Good evening all,

Trying to catch up again. I'm not getting much anytime to do anything other than care provider these days. Just getting the yard mowed goes down as a major accomplishment. A neighbor came up this morning to look after my wife so I could make a Costco run.

On the positive side, yesterday produced about 1.3" of needed rain. Photo from Friday.

My situation is pretty much the same. You have my sympathy.

Well, howdy there, subjects of the internet!

It's Troy again.

I wondered how Master Yoda would look as train enthusiast. And I have image credits to burn in the next 10 hours or so before the monthly reset.

Bemused by your hobby, he is...

On tap for today, I'll be heading in for hearing aid tune-up #1. Going for closed domes, and tweaking the streaming and phone call sections of the app.

And I need to stop and pick up a pound of pork sausage to make my smoked meat loaf. i think I'll use the recipe from Meat Church when I go find it again. Interesting that the trick is to line the loaf pan with cling-wrap, then freeze the meatloaf for at least an hour. Remove from the pan, and the loaf will retain it's shape in the grill, just being on the grates.

The recipe, found it, I did

Good Morning All. Clear and 79°, supposedly heading for 102° today. Didn't make it above 99° yesterday, once again disappointing the guys at the NWS who have been predicting triple digits, in vain, for over two weeks now. No steambath here as the relative humidity will be below 35%. They're still predicting thundershowers for Friday, with maybe more next week dependent on the hurricane and whether it turns north or not. Same old heat advisory still in effect, probably until September.

Yesterday I actually began cutting firewood again, from the trees left by my neighboring farmer that he cut down because they were scratching his expensive John Deere equipment. Those have been aging for several months now and need to be burned before the tornado windfall which are still green. I actually picked 4 Tomatoes that managed to survive, but that will be all until the fall. I took a picture with the phone, but I can't find the damn thing right now!

No outdoor work planned for today other than taking the trash all of the way out to the dumpster. Later, I'll be headed off to a retirement luncheon at the former place of employment. A sales manager who I have known for over 40 years is finally retiring. There should be a few folks there that I wouldn't mind seeing again. The retiree is connected with me in a couple of obscure ways that are not related to work. He and I went to the same Catholic high school in Dallas, although he started after I had graduated and I didn't meet him until he came to work for us in the mid-80's. He went to school with a couple of my sisters and one brother. Due to church activities and committees, he worked (and partied) with all three of my brothers and two SIL's. He often complained that he dealt with all of them and my parents from Friday night until Sunday night and then had to come to work and deal with me all week long. His wife worked for my brother in the church office for many years. We'd also meet at social events like weddings for my nieces and nephews pretty often, I have 13 of them. His wife is now Director of Alumni Affairs for the high school and I still see him at some activities.

Another ho-hum day out in the train shed yesterday. The only activity was running trains again, well that was actually a highlight. Things have settled down with the reconstruction projects necessitated by the tornado-damaged roof on the shed. I can't see any more things that need immediate attention. There's still damaged cardboard boxes on the floor, but I am in no hurry to deal with them until I get replacement cartons from Amazon.
Freight train waiting in the hole in Maultown for the approaching train in the upper right corner.

Another waiting in Vernon.

Todd - I love liver and onions, so yesterday's picture made my mouth water.
David - So sorry to read of the X-ray result. I hope that it isn't something too serious.

Everyone have a great Tuesday.

Warm and muggy already here in Verdy Valley, AZ. Did my morning walk. Half of it is slight downhill.
Went to the WDHS layout again yesterday and ran my DDA40X with a 40 car cattle train. I'll post my video of that after I get home. Allen shot some video too and published his yesterday. If I can find it, I'll post it here too.

Good morning: Currently 74°, up from 56° at sunrise. Sunny and Mid 80's today...

...Spent most of yesterday amusing myself watching TSN's Free Agent Frenzy Extravaganza vis ESPN+, while following rumors and alerts on X...

Now that Hockey is over until October, it's time for baseball season to begin... :p

Morning folks

56F, cloudy, and a blistering 70 for the day's predicted high. I'm trying to clean the place up a little so I don't completely gross out my brother and nephew that will be arriving tomorrow. The bedrooms on second floor are largely abandoned these days.

