Good Morning All. Cloudy and 69°, only going up to 85° today. Even though there is no rain in the forecast, there's a rainy area across the entire southern part of the state of Oklahoma this morning, some areas are dipping down across the Red River into Texas. There's light showers about 10 miles east of me, but of course they are missing me. The whole system appears to be moving directly easterly, so my chances are pretty slim. Other than Thursday when the NWS is predicting 97°, the highs for the next 10 days are in the 80's.
Spent some time yesterday doing the monthly septic maintenance. Split and stacked up some more firewood and later in the afternoon I went to the new PT session. Twice a week for the next five weeks. It's supposed to rebuild the stamina that I lost during my hospitalization and recovery earlier this summer. All of this talk recently about goulash made me hungry for it; so I made a big container of it for supper. Deferring to
Chad's wishes, I will not post a picture...I didn't think to take one anyway.
Today will start with a trash collection run. Shop trash, train shed debris, empty chlorine bottles, beer bottles and the usual kitchen trash. Load it all in the cart and trek 30 yards to the dumpster and back. That will be my mid-morning workout. Rest of the cooler day will be impromptu.
Out in the train shed yesterday, my time was shortened because I don't get home from the physical therapy until late afternoon. I decided which structure is next to get figures and I also went through the figure box to select them, but didn't have time to get any further; had to hit the pool and make the labor-intensive goulash!
You may remember back in February I assembled a Woodland Scenics kit called Live Wire Manufacturing. Here it is on the layout.
It is not a rail served industry. They make electrical transformers for home and industry here. I have 4 figures and a couple of detail parts, looking for one more to complete it. This will lead me to complete the actual scene next instead of just the earth colored plywood. Additional figures and some vehicles will be added then.
Tom O - That's one hell of a breakfast burrito! Even I could easily get two meals out of that.
please teach California what real pizzas are
Do you mean that bean sprouts and tofu isn't real pizza???
Homemade Tamales were a big seller at work while I was still there. A dozen at a time and there were at least four regular sellers who brought coolers full in every day.
Karl - Around here, the hotdog/sausage vendor has his canopy set up in the HD parking lot right outside of the exit. Does a really good business from what I can see.
Louis - Who does Amazon deliver to in those pre-dawn hours that you work? No deliveries in my part of the world until after daylight, but I am quite rural.
Patrick - It's been a cooler summer here this year as well. I have only recorded 2 days of 100° temperatures this summer, unofficial of course. Our average is 20 days. It has ranged from 0 one year to 71 in 2011.
Everyone have a great Tuesday.
