I forgot, there was a Culvers in Louisville right next to the motel we did a 34 at. CattleMan's across the street. Good stuff for either. We were Styling! Also, there used to be FudPuckers in Spokane along with a Red Robin. FP was not the chain and is long gone, but great burgers. Red Robin went downhill around here as they got too ritzy; closest to us now is Hayden, ID. Never been to a FuddRuckers, so no clue.

Good Morning All!
55F @ 69% overcast; maybe 85F later.

Burgers: My first In & Out in '15 was in Santa Nella Village south of Stockton on I5 - had room for 70ft across the street. Kept going back. Then Carls/Hardey's when In & Out was not around. Fast forward - we tried 5 Guys in Kalispell last year I think - junk and won't be back. Think that there is a WhataBurger in Kal will have to look for that. The closest good places are Zip's in Ponderay, little further is Dub's in Sandpoint. Since most of those are just to far for only a burger I make them for us. I can build quite the tower burger when we do not hit the local place; Burger Express. In fact, last night I got told 'burgers' so off I went to Burger Express. Forgot it was closed on Sunday, txt'd Maria and she said MickyD's. Should have just came home - 2 1/4Lb with bacon, fries and frosty. Came to $38sumptin. The 1/4Lb things were tiny, maybe 3.5" diameter on a good day with 1/4" of burger. Geesh. Think that they changed the fry oil back to what it used to be, those were different than I remember and OkieDokie. The frosty's always hit the spot.

I don't eat out much, but I do go to Burger Express. They are convenient for my when I sometimes forget to take something out of the freezer. They're not bad, locally owned and they have Dog treats for my dachshunds. Those dogs know every drive through in town that gives treats but try to teach them other tricks??? Nope.

Bruette - I have run out of relatives that have room to store what cars I have left and have my old '72 Chevy C-20 parked on my carport that I am saving for my son. He wants to restore it with his son and I start it every 2 0r 3 weeks, sometimes longer and keep a battery maintainer. Kept them on all of the cars that I didn't drive on a regular basis. Have a Diehard battery in it and with the maintainer, it cranks right over even during the winter.

Willie - Nice to see that you are putting those old buildings to use. Lookin' Good.

When it comes to burgers, mine are my favorite. Leaving in a while to head to Kalispell with a neighbor to go to Costco. I didn't renew my membership being that I very seldom get there and supple transport and the neighbor gets what I'm looking for. A few large packages of ground beef are on my list along with some ribeye steaks.

Onto the archives. Gotta get going.

It would be somewhat similar to Red Robin.

I'm trying to remember what Fuddruckers was like. Last time I ate there was when I lived in the Chicago suburbs and that was a long time ago I fled that area.
Basically, Fuddrucker’s was a place where you ordered your burger, they’d cook it and hand it to you on a plate, then you’d go to a condiment bar to put what you wanted on it.

It's not close to Red Robin pricing. RR is sit down table service.

Culvers is fresh, made to order fast food. So Fast Food plus.

Whoever mentioned Fuddruckers, yes, similar too. Wish Fudds hadn't disappeared from much of the earth. I'd rank them near or equal to Culvers, with a better dining room experience in most of the locations I went to. I like Fudds' O'rings better than Culvers.

The down side (if there is one) to Culvers is they do hire mentally handicapped folks to clean their dining room tables. Simple job, easy for the person to make a wage and have a job.

Saw the limitations of that at last night's Culver's visit. The ketchup pumps to fill the little dipping cups are in that short 'alley' with the drink machine. And someone dropped a ketchup cup (full) , which hit the tile floor, bouced, rotated, and splattered.

Our dining room cleaner saw the aftermath, and paused. I could see the mental wheels trying to process, and it didn't click as part of his job. He stepped over it, and went back to cleaning tables. A few moments later, one of the managers came out, saw the mess, put a "wet floor" sign over it (the yellow signs were right next to the area. She found the dining room cleaner dude and gently steered him in the correct response. he was back in a few moments with a damp mop and had it cleaned up.

Wife had a grabbed a table right by that area, so I kept watching the ketchup, dreading a train wreck of slips and falls. If I had noticed the yellow Wet Floor signs I would have put one out myself. When the manager pulled it out, my brain did an "Oh! That's where they are..."

Not really a down side, since they were responsive to the spill once management knew. But the dining room cleaners do need some leeway in understanding from patrons. Those folks are in the job that is at their capacity.

My grandson wanted to go to the Golden Coral today. The food was excellent! It was surprisingly cheap too. Just under $60 for the three of us. We had three different ladies taking our plates and refilling our drinks. That tripled the tip and the bill, but it was worth it. I never expect to spend less than $200 when we go out. I figure I got off cheap. Usually, I spend more than expected.

I did well to eat healthily. Lots of spinach, a garden salad, baked fish and one potato wedge. Then I saw the chocolate pie. Holy maceral Andy, I had to have a small slice, and it was excellent too! I wanted seconds. I avoided another slice of pie, but I had to snatch a small piece of fudge.

My grandson's driving is getting better and better. He managed his first U-turn. I warned him about the oversteer and he did a respectable job. He is as coachable in driving as he was in baseball. He was my hardest working player in baseball.

Well, I FINALLY received the results of last Tuesday's blood draw. Looking better than expected. While red cell count was slightly down, my A1C dropped from the previous test in April of 5.9; it was 5.7 this time. I think that it was 5.8 in the hospital in June. Glucose level of 106 was lower than expected, but well below my doctor mandated level of 150! Docs recommendation was that I needed to eat more red meat. That I can do. No explanation of why it took so long for the results, as I usually get them the next afternoon.
Off now to the PT session which I expect to be mainly a Q&A session. I've been to this place before. This PT is interfering with my train shed time!
