That reminds me of a few years back. We had something like £20 35p in a bank. They sent a letter to tell us the information. The sting was the bank charged us £25.00 to say so. Now we were overdrawn £4.65!!! We contested it; and lost. Meanwhile they sent a further three letters to say we were overdrawn; at £25.00 each time. Yes we were now £79.65 overdrawn. We had to pay it. The Bank Manager could not understand why we closed our account there.
I may have to find this when it comes out in N. I have 4 UP locomotives -- my only US ones -- two in UP gold/yellow and two special liveries. I'm a sucker for special liveries.
As I posted a few weeks ago, we all breathe a sigh of relief when the Dow drops only 300 points! I just checked a minute ago and it's down just 200 points 30 minutes before closing. But I get your point about the reporting of only bad news.

Despite the slow start the Birds are only five games back in the loss column. As Earl Weaver used to say, "You can't win the pennant in April, but you can lose it" My Birds are still alive!
