A lot of postings about Culvers lately. I've never eaten at one, but they seem to be a step or two above the usual fast food place. Is it a sit-down place like Chili's? Closest ones to me are about 45 miles away in two directions. I have eaten at a place that seems similar nearby, a chain called Rodeo Goat that has nothing but burgers and chicken sandwiches.

Culver’s is fast food served up slowly because nothing is made ahead of time. Also nothing has been ever frozen. Better quality than the normal chain fast food places and IMOO better than the Austin, Texas and the Pasadena, Ca InOut Burgers I have been to. Better than any of your Texas chains like Braums or Whataburger.

Sit down or drive in. Sit down is order at the counter and they bring it to you on a tray. Either way you wait while it’s getting cooked. The frozen custard concrete mixers are 100% better than a good McFlurry or a DQ Blizzard. YMMV on that

Backing up is separate from Keychain sharing and being logged into iCloud. (You can back to iCloud but that doesn't mean you're necessarily backing up to iCloud -- I think there is a separate setting for that).
I just checked and yep, a lot of holes available. I turned off and deleted most of them. Still debating on the rest.

Thanks!!

(It's fine you like Culvers better than In-N-Out. My post is not to dispute or discuss that personal preference)

In-N-Out also uses fresh, never frozen beef in its burgers. Which is why you also wait there for your order.

Louis - sorry 5-4
No need to be sorry.

There is no shame in losing a close game to the Astros. The backend of the Astros' bullpen can put the lights out! I was impressed that my boys battled back to tie the game.

You never know for sure, but If our manager had done some things differently we may have had the lead before letting the Astros' bullpen close it out. It is always easy to second guess.

Is it just on my end, or are any of you guys experiencing intermittent, slow, sluggish forum performance?
Occasionally, it seems random to me. I chalk it up to "technology is great, when it works"

On the topic of batteries:

My Mustang sits quietly in the garage for entire winters at a time. Until recently, I've also had to replace the battery about once a year or so, and was attributing their lack of longevity to the lack of winter use. I was sourcing them from AAA, simply because they will come to your door and do the install for free.

Last time, I grabbed a decent name brand battery at Costco instead (can't remember which one offhand) and installed it myself, and am having much better luck with it. I think it's been a couple of years now, and it's still going strong; the aftermath of the coming winter will probably tell the real tale.
What kind of battery are you using in your Mustang? A traditional lead acid battery or a new AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) battery? There are some significant differences between the two. Many late model cars use AGM batteries. Something I knew nothing about until my 2020 Equinox needed one.
I'm kinda wondering if AAA's private label batteries are crappy refurbs or something.
Rest assured if the receipt says it is new it is new. Unless you get a shady AAA contractor.

Hey, just out of curiosity....what is this thread for?! 🤨
When you figure that out let us know. 🤪 I look at it as therapy, without the bills.

trying to watch football with an antenna is not for the faint hearted.
It all depends on your reception. Living in Baltimore City we get good reception.

I'm out of time and I am still a page behind!

Baseball does take up a lot of my time.

Unbelievably I went out to my God Daughter's first baby shower this weekend. I couldn't miss that, but it has me out of whack!

I'm fairly certain it's old school lead acid, but I would actually have to go pop the hood and look to verify it, which I'm far too lazy to do at the moment. :)

My other car is a much newer Lexus hybrid, which does use a more advanced battery (in addition to the NiMH "traction battery", for some odd reason; why have two? I have no clue!). AGM sounds familiar, so it's probably that, but I would have to verify it. I only know offhand that it was a battery style I wasn't familiar with, so I bit the bullet and paid the dealer when I had to replace it since I was in a hurry at the time. :(

Ah, but did the receipt actually say that? I don't honestly know (too long ago), and I kinda doubt it. :)

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and those discussing the Burger-Wars.

The What-a-Burger crowd seems silent in the matter ;)

Woke at 2:30, difficulty getting back to sleep, so moved to the recliner at 4a, and got three more hours. The cat helped by snuggling in, of course.

