I've been getting the reschedule your Fedex delivery phishing /scamming emails for a few weeks now, a few times a day (across my email accounts).

Also constantly get email about Costco / Harbor Freight / Home Depot / XXXXXXX / YYYYYYYY -- sweepstakes -- you've won $100 gift card (or similar).
I've gotten all of those, but never through a text. It has always been emails and most of them now go straight into spam.

The phone# on this was defiantly an overseas number.

Well howdy there meatloaf lovers, and those who would do anything for sweetcorn this time of year!

It's troy again...

Meatloaf2.jpg

I expect a "stall" when slow cooking roasts on the smoker... didn't expect it in a meatloaf though. The meat church guy said 270 F for 4 hours... At 3.5 hours I had the grill at 300F.... then at 350F.... an hour late at 400. At hour 5, when the biscuits were done, and the corn on the cob smoked and cooked well.... the meatloaf was still 130F in the center. I was going for an internal of 160.

Wife asked if an end was done?

Smart wife. I measured with the temp probe... another five minutes and both sides of one end, in about an inch+ was at least 160. So I sliced that hunk off, and we finally ate.

By the time we finished, and I checked the remainder, it was almost done in the center.

Lesson learned. For a "full loaf" and not the 3/4 loafs I was doing before, take it up to 325F at the beginning.

Good afternoon, it’s 3:50pm Hawaiian time from I guess the Northern Pacific Ocean. We are on the beautiful island called Maui. The devastation 2 years later from the Lahaina fires still is horrific. Terrible tragedy. The community my brother is in Makena has seemed to really have helped their affected employees. There is a 5 acre site that has many small houses on it for those employees and extended families. No charge but lots of limitations as to who can visit or even overnight

Played golf this morning with the brother. Did ok but had fun.

The brother and I are going to Mexico City tomorrow after dinner. He is seeing a doctor who specializes in the hip issue the brother has. He has a cancer of the hips, something I’ve never heard of and while that’s not the official medical b/s name for it, it’s what it is. Hip replacement is the only cure but the concern is all the tissue, muscle and anything else surrounding the hips. The replacement hip isn’t the issue. If they have not caught this in time the tissue and muscles may have affected where hip attaches. Needless to say the brother is worried and never mentioned anything until after dinner last night. From what sounds like an overnight flight of 10 hours, there will be some tests Friday. He has literally a stack of medical records and X-rays to give to them. After tests the consult is Saturday afternoon. The brother and I will head to Vegas or Scottsdale depending on what this doctor in MC says. He will not have the surgery in Mexico. Either way he’s now having hip surgery after putting it off from the original June date.

The last time the brother and me were in Mexico City was to pickup the body (in a coffin) of a good friend of his. That was just before the fires! 2 years later the widow has sued the mistress whose bed he died in. The mistress filed a claim against the dead guy’s estate. Personally I think it’s comical

The sister and my wife are staying with the brother’s girlfriend and will come back to the mainland when they decide. If a surgery happens I will be with the brother as the g/f can’t handle it or the recovery. His first replacement surgery was for the right hip. The surgery and recovery was in Vegas. The cancerous one is the left hip. Never was any of that mentioned during all the doctor visits or PT I was with him for

Oh well

My ice trays didn't freeze completely over when I emptied them this morning. I believe that they should have since I made them last night around 930. So, I decided to clean the heat exchanger. While vacuuming the fins, I hit the fan, which stopped it. When it didn't start spinning again, I unplugged the refer, waited 15 seconds, plugged it back in and started praying to any head honcho I could think of. I didn't see any error codes on the front panel (can't remember if there were any in the first place), put everything back together and hoped for the best. When the refer cycled and started the compressor, I felt the heat coming out of the vent, so all was good.

When I thought I broke the dang refer, my first thought was Kato HO EF81 with the grade up kit, or refer? Well, we all need to go on a diet anyway... haha

Why Mexico? Doctors in this field are good over there? I hope the best for your brother and your family.
Not my decision and I question it. My brother when it comes to medical is strange. I get a second opinion and on my last stroke got a few extra opinions. But my brother listens to his friends who f…ing know everything but disappear when he has surgeries. They always know who the best surgeon is, or hospital or whatever…

But he has us, his family but because we don’t live in the same circles he is in doesn’t really listen to us. But we’ll be there for him

This guy supposedly invented the surgery for this procedure. I’m skeptical but I’ll listen and ask questions. I’ll be on the Mayo site tonight investigating

Tom, prayers for your brother!
Thank you. I may need them more than him. 2 hard headed brothers who will clash and then get over it. But oh can we causevexcitement per the sister and my wife!

Good luck Tom. Going to a third world country for a surgical consultation. 🤔 Your brother is braver than I, but I'm sure everything will turn out ok.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with hips

It's troy again...

Woke up with a headache...

Supposed to rain all day today... no wonder the noggin aches. Weather changes do that to me. Nice enough to sleep with the windows open and the cat warming my feet.

Well, Tayvis engagement announcement the other day knocked a "grand announcement" of someone I follow on the socials (not even a D-list celeb)... So he had to make the big announcement (not an engagement) a day later... He has COFFEE!

Seems there is a roaster in the states called "Mad Priest Coffee" and they have some irreverent humour with their java. I won't link to them so those who don't care that kind of humour aren't offended. But I did order two bags. One to support the personality with the roast named after him, and one more to my flavour profile.

I'm definitely a dark roast person. One bag to support Nathan. We'll see how the "fruity" notes in that medium roast go. I'm not anticipating ordering more. And the wife won't drink coffee, so I can't pass it off to her.

Good morning all!

Received a early morning rain shower that lasted a couple hours. Looks like it has moved out of the area. Currently 59F heading
up to a high of 78F. The cooler temps continue before warming up over the weekend.

Still not feeling the greatest, but maybe a little better than yesterday. We will see as the day goes on.

We have a volleyball game tonight, but its at home so no travel involved which is a blessing!

Have a safe day everyone!
