Good evening folks, worked today at the LGS, business is picking up so that is good news. Trying to decide on a layaway of a 2nd year Ruger 10/22 and a really nice Springfield Armory 1911.
Hit 103 here today with a heat index of 110. Yikes. And the next three days are predicted to be just as hot or worse.
Watching my Cardinals play the Yankees, and they are winning right now.

And you want to know why i own exactly 0 Apple products. I can tweak Microsoft and get stuff to stuck or not stick.

Although Microsoft is attempting to do the same thing so all your devices are interconnected to save you time! Last thing I need is all my work stuff transported to my personal machine because of OneNote.

I mentioned a day or two ago that my phone had turned its wifi on by itself, and had bled my home internet dry. I turned it off, and made sure "auto join" was turned off.
This evening, I looked at the screen on my phone, and saw the little "wifi connected" icon was present, and it was running very slowly again. I opened my settings, and wifi, and sure enough, the damned thing had turned itself back on, and turned "auto join" back on, and turned "random ip addresses" back on. All by itself, after I went in and manually turned everything off.
This time, I went in, and manually turned all that off, again. Then, I clicked "forget this network". We'll see if it turns itself back on again after I deleted the password.
Terry, I think I saw a Twilight Zone episode once that was based on your situation. I’d be gettin busy making one of those aluminum foil hats!😜

Storm clouds are a brewing off the back deck.

We will see if this one gets us. Last nights went South and this one may go North.

And I just opened my iPad, and wifi is disconnected, and the network password not saved.
I guess I’ll need to contact Apple, and have them explain to me why my iPad and iPhone are sharing their settings, even though I’ve turned iCloud off on both.
Apple is voodoo. My ipad tries to connect to my phone as a hotspot when my phone is not doing hotspot. it don't care what the preferences are. somebody's listening...

I got sucked into the Apple ecosystem on my wife’s behalf. Even now that she’s passed away, I still have of their products it is/would be very difficult to dump it and walk away. I mainly don’t try because I hate Android (and Google) attempts to take as much of your data as they can get away with. Apple keeps most of your stuff they steal from you, whereas Google sells it to nearly anybody.

yeah, I like that scene. I think I tried all that before. I forget what the cause was, but it is really strange as I could see Troy's amish paradise video.
When sharing YouTube vids, posters should press the share button beneath the vid on its YouTube page. That usually gives a universal link, instead of the country specific one from the URL bat at the top of the page

Even if you turn iCloud off, if you had it on at one time their keychains would have synched. So even turning off iCloud the individual keychains would both have the WiFi info in them separately.

Not sure how that works. If the phone is. Or a hotspot then the iPad can’t, by definition, try and connect to it as there is nothing to connect to.

I’ve been using Mac’s since 1989 (as an owner) and an iPhone since late 2007 and I had the first gen iPad and a few since then. And everyone in the family has iPhones.

They’ve pretty much behaved as expected the whole time. There are some choices of user experience I’d rather were different but they behave pretty much as expected.

There are “recent” changes like if you use the control center shortcut to turn off WiFi it is really “turn off WiFi until tomorrow” and that sort of thing. (But it tells you that when you hit the button but if you don’t notice that you may be confused). Going into Settings and turning it off there should be more permanent. Stupid things like that.

Just my useless .02.....

10/22's are a dime a dozen even a 2nd year. They're like the Marlin Model 60. THOUSANDS made and no real cult following. There's enough aftermarket parts available to make it an accurate rifle and it would be a whole lot cheaper to shoot than a 1911.

The Springfield depends upon the model & caliber....TRP, Loaded, Operator, etc.

You've got first world problems deciding which one or just buy both. 😁

Can't do both right now. I'm a sucker for 10/22s [got 4 of them here right now] but an even worse sucker for 1911s. I usually wind up restoring mudpuppy guns, but both are really nice. The 1911 is a Loaded wight Trijicon sights and almost no wear. Only bad thing about it is a full length guide rod, which I hate. Oh well, got til Monday to figure it out, when I go in at Noon.