Good morning from So Central Wisconsin where it is literally pouring rain. Rain severe at times today and the guessers are saying above a 60% chance every hour till 7pm. The granddaughter plays softball at 7:30. Flood warnings are out for the area as all the creeks and ponds seem to be at very high levels. It’s 61f degrees now, 75 later

I see the Boston Celtics of the NBA are for sale for about $5 billion USD. Nothing like selling at the peak of team value as they just won the NBA title in June. The family needs to sell for tax and inheritance reasons is the report I read! They expect a bidding war…

I never got to the LHS yesterday so the online retail shopping is still on hold

Not sure what today will bring but because of the rain I will not be sitting on the south deck or the north facing porch

Flo, may I have another diet Dr Pepper and a menu. I’m tired of yogurt and granola for my every other day breakfast. A waffle sounds great…

Good morning everyone!

A large coffee with cream and sugar to go this morning.

A pretty cloudy overcast start to the day. Were getting a small rain shower that is moving through the area. Doesn't look like it will last long. We are on the very edge of it.

Got a few errands to run this morning, then I should be able to get back downstairs and chip away at the rest of the mainline. I glued the last pieces of foam last nigh, so those are weighted and I will let dry till tomorrow, as a couple of pieces were a little cupped and I want to make sure those are good and stuck. maybe have some photos of progress to show in the build thread, we shall see.

Everyone stay safe!

Good afternoon. It’s partly cloudy and 92. Temp and humidity.
Tomorrow at noon, we’re moving my trailer to a spot that isn’t plagued by constant water line and sewer leaks, and hopefully less power fluctuations. I was willing to deal with it when I thought it was only going to be for a few months, but permanently living at Camp Swampy is not fun.

Afternoon shop dwellers!

Back from a 4 day weekend in Maine. My GF and I went there for a little RR before the Holiday weekend coming up. Had Lobster everyday. Friday nite, breakfast Saturday, lunch lobster rolls, dinner again lobster....Sunday yup lobster.....didnt' have normal food until Monday morning lol It was all delicious!

Back home and am in the office today and tomorrow then off until next Monday. Not going anywhere but on the boat on Lake George & Lake Champlain and then Battenkill River for a float trip on inner tubes. Chill and relax.

Train front has been interesting for me. I came across a boxcar by Atlas that was the last item number of a series I was looking for in the SNC Saratoga & North Creek RR. So now I have all 3 that were produce in 2016. Very happy about that. I will post on the RPO later this weekend coming after my other orders come in. I also got an old Branchline kit for Cargill Foods covered hopper. May tackle that this weekend to assemble. Then on the locomotives....geesh I just cannot seem to stop on the acquisitions of these things. I found an old run of GP10s by Atlas with ESU Lok Sound 5. This one was weathered very nicely. It is in the AOK RR, the scheme with the Midsouth logo and RI shield. Like this one right below here.....I will post more later as it is due in on Friday.

Then I acquired an old run of Athearn RTR with sound NW in the old IT (Illinois Terminal) paint scheme this one was a Prime to Grime unit. I like it and I will use it for run through power. It's an EMD SD38 rebuild etc. I will run it with my SD40s that are lease power. Makes for interesting convo. I will also post this in the RPO when it arrives Friday.

Not much else to report other than at the end of the month I will be heading to Etowah, NC to visit an old friend. He an I were partners in an Architectural firm years ago and then to Chattanooga, TN to see my Godson compete in the Bassmaster Classics for the high school level competition, he is a junior and will be a senior next year. This will be on Chickamauga Lake in Chattanooga. We have a AirBnB rented for the week so we are set there. Looking forward to it. I will be making rounds around town for hobby shops and a museum or two.

Anyone have suggestions on the hobby shops in Chattanooga?

Ya'll have a good afternoon and good rest of the week. Have a great 4th of July holiday weekend and be safe with family and friends. I may check back Friday or so..

C-YA!
