Good morning. It's partly cloudy and 75.
Good Monday morning! It's 73°F and clear.
Have a great day!
Good morning all. It is a warm day with the temperature to be in the mid 20s C.
A large coffee on the go please, Flo.
Taking Dawn to the Hospice this afternoon.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A year from now you may wish you had started today.
Good morning gang!
64° under partly cloudy skies looking for a high today of 86°

While the Perseid Meteors are few and far between this morning because of the brightness of the nearly full moon, Venus and Jupiter are very prominent in the eastern sky this morning. They will be at their closest tomorrow morning, Venus will disappear shortly.
Good morning to those that can see the skies, UFO’s, Venus or Jupiter. It’s so overcast here the huge tree on the hill cannot be seen today from my south deck! It’s 69f degrees heading to 83 with 100% humidity now and high 80’s later. The walk this morning was a stupid idea but I wanted to do it in fresh air. 2 miles today and that was enough, too humid!
I’ll head to the post office this morning to ship some packages. I was unable yesterday to pay for labels and ask for a pickup today. The USPS site said I was unauthorized! This is the last of my August commissions. I did start on the September commissions a couple weeks ago. I have 2 of the 14 done but all have some progress. I’d like to get the promised deliveries before 9/15 done by Thursday. I’m fairly confident I can get the 3 more diesels done by Friday morning. Then in those 1st 2 weeks of September the daughter can handle shipping them on the dates the clients ok’d.
Enjoy the day

I'm up. Wrote a thousands words in the current Work in Progress book. Only because I avoided looking at the news and seeing whatever fresh hellscape had cropped up. I'll dig into fighting hell later today.
First, I need to get some groceries. Wife requested a brisket on the Kamado. Had to tell her that's an overnight prep, and light the fire at 6am cook. So she wasn't getting Brisket today. She settled on steak. So now I need to go hunt up a sirloin. I'd rather have ribeye, but she prefers sirloin, so that's what we get.
Good Morning All!
62F @ 62% clear. No Perseid viewable here - moon too bright.
Garbage: In Montana there are dumpster(s) placed around in specific locations; most of the time inside a bear proof area. These are free to all to dump in them. They usually do have an area for appliances and metal wanting those types separated from the ...um... normal garbage. The result is there is not much junk on the side of the road. Ya, still are folks with ID ten T problems and are fined if found. It is amazing that someone would dump stuff with their address on the mail included. Sure, inside city limits there usually is some garbage service with a monthly, but why go there. In fact, the bears help you with getting the stuff out of those street side cans and it can be spread over a wide area; grrr. I do a dump run maybe once a week and get rid of the household stuff. Driving 8 or 9 miles round trip is much cheaper than the ~$50 per month service stuff. If we are cleaning out something, back of the truck it goes separated by type: wood, metal, appliance, construction stuff and placed into specific bins/areas at the dump.
Both Maria and I got some sort of food poisoning yesterday, put us down almost all day. Went to the store yesterday early and some dang doughnuts jumped into my cart. Suspect that they changed the oil used for doughnuts or it was tainted somehow. It was the only thing we ate in the AM. If that is the case, there are gonna be a ton of folks with that issue as the case was pretty much empty by the time I got there.

Good Morning: 67° off a low of 58°, going to 87°. Humidity is increasing. Tropic Atlantic is becoming active. (Right on Schedule).
Yesterday's interesting discussion on the B&O Group IO list concerned the proper colors for Reading Yellow over Green units. Correct conclusion: Most models are off...Yellow too thin Green too bright.

That's what you get for sleeping in...
I just learned a bit about something called fly tipping...
I don't want to know!
after the 1st cutting the g/s goes in to get paid by grandma. Comes out with a $50 and says she gave him a tip as I was too cheap!
Another wonderful wife.
Louis - She may be a wonderful wife, but paying the grandkids extra was not called for.
I won't tell you and TomO
@TLOC what I think, you cheap...
But seriously, I spoiled my kids, I still spoil my grandsons. For the most part it has not turned out well for me. My daughters are ungrateful. I don't see much of my son anymore except for holidays. He says, "call me if you need anything" and I know he will do anything for me. He should know I wouldn't ask for a glass of water if I was dying in a desert. I don't see my oldest grandson or the youngest.
Only my grandson Ayden is truly close to me and calls me regularly, just to talk. He is humble and grateful for everything. He is turning out to be the man I was raised to be, without the mean streak I acquired on my own.
To be fair to my kids; I am blunt and brutally honest. Other than Ayden, they don't seem to respect that. What do they expect from a worn-out old street rat? My money is always welcomed, but me, not so much anymore. They have no idea how hard this old street rat had to work to earn that kind of money.
Fly tipping here is dumping your trash (without being seen) and not paying anyone to take it away. Therefore the Council has to foot the bill to clear it away.
The people who do it are too lazy to take it to the local 'Council owned Tip'. Which is free.
I knew I didn't want to know.
I'll dig into fighting hell later today.
Do like I do and skip it.
That's what you get for sleeping in...
How did you know? I slept to 11:34pm "this morning"
99 yesterday, 100 today, and suppossed to be 97 tomorrow. Humidity is staying right around 30% so it's not that big of a deal. I was out pruning maple trees around 11am without any problems. Our peak heat of the day isn't until around 5-6pm.
Train stuff? Trying to figure out if I want to build a little N scale layout, a 2x4 HO scale portable switching layout, tear down the current layout and start over, sell off/give away extra cars/engines/structures to a newbie, build a mega structure, or just wait until late Fall when I have more time inside to think.

Better get cracking, you have some reading to do!

Did you blink? Like I said the other day, we are a prolific group
Good morning all!
A very cloudy hazy morning. Currently the temps are 74F heading up to a high of around 85F. The humidity is the big killer. Current
humidity levels are hovering around 91%.. One forecast has rain later this morning, and the other says no rain today. At least one of
them will be correct. The both pretty much agree on the temps.
Monday morning laundry is on the agenda today. Im sure other things will crop up as well.
Last night I was going to try another attempt at painting the mountains. I ended up not doing them as I couldn't find any more mixing
jugs suitable for thinning paint. I have already gone thru everything here on the several previous attempts. I think I will run to the Dollar
Store this morning and get a couple cheap bottles of juice and use those.
Have a safe day everyone!

Cant shut us up when we have something to say!

Evenin', folks. For me, at least. It's 85F and 74% out here on the patio, with just a few puffy clouds in the sky, floating around like little lost cotton balls... I'm about to go back inside because the humidity sucks. Seems to be going around today...
Am stressing. Will be stressing even more tomorrow, as that's the day before the procedure. The porcelain throne will probably be seeing far more of me than you will tomorrow. Because I'm so looking forward to that...
I owe a few responses around here, but the totally irrational stress levels ("it's just a colonoscopy! You've done this before!") are too high for me to want to do anything other than lose myself in a some story or other, so I'll probably see you all in a couple of days.
Have a good day, folks!
