These "pancakes" are buns wchich compose the gator sandwich. You have no clue what you're missing😆
Not sure they needed to show the roasting heads. A few strips of gator back or stomach or some other non identifiable part would be better.

I think I had gator jerky or something like that once. Our fish-and0game gun club in NH back in the 90s had a family day and they bought a bunch of exotic game meat to try and IIRC gator was one of them. Was pretty good.

They guy that does the roasting probably put those, so no one would think they're eating huge rats. If you look carefully behind, the whole body is roasted with tail. But we're all different, you ever watch "Indiana Jones, Temple of doom"? I would deffinitely try some of that cuisine at the castle;)

I already need to sleep a week but it ain't happenin'

Trying to arrange someone to come install windows but also parallel someone with a truck to help me pick up a few of my windows so I can start installing them myself. I won't get them all done (some are too big or we need a lift etc) but if I can get a half dozen or dozen done it will be faster and cheaper...

In parallel trying to get the insulation for the ceiling and garage roof guy back in the loop and also the guy who drills the geothermal shafts.
Don't overwork yourself, rest is important. Exhaustion can cause other medical problems.

Good morning all. More rainfall today.

Morning arrival of Marella Explorer 2 to the Port of Tyne.
The sky and sea are not always blue. Clouds are not always white.

See the different colours of greenery. Different colours in the ballast.

warn your kids, they think they are invulnerable, and this seems to prove the weather is killing them

so sorry not been around very busy, saw this and could not ignore it
Just to give you an idea in your terms, yesterday it was 42°C here. To us it was 108°F.

Good morning fellow travelers, eaters of foods I won’t, sun worshippers and modelers. The temperatures are rising again in So. Central WIsconsin. High of 86f degrees with calm breezes up to 4mph are predicted and the AQ# is 32. Right now it’s 69f and the cushions on the deck are a bit damp and I will need to flip them. Nice looking skies! The 90+ degree stuff is coming back for the weekend.

A medicine run is the only thing I have to do today.

I will swim around 8AM and have slowly graduated up to 60 minutes of continuous laps. Still a struggle the last 15 minutes but it will get to feeling better the more I do it. I have been swimming every day I have been home the last 2 weeks so I am happy with that progression. The walking is still every other day and 2-3 miles along with the swimming are good exercise. If only the belly would go away quicker…

The new air booth was dropped last Friday while being loaded. The HVAC guy will have a new one fabricated hopefully he thinks next week. Supposedly the only thing salvageable were the 2 exhaust fans

I still am working on final track plans but there is 134’ of framework built and cantilevered from the wall. The base cabinets that were built to surround the original stove are now going into my shop. The new cabinets are coming today. The counter tops for the stove area are coming next week and the sinks (glazed concrete farm sinks) are being worked on. Finally, we were hoping to get an occupancy permit around the 15th but the inspector is gone for 2 weeks starting the 10th.

Welcome back JAZ!

Good Morning All. Clear but hazy on the eastern horizon, and 80° to start our day. Expecting 107° through Sunday and then maybe rain on Tuesday with just 99°. The rain chance is 50%, just before dawn.

Today is the big day, the cataract surgery on the right eye beginning around 9:45. Why do I have to fast from midnight when they are doing eye surgery??? I am still apprehensive about someone poking around in my eye, but your comments have been positive and the doctor promised that it wouldn't hurt. But I will still be awake and see what is going on. I am remaining positive.

I guess that yesterday's doctor visit went OK. He noted improvements, drew more blood and set another appointment for a month from now.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I tackled another small project. Basically expanded Rycon Township a bit further north. I have had this structure tentatively placed next to the motorcycle repair shop, and it is time to make it permanent.
Wagner & Sons is the local beer distributor, a small operation for a small town. It is no longer rail-served, but the main still runs behind it.
IMG_0093.JPG

While the structure was off the layout, I added some details. A vent stack for the bathrooms and a gooseneck lamp over the door.
IMG_0094.JPG

IMG_0096.JPG

Also added the "no Parking" signs in front of the doors.
IMG_0097.JPG

I began by painting an asphalt parking lot, and to the left I added a tree along with ground foam which extended along the narrow ROW and also covered the right side.

I will be coming back to this to add stripes in the parking lot and a fence of some sort.

Chad - Quite a bit of progress on the house since the last update.
Swal - I won't see those kinds of temperatures until December!
Tom O - It is interesting about the timing of the the gardening seasons between you and me. That sounds like me back in April-early May..

Gotta go and get prepared for the surgery. Granddog is looking at her empty food dish that I forgot to fill last night!
Everybody have a great day.

This morning @ 0650. Meanwhile on the front porch:

Going up to 79° today. Some heat wave, eh? My issue isn't that some areas of the country are hotter than usual this summer. That's Nature. My gripe is that the "Local" TV News persists in telling us (65+) to stay indoors due to the excess heat, long after the Four Day heat wave was broken. Some older folks actually believe these people.

Willie:
Best wishes for a successful surgery.

Willie, nothing but good wishes to you today.

Greetings All! 66 this morning looking for 88 as a high with sunny clear skies. It was 94 yesterday and the quoted thunderstorms did not materialize; however, I had just enough drops on my windshield to make a muddy mess from the dust that comes from the desert during Santa Ana winds.

Sure lots of interesting posts yesterday and this morning?
TROY - While I do enjoy all seafood - I would be curious to know who decided that an oyster, clam, crab, and every other hideous looking creature from the sea was editable?

WILLIE - Best wishes for a successful outcome - I still hesitate over anyone touching near my eyes although I have spent countless hours trying to destroy them using grinders, saws, and other kinds of powered tools without wearing protection. I caught a rock in the corner of my right eye from a lawnmower when I was in HS - bled like a stuck hog and the scar is still there!

GUY - Great photos - I hate the criminals too, but I like your solution!

MAC - Be careful there - showing those GN locos may cause PATRICK to wet his pants!

Managed to pay all the bills yesterday and even have enough to take my bride out for a nice dinner for her 3/4 century celebration next week. Currently trying to get all the siblings, kids, and Gkids together is proving to be a slight problem. I want to try and surprise her if I can pull it off.

In the meantime she is trying to drive me to the funny farm with her re-modeling ideas after telling her that I was not going to move. If we only had 1/2 the "stuff" we both have accumulated over the years, I could entertain downsizing, but an't gonna happen for a while.

She came at me yesterday with: "You know that to get what I want is going to cost $50k +"
I replied: "If we moved then out current interest rate would double - plus $40k RE commissions, plus another 15-20k in closing costs and moving expense would be more than what you want done".

Afternoon All,

Started out the day at 77F and the air was so humid from an evening rain it was almost overwhelming. It's better now...just normal for August in FL. Around the house I did the animal daily upkeep, I did the second water pour, but I may need to do a third. I'll see tomorrow if it's needed. After that son and I pulled weeds in the flower bed and by the AC unit. I am officially hot and tired. Not sure what's on the agenda for tomorrow.

Troy- Nice touch with the glass on the track with the cars on either side.

Joe- I have the website "Pennsy and NW style PL Signals" saved on my laptop for info and reference.

Mac- Nice vacation photos. Enjoy your trip.

David- Nice photos. In my ignorance I had to look up where Tyne was.

TomO- Fingers crossed on the inspection.

Jaz- Welcome back.

Willie- I hope the surgery went well. Nice detailing around the beer distributor.

Terry- That would be me on anesthesia.

Sherrel- They were probably started to be eaten by early man to keep from starving. SWMBO sounds like MOH when she gets an idea firmly planted in her mind. We love them, but oh boy at times.

I hope everyone has a good night.
