I watched the Ike movie last night. Entertaining as I like Magnum - I think he made a quick reference? What I found confusing, though, is how they made it seem that Churchill was pulling the strings on the selection process for Supreme Commander. Anyway, made it to the end of the movie, where the best scene happened with him coking and joking with the soldiers.

Good morning from my section of Wisconsin. It’s 54f degrees now maybe 81 later.

At dinner yesterday it dawned on me that the hip wasn’t sore or tender. 1st complete day without any Ibuprofen since last week Monday when I hurt it

1st text we got from the 2 new project managers for the layouts was about budgets. The reply from John was there are no budgets in model railroading! I have not heard from him since that reply! The group chat though yesterday prior to that was quite lively

Long live the forum

Well howdy there internet peeps and those in need of recalibration

It's Troy again

speaking of recalibration, Yesterday was a good pain day. Was able to lengthen the gap between doses of Nsaids...

Today ... not so much good... Back on the every 6 hours and adding an extra 200mg ibu when needed.

I go see the pretzel man (Chiropractor) in an hour. Readjustment usually helps. Hope it does today.

66°F/63°F this morning. Expecting a few degrees warmer today to 86°F. May not get that out here though. I'm expecting about 83°F again, same as yesterday.

Nothing going on again today except enjoying retirement. Still have several more locomotives to service so I might get in the train room and do that later today.

Have a great week.

Servus!

Morning All! 59 in the Brew City this AM, going to 79. Mowed again yesterday. Did a bunch of club treasurer stuff. Took a nap. 😁 We were still recovering from the grandchildren!

A budget for Model Railroading...interesting concept. 🤔 Naaaaah! 🤣 Taking a short trip to visit friends. Leaving tomorrow. Lots to do. Enjoy your day!

Good Morning All. Overcast(?) and 80° out there this morning. Light rain nearby that probably won't hit here, looks like it will all skirt off to the east. Further east between here and Texarkana, there's significant rain. Nope! The NWS didn't see this coming; see the long-range forecast that I posted yesterday. They have advanced the arrival of the cool front to tomorrow instead of Thursday, highs below 100°. I'm more interested in the overnight lows being around 72°. High today at 107°, after 108° yesterday. And so it goes!

I actually cut up some firewood yesterday after taking care of some inside tasks first (dishwasher, etc.). Tried a new recipe for supper, breaded pork chops in the air fryer. Worked out well.
Today starts with another trip to a doctor; this time it's the semiannual visit to the gastro doc. Nothing new to report, but Medicare pays for it so why not? I have had a history of unexplained internal bleeding. We'll tack a few other errands on to the trip.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I continued with some more minor projects. The clear glossy lacquer to represent pool water is not quite working as expected, but may still be salvageable. I have defined my next project area and cleared it of all structures and vehicles. First up will be painting the sky-blue backdrop. I am guessing that the area is about 24" deep x 36" wide, but I didn't measure it. Running along the backdrop is an industrial siding that serves 6 industries; only one of which is in this project. The two to the north are already completed. This one doesn't have any actual destination yet, not even a 2D building. But I have been switching boxcars at the spur itself for 12 years now. Yesterday, I did install a ground throw for an unrelated switch. This particular location has an ancient Life-Like powered #4 switch since it would require reaching over structures in front of it to access. Two others along this same wall have them (powered switches) as well. The area is still unballasted. The front 8"-10" is already done with a main line, passing siding and a road running through. Once completed, there is still a 4' - 5' area to the south that still needs to be completed. Track is laid and operational, with partial landscaping.

Troy - Salmonella in eggs and poultry has always been a scare, it's just that there's now much more media hype about it. Salmonella is easily controlled by proper cooking.

A lot of musical birthdays today. Gene Simmons, bassist for KISS is 77, Rob Halford, vocalist for Judas Priest is 75; Elvis Costello is 72. And a couple that you might not be familiar with, Henry Paul, guitarist/vocalist for The Outlaws is also 77, and progressive rock keyboardist Geoff Downes, of Yes and Asia is 74. On the country side of things, Billy Ray Cyrus is 65.

OK, I was slightly wrong, as it is lightly sprinkling here right now; maybe enough to make splotches in the dust on the cars!
Everyone have a terrific Tuesday.

Good morning all!

having a Hell of a time with the forum this morning. I tries a few times and had no luck.

Another nice day on tap. Currently a sunny 72F. Highs are supposed to be around 80F. Pretty much the same as yesterday, but the humidity is starting to build. Still an overall nice day for the third week of August. Ready for fall.

Just puttering around the house this morning doing some laundry and light cleaning.

Tonight is my daughters first volleyball game. Its at home so no travel involved. She was informed last week that she is getting moved up to JV so she was pretty excited about that. Works out good for us as well since we wont have to get to games as early.

Not much else going on at the moment,

Have a safe day everyone!

I have got that message 6 times already today. I'm cutting my visits to this form to once a month or longer.
I really don't have the time to waste here or the patience anymore.
Reading & posting on the forum should be an enjoyable experience, not a frustrating, aggravating chore !
I can't even change pages without an error massage.
And I am curious if this message will even post.

So long everybody.........John

Good morning - Mike, you aren't the only one having problems. Tried posting on my shelf layouts and it took almost 2 hours.

I did finally get the hoses and pipes in for the loading platform for Tschache Oil. What a pain in the ass. My skills aren'r as good as they were years ago. I will try to post a couple.

While I am still waiting for Bob to come up with a solution, I have to agree with you completely. And I stand by my opinion that it isn't the bots like some have posted. This is this afternoons stats...

Well, it didn't even post correctly! It has become like dealing with the government, no real answers and no action!
