Good morning all, I hope everyone is safe and healthy on this fine Monday morning.

I have a question I hope someone can give me an answer for... is it possible to post a short video on this site? I was just trying to post on a different thread and when I used insert image none of the video files in the folder I was using were visible for choosing. Am I doing something wrong or...?
Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Not sure if this is the only way to do it, but create a YouTube video and copy and paste the link to the video.

Good morning all. A clear sky with the odd whispy cloud.
Flo, I'll have what Bill is having.

Conversation (on the telephone) between Dawn and ASDA (Walmart) delivery driver.
Driver "Are you going to answer this door?"
Dawn "Where are you?"
Driver "At your front door."
Dawn "You are not. My husband is there."
Pause

Driver "I am at the wrong house aren't I?"

Eventually the ASDA driver arrived with the groceries.
When Dawn put the order together together she wanted dishwasher tablets.. ASDA say they they have none? Have substituted them with a box of salt?????
When I mentioned to the driver that the salt should have been dishwasher tablets his reply, "The packers are useless."
'Yes and so are the drivers,' I said under my breath.

Needless to say the salt was returned.

Thank you for the quick reply Guilford. Sounds like I will have to go well out of my comfort envelope and learn some new things, I have never created a YouTube video before. It seems a little like overkill for an eight second video of an engine on a test track lol ... I could probably put several on the one YouTube video I suppose...🤔 Off to learn something new!
Thank you again!

Well, howdy there internet subjects

It's Troy again. Safely ensconced in my recliner in the basement. Just in case Beryl makes a dash for the Indiana border. Of course the weather guessers have it's potential inland path heading towards us mid-week.

So, thanks to Huey and Willie for wanting to throw me a hurricane party for the birthday. No need to do so again. ;)

Wife and I finished off the night with our Culver's ice cream. I had a whiskey cocktail as a nightcap.
Sis-in-law insisted on taking wife out to the grocery to purchase some baked goods for me. So now I have a small box of cookies and a box of gooey brownies.

So much for my post birthday diet. ;)

Need to word some words now. I left the old wizard in the wheel chair disappearing under the waters of the bay in the last chapter. I need to see how he survives this one.

Video occupies a lot of space compared to an image. Letting You-tube host the storage, and giving us a link is probably best.

Set yourself up with a free youtube account. You'll get a "channel" for yourself. Name it after your railroad. Upload the video to youtube. Once it's loaded, make sure it's shared with "Public" or whatever they call it. Then past the link into the MEDIA option in the toolbar here.

The good thing about setting up the YouTube channel is that you can keep making videos about your railroad, and share them there. Railheads and modellers will eventually find the channel and might even leave some comments under the videos.

It is possible to post a link to a video here. The forum doesn't have video hosting capabilities.

A Military Story.

Well sort of. This little story was told to me way back in the 1960s. 1964 if I remember correctly. Definitely true.

A road haulage driver decided he would take his four year old daughter with him on his deliveries. Going with her father, the little girl was in her element. Such fun. Much better than at home.

One of the deliveries was to the Stores Depot at Catterick Garrison. Catterick was (and still is) a huge military base for the British Army.

On arrival at Stores Depot the girl asked if she could get out of the lorry. Her father allowed her out and told her to stand by the lorry door and not leave. Her father took the delivery into the depot.

As the little girl stood by the lorry cab door she looked around. She saw the parade ground. A large group of soldiers. A soldier shouting at the men.

Her father came out of the depot. His daughter had gone. She was walking up to the group of soldiers.
By the time he got near to his daughter he heard her say to the Parade Sergeant, "Why are you shouting at the men?"
The Parade Sergeant knelt down an began to explain quietly the answer.
By then, her father was at the scene and was full of apologies.

As the little girl and father hurried away, the Parade Sergeant was in full voice again

You’re certainly welcome! There may be an easier way but I’m not aware of one. Maybe other members have some ideas?

Creating YouTube videos is a good skill to have for the hobby anyways so that we can appreciate your work further :)

Depending on your video software it's not hard to create a youtube video if you have an youtube account. I've put up simple 3-8 second videos of things from my track not working or working etc. But it depends on the software you have. There is a YT studio app that makes it wicked easy.

I upload to Onedrive and copy the "share link", that works.
