Good evening all. It is raining.

Ran some LMS steam engines today

Welding with an acetylene torch, more precisely, oxy-acetylene welding uses a mix of oxygen and acetylene gas to produce a flame hot enough to melt and fuse metal.
The scene needs further refinement. For one, the acetylene tank is actually oversized, but it's a stand-in for now until I find my stash of proper sized tanks. I'm just initially going for the general idea and a chance to use the welder figure.

Where is everyone??? Over 2.5 hours since the last visitor. Flo is lonely.
It finally happened, despite the forecast having no chance of rain until Sunday, there's thunder and light rain outside right now. We did reach a high of 99° before this cool front blew in around 4:00, the temperature right now is 74°. Presently there is a measly 0.25" in the gauge, and I doubt that we'll get more than a half inch before it's done.
Sadly, the pool reached a temperature of 86° earlier, but this weather came in just before we were going to go out and enjoy what will probably be our last day of potential usage. No sunshine is in the forecast for the next ten days.

Well, we went out for a burrito and queso dip... then to the pharmacy.... then to drop the prescription at the MIL's place...

Came home, just got settled in the recliner and the ring doorbell camera alerted me. My amazon order of Walther's building arrived?

I went up, it rattled like plastic building parts. I opened the package and was disappointed...

Anyone spot the problem?

Maybe you can apply some Preparation H on it to shrink it to N scale.
Went back to look at the listing... I had searched for "N Scale Buildings"

Here's the listing:

Hmmmmm....

Silly me, I should have read all five of the bullet points. Who'd expect an HO scale kit on a search for "N Scale"

However, I discovered Michael's Trains, in the Old Bag Factory in Goshen IN. I was going to model the Old Bag Factory for the Conrail Zombie line. So I was looking for pics.

I've already set up the return of the HO kit to Amazon. I'll drop it off at Kohl's tomorrow. And I spent the money and then some at Michael's Trains. I purchased the Merchant's Row II in N, as well as the Crestline Credit Union from DPM. They've got a Labor Day sale going on. Not a BIG store for train goodies, but some decent stuff that is only an hour-ish away from me. He stocks more than our local store.

It's overpriced Walthers junk with instructions Stevie Wonder could read? 😉 😁

My train order came in today. I may head downstairs in a moment and do some scenery. On another note, concerning my other project. They say the stringers should be set at 16 inches on center using the new composite decking boards vs the old. I don't know about that one, so I set them at 8 inches on center where you walk out and down to the patio and 12 where the small deck is. Swal

After 6 months of trying to keep the motorcycle battery to hold a charge, I broke down and bought a new battery. It was about the same price as a car battery or a DC diesel engine, to put it in the proper perspective.
I have a 2003 Honda VTX1800, which looks like a Harley cruiser. The battery is down in the frame, under the seat, the buddy seat, the electronics module and the plastic splash shield. The 15 pound battery sits in a plastic compartment that barely allows the label on the battery to slip in the case.
Being a mechanical genius, I only took 2.5 hours to extract the battery.
Tuesday night, I did price shopping on the computer.
Yesterday, I drove over to Battery +, got a fresh battery, filled it with acid and put it on the trickle charger 0ver night.
Today, I used a few words attributed to drunken sailors. After dropping the battery down in the compartment, I found the the terminal screws use a square nut to hold the terminal in place. It only took me an hour to get the nuts in place, each set of wires with flat washers between them to tighten down so none of the wires move. Finally, the bike cranked in two seconds .
Then, I had to take my wife to our dentist appointments and then made the weekly grocery run. After supper, I reversed the seat removal process and got it put back together in only 30 minutes. A short ride convinced me it was way to cool to be riding in just a tee shirt and helmet.

So, how did your day go?

I'm just initially going for the general idea and a chance to use the welder figure.
I still say i like it as is.
tank is actually oversized
It's common to use a larger oxygen tank for a welding rig. For oxyacetylene (gas welding) welding you can use much more oxygen than acetylene, depending on the thickness of the metal you are welding. Oxygen pressures can be as much as five times or even higher than acetylene.

I was sleeping. I did stuff, not much, but I wore myself out. I slept well and I feel good now, thank God.

Considering it was an Amazon search, I would and now you will too. No worries, returns are easy.

So, how did your day go?
Every day is a good day; some are simply better than others. You did great to get the job done and not break anything in the process.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY to teach yourself and your family.

You do not know them, but five people will say something special. Listen!
You do not know them, but five people will do something that will affect you. Be watchful!

You will say something special to five people you do not know. Choose your words wisely!
You will do something to five people you do not know, that will affect them. Be careful of your actions.
