Hello all, 84 here right now, heading for 95.
We both slept like the dead last night. Hit the chiropractor this AM and then braved Walmart even though I was not wearing pajamas. Heading in for a couple of hours in the LGS today so the Boss can take off early to go pick up his kids. Gonna try to spoil my Missus the next week or so, as she wore herself out caring for everyone. Got a couple of John Deere tractors coming in for a flatcar load to duplicate a consist frm the book "America;s Colorful Railroads" by Don Ball. A gleaming UP 2-8-0 with a UP boxcar, UP flatcar with tractors on it, a combine and coach. What a perfect consist from the 1950s.

Good afternoon from a cloudy but ok outside day in Wisconsin. It’s 81f degrees but the humidity has plummeted to 70% meaning it is somewhat tolerable.

I hit up the USPS office this morning and the guy behind the counter fixed my online access. Turns out he was the local post master and could fix it. I asked why he’s at the counter? He said they are running off the best staff he has ever worked with in 35+ years with the USPS. He’s short staffed and the 3 new workers at the beginning of the month have already quit.

I have a few more boxes packaged up as I sold more HO scale 45’ containers and chassis. I also am exchanging diesels with a buddy in Fort Worth and that is packaged up. Finally I am forwarding the F7 A & B units for the Michigan Interstate that have been visiting the last couple weeks

They are on to Commerce, Colorado along with one of my Wisconsin Interstate Gp40-2L’s #4022 for the Freelance Meet in conjunction with the the Prototype Modelers Meet in Greeley, Co on 9/27 and 28. Just more fun with trains

I was going to go back tomorrow to the post office but I will be at a OPS session in LaCrosse, Wi starting at 9am. It’s a 2 hour+ drive the Crew Van will pick me up at 6:30. So I need to head out to the PO.

On a 1’x1’ piece of scrap plywood my 6 yr old great nephew started laying track under my direction..

He glued down the cork, nailed down some scrap track, made some terrain and painted it all…
Next step is a dirt border next to the bottom track and some ballasting…

Wow, he's gotten more done with a layout than I have ever done. I need to get started...

I figured that out after my first one too.

The first bottle went down a little rough, but ok. I made the mistake of chugging the second just to be done with it. It all came up, and I had to run to CVS and get 2 more bottles and start over.

It helps a little to put it in the refrigerator and have it cold. At least for me it made it a little better.
Cold is way better.

As I recall, the last time, my prep was Gatorade + Mirolax in some sort of effective concentration. I'm on the 10 year plan so I'll find out next year if that's still recommended.

Right now I've had enough doctors / procedures for a while, and still have eight weeks of wearing the cervical collar.

Evening all,

Busy day as I had PT and we've been dealing with peaches. Got a bunch dehydrated and some individually frozen I need to bag up.

Looked up a recipe for peach bread, so after trying one, I've been tasked to make more for the freezer. It is actually not too bad.

Had 1.6" of rain overnight. Extends by another week the need to run sprinkler system. That keeps the accountant off my butt for getting grass wet...

I don't know why, But some dang fool has decided to rehabilitate a Tyco Chattanooga Choo Choo. See it came in an auction lot I received. It wasn't the piece that I purchased the lot for, it was just there included in the pile. Actually there were 2 of them, but 1 had stripped gears I could not repair. Some idiot decided to take it apart, clean the motor, lube and reassemble it, replace the traction tires, add a drop of smoke fluid and send it down the pike. The damn thing ran, the headlight lit and it puffs a little smoke! For the life of me I can't understand why I did this (and spent 8 bucks on traction tires). Worse yet I am getting a real kick watching it run around!

Must be some kind of mental deficiency.
Or a psychological imbalance,
Or I need a stiff drink,
Or maybe I have had too many.

I need therapy? 🤔

I hope this doesn't get me kicked out of the serious modelers club! 😔

Peach bread? sounds delish!

Around here we have Zucchini bread almost every day. We've had quite the bumper crop of them this year.

We do it in stages, because he is only here usually once a week…
Simultaneously I gave him a Tamiya 1/35 T-72 which he is also building when he comes over…
He asked me how long the tank would take to build… I said “I don’t know, maybe a year” and his face dropped
But to his credit, in maybe 3 building sessions, the hull is finished..
He is a smart kid and the Tamiya instructions make it easy

None of the above.

Maybe, if so it would be unrelated to your modeling. 🤪

Oh hell no! Just the opposite, this only proves you are a well rounded Master Modeler. From the top of the line to a K-Mart Blue Light Special there is nothing you can't do!

In addition, you brought back some great memories for me, thank you! I used to work part-time at Toys R Us during the Christmas season assembling bikes and other toys. I loved that job! I remember seeing the Tyco Chattanooga Choo-Choo on the shelves.

I enjoyed being in the store so much I would walk around the store looking at everything during my breaks. If I had time to take a break, they kept me busy and I loved it!
