Morning all,

64° and clear this morning. Some rain from storms that mainly held to the Oklahoma border counties, and even then, mostly in Oklahoma.

I do appreciate the cooler temps, only supposed to get to 82° today.

5 pages to catch up on. Server data moves went surprisingly well. Had a couple of small issues that everyone now has the fix for in their emails. No other calls, but it was a late night Friday and I had to come in early Saturday for a couple of hours. I spent the day yesterday getting the stuff done I couldn't do on Friday or Saturday. So far it's quiet this morning.

I still managed to get the stuff I needed to do done, although I could have still used another day off.

Now on to read the last 5 pages.

Good Morning All. Clear and a tad cooler this morning at 80°. For some reason, we're only expecting 94° today after 103° yesterday. Tomorrow and Wednesday are also expected to be below 100°, might even dip into the 60's the next three nights.

Spent a lot of time indoors yesterday with a couple of loads of laundry including the weekly bed linens; had to empty the dishwasher and repair the robotic vacuum cleaner. And some time on the forum with my picture thread.

Today is back to the doctor grind with something called an echo cardiogram and another called a carotid doppler. I had both done about 4-5 years ago with my primary care guy, but these today will be in my cardiologist's office. Frustrating that 3 years ago, I had only a primary care doctor. Now in addition to him, I have a cardiologist, pulmonologist, a gastroenterologist and a dermatologist! And after today's tests, I may have to go back to see the vascular surgeon that I saw briefly a few years ago (he told me that my doc was overreacting). I think that all of these guys are golfing buddies of the primary care guy and he just wants to spread the Medicare money around. Of course after the tests today, I will have to schedule another visit to find out what they mean. The cycle repeats.
Then Wednesday I get the left eye cataract surgery with a follow up on Thursday. And another follow-up next Tuesday! Since this is elective, I can't complain although the multitude of follow-ups seems onerous. Another one on September 5!

Since I did not spend time outdoors yesterday, I had a little extra time in the train shed after church. I added a driveway/access road and fianlized the placement of all of the structures except the dog house. Here are some progress shots.
First I added a chain link fence to the chicken house for their yard, and weathered the base of the structure.

The blank spot here is for the garden and dog house

Far from finished though, as I intend to add trees and detail stuff here, like a mailbox, a push mower and hay bales. I have been doing a little enhancement of the existing ground cover along the tracks.

Hughie - My wife makes a Cajun recipe with shrimp and grits. Not bad if you "blacken" the shrimp to add flavor to the grits.
Mac - I am still impressed with SD45's like the one that you posted yesterday.

Everybody have a great day.

you are forgetting the doctors doing your eyes. You will need to see at least 1 a year from now so he can tell what a great job he did!

Better to have doctors when you need them then have no doctors and needing them.

Good late morning from the chilly wetness of So. Central Wisconsin. I normally get up at 5:30- 5:45 and get outside for the 2-3 mile walk or swim my laps. Walked out of the bedroom this morning to Terry watching GMA on ABC at 8:03AM. Heck, why wasn’t she following her morning routine? I asked why she’s still here. Looking out the windows it’s raining. She said she was ready to go in the drizzle at 5 but as she got in the ATV it started coming down cats and dogs, that means heavy. She said it’s been like that since, very heavy, needed rain. But, I don’t believe I have slept as good as I did last night in years. Boy, it felt good. I think I am used to the sounds of the house now!

It’s 63 now heading to a balmy 65f degrees. Rain chances per the hourly chart on the WeatherChannel app are above 80% till 6 when it drops to 45% and goes down from there. The beaker collecting the rain will have to wait before I check it. The computerized weather station on the property says 3.21” since the event started at 6:30pm Sunday.

Heading off this afternoon to Inverness, Nova Scotia for the delayed golf at the Cabot Links. I have 2 sets of rain gear packed as we will be getting wet over the next 3 days of golf. Terry is coming along as are most of the 44 guys partners/SO/Wife. They have a few side trips planned but if it rains it may not be fun for them. They all knew it. Coming here is for golfing, there is not much else to do that we can determine off site. We will be home Friday.

The IPadPro is staying home and the iphone and I do not get along well when I try to type. So I will look in but doubt I will contribute. Enjoy the day

I tore out the old cabinets and decided to replace all the old sheet rock being some much of it was destroyed when I removed the back splash tile.
I bought a new stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and over the stove microwave. Home Depot had a sale if you bought 4 kitchen items. $300.00 off. The electrician was here this morning to go over the under-cabinet lighting.

Troy- Agreeing with my wife prevents getting bumps and bruises on my head.
Years ago, I got others benefits, too.🥰
Well, I exercised my veto power today. Hope I don't get voted off the island tonight.

Leaving Niagara falls at about 2pm, after walking enough that the apple watch says I did just over 15,000 steps already, she suggested we stop in a local distillery on the way back.

Mind you, this is a "just killing time to avoid sitting in the hotel room" tactic. She HATES Whisky. And if I'm driving, I'm not going to be doing any tastings.

I said no. No distillery tour/tasting. I want to go back and put my feet up, so the dogs stop barking at me.

We did make it to the falls. Went up the Skylon tower (think space needle) and took lots of pics before we walked down to the Falls. Went and got lunch after that on Clifton St. VERY NOISY touristy trap place. Like a loud Las Vegas strip experience. I think the place was Montana BBQ??? I had the Brisket Sammy, wife had MacNCheese (not "Kraft Dinner" variety, but good, goody macNcheese. Then back to the space needle because their gift shop had the best prices on souvenirs. Got a ball cap that says CANADA with a maple leaf, a coffee cup with a moose, and a shot glass (wife's).

Then we got in the car, and drove to the Niagara Falls Power Station... big mistake. Didn't realize it was as close as it was... So we paid another $35Canadian for a second time parking (first time near Clifton St. was $20 Canadian)

Paid for the self-guided tour, and tunnel access. The tour, meh. Hoover Dam was more impressive. The tunnel however... 2,200 feet at 180 feet under street level, and the view was the best! I'd say better than the boats! We were close enough, without getting drenched like the 700 people on each boat.

I'm not griping and this is not a rant but wasn't a new thread started for Willies layout pictures so they would not have to be posted in the coffee shop? Just saying.........

Is this for a new layout room?

Good afternoon, all. Hot, say no more. Got the yard mowed, still needs edging, made a HD run for a few honey-dos. I did manage a little time in the train room. Some progress made on the warehouse. I dislike windows and this kit has 33 of them. Every opening needed to be filed or sanded. Not one was just pop in the window. So now rafter tails are being added. These windows are so small, a dozen of them can be laid out in a square inch.

Troy - Like the pictures of the falls. I was about 12 when I saw them. I wanted to ride "The Maid of the Mist", but mom didn't want her and my sister to get soaked. Does the "Cave of Winds" still exist? Another soaker.
