Good Morning, all! 79 and sunny. It is a bit muggy as the sun pulls the moisture from the heavy rains a few days ago. I suspect the mosquitos will be visiting before to long.
Saturday morning cartoons were a staple for me and my sisters, but only after cleaning our rooms. Mighty Mouse, Heckle & Jeckle, Ruff & Reddy and one of my favorites, Fractured Fairy Tales. If homework was done in time, we could watch Howdy Dowdy which came on right after Kate Smith.
Dishwasher is due this afternoon. HD gave us a $50 gift card for the delay.

STAY SAFE
LATER

Good mornin' crew. It's 41 and mostly cloudy in Cheyenne this AM. Winds are S @ 15 gusting to 26. Looking for a high this afternoon of 62 and a low tonight of 42. Slight chance of light rain and an occasional t-storm later this evening and into tomorrow.

Quiet day yesterday. NJ(ret) had eye appt yesterday afternoon so D#2 chauffeured us around. Picked up Chinese for dinner.

UPS tracking sez my package of track and turnouts out for delivery. Walmart grocery, etc., delivery coming @ 10am or so. No MRR Club today. Got stuff to do here.

Y'all enjoy your weekend and take care.

My childhood--such that it was, was--strange.
I got my cartoon fix from "Willie the Worm", and his projectionist, "Newton" the Mouse. My childhood TV viewing was censored...even made the local newspaper. (My wife actually found the article during an "Ancestry" search).

Wile E. Coyote regardless of who he was chasing, is incredibly funny, even when you have seen the gag for the thousandth time.
Tom & Jerry
Very funny. Especially the episodes where Tom is being tormented by Jerry, the Bull Dog and the Housekeeper's Broom in the same episode.
Sylvester is like any black and white alley cat. Persistent to the point of annoyance at times, but funny.

One of the cats we 'adopted' (he came visiting and never left until he crossed Rainbow Bridge) was 'Sylvester'. A lovely cat with black and white markings.

Geez, if he’s at MSRP that may be a super deal come May! But totally understand as I avoid buying at MSRP.

My LHS has reduced his current discounts from up to 25% daily and more on special sales days of up to 50% to 10% across the board. He’s worried if he’ll be in business next year at this time
The current business model is getting old in the tooth, even without the tariff issues. Too many pre ordered products arriving several years after anticipated, at a higher than anticipated price point = too many Amtrak 50th Anniversary P42s at closeout prices to get rid of them, for example.
I anticipate that if pricing gets too crazy, the secondary market will jump.

Strictly, as a consumer, I stopped pre ordering several years ago, when I realized I might not live long enough to see my preorder arrive. 🙄 For example, the Bowser Hammerheads, are just arriving after a considerable delay. The rest of the non hammerhead Alcos...RDG passenger for instance are still "enroute", to be determined.

For what it's worth, most importers/distributors will reinvent themselves to benefit from what ever the market conditions end up.

One of my friends sent me a photo of the new crate motor he got for his car.
I'm not sure I should say anything...

We had a wonderful day with high temp around 65f.

Since installing the new backdrop, I had to clean all the tracks and the wheels on the locomotives which sat idle for over a week. After about an hour of maintenance, everything ran smooth,

Supper tonight was at a Veterans fundraiser, heard some PTSD testimonies, gave to a worthy cause and got filled up on some good home cooking (Sweedish meetballs) in the process.

Rain in the forecast.

I am singing "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" tomorrow at the Danforth Community Church, will be giving a brief testimony about recent events. 11 am to all those interested. ;)

Have a good night all, Dave LASM

Morning all, tea please.

House move imminent has seen model railroad operations largely shut down ready for the move but hasn't stopped me digging out a Walthers City Station kit I have had on ice for many years 'just in case' and building it, the eastern end of a planned new layout in the new place:

The station building needs weathering amd toning down to lose the plastic look, the old Con-Cor SP car is a placeholder.

We will adjust to the new order if the laws are followed
Whether it's baseball, capitalism, or anything for that matter, set the rules and let us play!

For now, relax and take things day by day. Forget trying to guess the next "pitch", read and react.

All we can do is our best, I'll let God worry about the rest.

Everything will be okay in the end. If it is not okay, it’s not the end. – John Lennon

Good morning Crew. 8.5 hours of sleep Friday/Saturday night. 4.25 hours Sat/Sunday. I know a nap will appear sometime today.

The grandson plays 2 soccer games today 2pm and 6pm at the home pitch maybe 3 miles away. However the exit off the highway is closed, the bridge over the state highway 151 is being replaced. The normally 7-8 minute trip with detouring the SIL says takes 20 minutes of hill country driving. They lost game 1 yesterday 3-4 with the grandson getting 2 goals. Game 2 was 2-2 and just a super stand on her head game by the other team’s goal keeper. She was unreal.

No walk this morning as I only walk 6 days a week.

My 2 buddies who started in March selling at 6 train shows in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois and Wisconsin are going to do the Titletown Train Show in Green Bay next weekend and quit for the Summer. They have decided though that they will only do 2 day shows next season. The one day shows have not been worth it. Both lost their wife’s over the last few years. They unknowingly moved into the same retirement community a few blocks from our house last Fall with no place for a layout. While the selling of their equipment and some of my weathered freight cars has been mixed they are having fun. After next weekend their next show will be in September.

They have had little luck selling on Facebook, better on EBay but the fees are ridiculous so they went the show route. They ended up each weekend though staying and rail fanning the area that ate into the profits but they told me it’s still been worth it. Both have grandson’s that are on my grandson’s soccer team, so I saw them yesterday. I was asked at the second game to do some locomotives medium weathered for them to try to sell. Then they asked if I had any weathered diesels to sell off and if I could do a couple each for them by Friday morning? I pulled 2 weathered CN diesels of mine out inventory last night and they will give me a couple WC units each today at the games. Wisconsin Central, CN, BNSF and BN are great sellers in Wisconsin. I told them I can get 1 each done for sure but bring over a few more and I will use them as fill in work this Summer.

Enjoy the day
