is supposed to be the day of rest! Oh! And the grilled steak last night was perfect. Skipped the potato salad and had raspberries along with the coleslaw and sauteed mushrooms/onions. A perfect low-carb meal.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I fixed the section of warped trackage. It's been in place for 5 years now without any issues, and as I posted yesterday, the main line that parallels it was not affected. I used the Dremel to put a 1/16" gap in each rail. Took longer than expected but it worked as planned. It was complicated by the fact that the 2.5" track section that I worked on had feeders soldered to it. I didn't take a before picture so I didn't feel that it was worth taking an after one.
Other than that, I repaired two more scenery spots with ground foam.
Here are a few barn pictures from the archive in commemoration of National Barn Day today.

Tom O - It will be interesting to find out what those fish were. Especially if there was one that you liked. I only enjoy eating salt water fish myself.
Troy - Pasta is my downfall. I can limit potatoes to once a week or less, rice to maybe once a month, but pasta and Italian bread, forget it! I don't eat desserts to make up for it.
That Breaking News Consumer's Handbook is just so, so spot-on.

Today is both National Barn Day, and National Mac & Cheese Day. I've posted the barns above, you're responsible for your own Mac & Cheese.
Have a great Sunday today.