About to head up to shower. Meeting an author friend for coffee. Told her I was chatting with the AI overlords about Soviet era authors and how they used tools like satire and allegory to disguise their dissident nature.

My author friend was intrigued, so we're getting together at the coffee shop by my neighborhood. I'll be walking over to meet her. That should be enough steps to keep my fitness app quiet this morning.

As for Culvers, I like their onion rings or their crinkle fries. Wife only likes fresh-cut fries or the spicy ones. So we always get one value basket (burger, O-rings, and a beverage), then she adds her stand-alone burger and beverage.

Well, they accidently gave us an extra order of O-rings. That's double what we normally get! So we each had onion burps going last night. Brushed my teeth and gargled some minty-fresh mouthwash early on trying to clear the aftertaste. That was yummy, but a tad too much onion.

Nice day today, but still going to be hot and muggy. Hopefully the hurricane will get close enough to shake our heat dome weather up, but not close enough to cause major damage on the coast.

I'm going to guess you are correct based on what is happening with your battery.

Lead-Acid Batteries have some inherent characteristics that are working against you and your Mustang, cool car by the way.
Self-Discharge rates are as high as 15% per month.
Deep discharges can shorten the lifespan significantly.

What can you do? The simplest thing is to use a battery charger occasionally. By doing so you will prevent deep discharges which are likely the root of your battery troubles. If you decide to use a charger a 2amp charge or less will give you the best results.

FYI: A quality remanufactured lead-acid battery can last as long as a new battery. There is not much in them. The technology in a lead-acid battery is over 140 years old. Since then, the biggest development in lead-acid batteries was the introduction of sealed, valve-regulated lead-acid (maintenance free) batteries in the 1950s.

That is probably more than you wanted to know, but I hope it helps.

Morning all,

Partly cloudy and 75° this morning with a high later of 98°. Expected feels like of up to 105° later.

Back at the office. Knee feels weird as it's the first time I've been in long pants in a month. Nerves still coming around in the surgery area, but feels good.

While I can't say anything about In and Out as I've never been far enough west, I can say I wasn't impressed by the Whataburger I tried in Kansas City. To me it tasted a lot like a Sonic cheeseburger at half again the price. Not a burger place I'd really do again.

Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and 76°, might hit 98° later on. NWS was close with the temperature yesterday, I'll give them accuracy since we had 95°, a degree less than the forecast. However the elusive rain that wasn't in the forecast, came close! The Weather Underground station a mile away around the corner received 0.2" yesterday while I didn't receive even a drop. One of these days... They are still predicting 100° tomorrow and scattered thunderstorms on Wednesday.

Short day yesterday since church takes up most of Sunday morning. Did 2 loads of laundry and I did cut more firewood after lunch, but I have not stacked it yet. Mowed around the garden with the push mower; it grows well from the overlap when I irrigate.
Not totally sure what today will bring. I'm waiting on a call from the tire place to tell me that our new tires for the Accura are in. Thought that I might have gotten the call on Saturday. Late this afternoon I have an appointment at the physical therapy place to chart a course of action to rebuild my stamina after the recent atrial flutter episode. I really think that I am over-medicated and the PT isn't really needed; but I have a cardiologist appointment tomorrow to complain about discuss it.

Since I haven't been out to the train shed much lately, I only just ran trains out there yesterday. Spent about 90 minutes and had another great session with no derailments or uncouplings. I even backed a 16 car intermodal train over 30' around a corner and through 3 switches into the yard without incident.
Here are a few more pictures of some of Chet's structures that got transplanted to my layout.

I added additional figures and plates; and redid the interior lighting to the Gateway Cafe. Many of the details were already there.

I got a lot of hand-painted figures from him and the ones in and around these structures are a mix of his and mine.

Mike - I'm not necessarily experiencing "slow sluggish performance" on this forum, but what I describe as erratic performance. Pages don't load at all and I have to re-click, or 1 or 2 photos don't show up amidst a bunch of others.
Troy - Actually, Whataburger is the only fast food that I have eaten for over 20 years now. I still go about 3-4 times a year.

Everybody have a marvelous Monday.
