Well, howdy there internet peeps and those who appreciate a trip to Culvers

It's troy.

The one thing I haven't found at Culver's is a brisket as good as mine.

It was yumm!

As was the wife's cornbread. She left it in for a minute longer than she usually does, and three minutes longer than I did when I tried to make her recipe. This one was done in the center. But, we always attack it right away, and the first piece out of the pan is a crumbly mess. We' agreed to give it another 10 minutes of cooling on the counter before slicing into the cornbread.

After dinner, I cut down the rest of the brisket. It began as just shy of 17 lbs before I trimmed it last night. I suspect it was about 14 pounds when put on the grill.

As I cut the left-overs, I put about 1/4 to 1/3 lb into individual snack bags - cutting out the fat that doesn't render completely. Especially that accordian piece between the two muscles on the point end.

Even after that I had enough snack bags full of meat to fill a gallon sized freezer bag. That will last me about three months, having one or two each week for lunch.

For the rest of the evening, I'll be chillaxing with the Lance Mindheim book and a Dr. Pepper Zero Sugar. Maybe two. You never know about me.

Heading out to Culvers for dinner. Never been to one, but you guys who have been seem to approve.
BBL

Butter burgers are good but get the double! Chicken sandwiches are excellent. The fries are awesome. But the grandkids and my wife prefer the onion rings. I love the fried shrimp dinner but some Culver’s over fry them so YMMV on that one. As MIGALYTO wrote get a concrete mixer. If you like a DQ Blizzard or a McDonalds McFlurry you will love a concrete mixer.

They also make a mean pot roast sandwich.

Have fun and if you don’t like it, you don’t have to go back!

Good choices all around. Doesn’t the caffeine in the Dr Pepper Zero bother you for sleeping?

Last week they ran a sale for $10.00 a case and I bought 4 cases, but that shot the grocery bill thru the roof!
The last time I did that was Costco again (Dr. Pepper for me) -- but it was four flats. I had to find a place to put them!

I had the garden hose with a camera on it pushed into me last Thursday. They cut out 2 things that weren't supposed to be there. I called the clinic on Tuesday and the pathology report came back Monday. The doc needs to review results. The Gastroenterology clinic said that my doc is working as a Hospitalist all week and won't have a chance to review the results until some time next week.😐

The good news is that I'm not the only one who'll be waiting for a phone call.
The "wait for the results" thing has always bothered me. I get it, but it's very annoying, and makes health care seem... impersonal, or llike they don't think it's important. Mostly perception I imagine --they really do care, or so I hope -- but still...

I was actually surprised they told me as much as they did yesterday; usually they refuse to tell me anything at all until after it's all analyzed or whatever.

When I had this done a decade ago, they removed a few polyps. Fortunately they turned out to be benign. Praying yours are the same!

Case and a half a week on Diet Coke makes her a welter weight. I go through at least 2.5 to 3 a week.😂 I have been tapering back though as it is becoming a bit expensive.
That's about my level; I drink about a six pack a day of Dr. Pepper, give or take a little. It's not healthy, I'm sure, but a very hard habit to kick. I managed to quit smoking, but soda? Not so much.

Oh yeah. 16.9oz 6 packs Diet Dr Pepper and family of beverages are on sale 4 packs for $10.00 limit of 4. I’ve been to the grocery or Terry every day since Sunday to buy the limit of 4. When not on sale they are around $5.00 to $6 per 6 pack. Coke and Pepsi products are higher.
I picked up a couple of 36-can flats of Dr. Pepper for $18.79 each today, so around $3.15 a six pack of 12 ounce cans, not on sale. The last sale had them for like $3 off the flat or something.

I remember when I could get one out of a vending machine for that price; now it's like a buck a can in most places from what I've seen.

Not my picture but my friend Marc. Last night I missed an OPS session because the grandson had hockey. Only 4’ x 28’ it is a great compact switching layout that entertains 4 operators.

This is the Port of Green Bay Railroad, I believe 1952!

The scale is used on pulp loads, coal cars and outbound paper. Locomotives cannot cross the scales

The papermill... they moved 23 cars working the mill. Left to right... incoming pulp wood loads, coal-fired power plant and incoming supplies, more incoming chemicals such as clay and chlorine, inbound supplies, and outbound paper shipping (must be weighed). The very right is the Milwaukee Road main.

I have operated here twice in the last 18 months. This really convinced me that small layouts can be operated prototypically, keep operators busy and be fun.

I typically stop caffeine by 7 if not before. 3 hours before bed with moderate to light consumption isn't a problem

Interesting, we all seem to react differently to caffeine. Terry could never sleep if she had caffeine after 3pm. Caffeine never seemed to prevent me from sleeping. I limit myself though to just 1 bottle of 16.9 oz diet Dr Pepper at wake up. The reason. About 2-3 years ago the doctors said it’s not good for my blood pressure.

I have 1-2 cups of coffee before 8am and I am done for the day. I don't drink soda, but if I have any caffeinated drinks after noon I can't sleep.

Good Morning All,

Weather today 77 now at 3am with 78% humidity. High of 96.

Not much going on with the switching layout, operations a few times. Still needs more trees put back on and some scenery touched up from the move a year ago ( don't want to rush anything ;)).

Not railroad related but next project is, well, sorta. I've been building a 1/12th scale Chesapeake 17 Kayak and finished that up yesterday morning. Pictures below. The next project is a San Francisco Trolley by Occre.

Other than that, just working and trying to get over a sore throat for the last couple of days.

Enjoy the pictures and I really enjoy coming on here and reading all what you do and I always get motivated to build, operate, something with the railroad. I appreciate you all. Thank you.
