Hawaii took a beating from Lala. They didn't take a direct hit, but they have a lot of flooding, wind damage, power outage. The Japan storm dropped 14 inches in Chiba. Maui got 15. Folks didn't lose anything. Brother lost power.

My HS buddy would have gone surfing, but he's too old now. I hope he didn't go out...

Good morning gang!

Still fighting a good fight on this end. Wife made meatloaf and mashed potatoes. One of my favorite dinners last night. It went down great but about three hours later it came back up again. Just ate a breakfast of French toast, sticks and sausage. let’s see how that goes. Home health nurse is supposed to come today between 10 and 12 to inspect my leg and also check blood pressure and all that good stuff. We’ll see how that goes.

Good morning all!

Monday, Monday.........

Shaping up to be a pretty nice day. Currently at sunrise its 62F. Highs are supposed to it around 79F. Finally no rain in the forecast.

Usual stuff around the house today. Have a load of laundry, dishwasher, etc.....

Lets hope for a quiet peaceful day!

Have a safe day everyone!

Good Monday morning folks.

Cold front came through with a lot of noise and a light show last night. I didn't sleep very well because of it, but at least it is cooler this morning at 71°F. Dewpoint is falling and an expected high of 84°F. The rest of the week should be in the mid-80s; slightly below normal average.

Laundry day today with a small load of blue. If the grass dries, I'm going to mow the fescue and knock that down before it becomes a jungle again.

Have a great Monday!

Servus!

Good morning from Wisconsin where we could use some rain. It is 61f degrees now and 83 later. It’s cloudy looking out the window but my WeatherChannel app says it’s sunny! I’ll go with what I see

Talked to my brother on Maui each of the last 3 days but with a 5 hour time difference right now he’s sleeping. He lives in Makena on Maui and they barely got anything and for the most part it was an eriee calm the last few days. As of 11am Sunday they received 2-3” of rain and the winds he didn’t think went above 20 mph. Said he knows from the TV reports the eastern side of the island received over 15” of rain. That is where the famous Road to Hana is. Makena is on the southwestern side of the island. He was playing golf on Saturday noon his time when I called checking they were ok!

Saturday morning we went to the Agora Art Fair about 10 minutes east of us. Came home with this little guy. The grandson and I then went to a Ops session

Since we are here for at least another Summer even if we build you can see part of my new honey do list. The beds around the buildings here need to be shaped up. The grandson and me under Terry’s supervision start this afternoon. Pull the mulch, dig out any invasive grass and weeds, add new weed barrier, add new mulch and move to her next item on the new outdoor list! Thankfully the plantings around the buildings are only 4-6’ deep on 2 sides. If the weather holds it will be 100% by Friday.

Sunday, we went to an art and craft fair 45 minutes east of us in a beautiful little town called Lake Mills. As we were coming up to the park Terry goes what the F…. where’s the show? The park was empty expect for a corn stand! She pulled out her phone and checked the date, time and location. We were in the correct place but no show. So we needed to do something. There is supposedly a top 10 hamburger stand the next exit east and about 5 miles south of there called Jefferson, Wi. I’ve been meaning to stop there over the years but the timing always has been wrong. Another town with a downtown that could have inspired the Walthers version of its Merchant Row kits. We found the stand easily enough and yes it was open. Maybe 8’ x 8’ we ordered the famous top 10 in Wisconsin hamburger. Decent price at $6.00 but more a gloried slightly bigger than a White Castle slider. I think the reviewers need to have their taste buds tested! The place is called Wedl’s, it was good as I grew up on White Castle hamburgers but we should have tried the doubles. Definitely not top 10 in my book

This morning at 10:15 I’m driving the grandson to our newly opened on Friday 8/14 Top Golf facility. The golf pro he takes lessons from is on staff there. He has 2 more lessons after this. He says he is enjoying a game he doesn’t get hit while playing! We do lunch somewhere other than his favorites McDonalds and Culver’s. Then we come home to the honey do list

Have a great day

Good Morning All. Clear and a cool 76°; wasn't expected to be this cool, but I'll take it. Won't last long! But we're told to expect 105° later today, warmer later as the week progresses.

Forum wasn't playing nice with me yesterday, I hope that it improves today.

Not a lot going on around here yesterday, usual Sunday chores. Dishwasher, laundry and I didn't set the county on fire with the burn trash. Technically, we've been under a burn ban since last Monday, but there was no wind and I am always prepared with the water supply. Today's outlook doesn't look much different. Sadly, the pool is warming back up, now at 89°.

Out in the train shed yesterday, things weren't any more active. I did a bunch of minor things like adding a vehicle here and some figures somewhere else. Added lighting connectors to one more structure and dusted off a couple of locos. I studied a couple of places for the next project. Nothing positive yet, but I have a few small projects in mind. Sent 5 more figures into the "finished bucket" prior to dull-coating.

Troy - Good luck to your wife with the Rheumatologist.
Marco - Continue to enjoy that vacation.

Renowned Grammy-winning guitarist and local Texas musician, Eric Johnson, is 72 today.

Everyone have a great Monday.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those tall enough to reach the top shelves.

It's Troy again.

Light night I went to sit on the heating pad, on the couch. And spilled my entire 24 oz thermal stainless steel (and lidded) cup of flavored water. Had to get the carpet cleaner out, and leave the fan blow on that spot all night. fortunately, it was in the basement, so the wife didn't grump at me.

But I had to fill up the swear jar.

Wife's appointment with the RA doc is at 3:30 today. Depending on how long that goes, it may turn into a dinner date. We'll see. May hit the happy hour at the pizza place. No booze. Just cheaper pizza.

Wife is a penny pincher, so if there's a special, she'll eat out. Activity that is costly no thanks- however, a normally costly activity where she save a few bucks, sure!

I don't understand her, but I go with it.

Had a decent night with the sciatic pain, but I'm paying for it now. Standing and walking hurt. Sitting hurts less, so I did my morning stretches, took my Ibu, now I'm sitting, and readjusting position ever few minutes. this counts as two steps forward, one step back progress.

guess I'll be gluing little toy soldiers together.

Might try some writing. We'll see. The pain interferes with the writing mood. I might only kill off the cast of characters by chapter three instead of chapter one. ;)

Time to go start laundry, and dump the ice maker nuggets into the freezer bin.
