Same Ol' Buzzard
Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and 77°. The weather radar shows possible showers nearby with the closest one to me about 4-5 miles NNE of me. But it probably isn't hitting the ground and is probably only covers 3000 acres...since disappeared from the map. I thought that the chances were good for some rain overnight, since I topped off the pool yesterday with 750 additional gallons. But no!
Yesterday was laundry day, while today is dishwasher day. I did spend too much (?) time on the computer organizing and filing pictures into folders. Found a few that I may not have posted before. Granddog is still with us in a rather passive way. Spends most of the day on her bed. Not sure if it's because she's still recovering from her surgery earlier this year, just getting old, or the hot weather is slowing her down. She doesn't even seem interested in chasing the local rabbits this trip. We don't even know when my daughter will return to get her, but our grandson who is on this trip with them has to be in school Monday. Our other grandson has been at school since last Friday, as he is going to be an RA at one of the dorms at UT this semester. He's undergoing training right now.
Out in the train shed yesterday, I continued my wiring upgrade project. Not much to it other than adding snap-in wire connectors to structure lighting. It just makes removing structures to the workbench a lot easier. I also finally found and fixed a gremlin that's been bothering me for over 12 years now. As you may know, I am strictly a DC modeler since I am a lone modeler and I cannot manage two trains at the same time. Mostly because from any vantage point on the layout, I can only see about 20% of the whole thing. I have had crossed wiring on one block with another ever since I first wired it up. Since I have been under the layout in that general area, I finally tracked it down. Disconnected one wire and hooked the block up at a different connection point, and now everything works as intended. It didn't keep anything from working, but it was annoying that I mis-wired it to begin with. Must have been when I still consumed adult beverages while modeling.
A few days ago, I posted photo of a bicyclist that I was painting. While filing pictures yesterday, I found a couple of shots depicting some others. I like figures and action ones are best.
I have a few others, but cannot successfully locate those pictures just yet.
Rubicon - Have a safe and enjoyable trip.
David - I had to deal with wife's PICC line for a few weeks a couple of years ago. Once past the first couple of days, it's just routine. A very pretty home health care nurse came out the first day to demonstrate how to do it. In our case I was already retired, so I could devout all of my attention to her. She was between tax seasons at the time so her job didn't matter.
Troy - There's probably a pizza joint or two in "The Fort" that might have to shut down if you move to Canada.
High School Reunions - I went to a brand new smallish Catholic high school. Our very first graduating class was in 1966, so they are having their first ever 60-year reunion this year. My class had 123 graduates and about 80 showed up for the 50-year in 2019. Compare that to my daughter's class at the nearby small town school that she went to; her class had just 13 graduates. Other daughter's class 3 years earlier had 31. Son's class was 23.
U2 guitarist The Edge is 65 today. He has a real name, but I don't remember it...too lazy to look it up!
Everyone have a wonderful Saturday.
