Certain model train categories than others,

I have saved searches emailed daily. One of them is 40' well cars. It comes back daily with mostly 40' boxcars from the Tyco/Bachmann era.
Another is Fastracks turnout building jigs. Lionel Fastracks turnouts, and woodworking jigs are almost always the suggestion.

I ended up turning most of them off since they usually return garbage I'm not looking for.
I've completely given up on their emailed searches, and have turned all of them off.

Good evening folks,

April fools day or not it was very depressing leaving my wife at the nursing home today. Going to be a very different life for both of us going forward but I was just used up after about 18 months of 4 and 5 hour nights. Going to take a long nap tomorrow.

Unfortunately there aren't any entry level models any more. If car companies gave you the car and only charged for the mandated safety, environmental, and economy equipment, a car still would probably cost close to fifteen grand.
The manufacturing cost of entry level versus loaded isn't that much different but the prices garnered are obviously way different. Bottom line is there is no incentive to build/sell low cost vehicles. I'm another that believes the increased costs will essentially all be passed on to consumers and that will be the new base level, least we slip into a REAL recession and the demand vanishes.

Considering that much of what is currently available on the auction site is estate stuff, and downsizing before moving stuff, It's not surprising. Products in demand are usually traded elsewhere. At least that's my guess. OTOH, Bob Chapman has been disposing his collection in small lots on that site, but he provides the links on other Modeler/collector sites. So there is good stuff out there if you have patience and it meets your needs.

Good evening everyone. Been working on my 1/8th scale stagecoach today. Have it to the prime and paint stage now.

Weather wise windy now suppose to have thunderstorms later tonight early morning. My Dad called and asked if I heard anything about possible tornados. Told him no then a few minutes ago got notifications that the thunderstorm coming in tonight with severe weather. We all know what that might bring.

So batten down the hatches and get some sleep while we can. The dog hates thunder so that’ll wake up everyone.

Have a great evening.

That stage coach is a fantastic job, I know it’s supposed to be painted but it’s nice enough to be varnished or oiled. Stage coaches have a special meaning to me. First is my sis ter use to drive buggies and sleighs and second is that Aurora NY is about 30 minutes from me and that is where Wells Fargo started

Good morning all. A warm, sunny day. The decorators are in. The house looks like a tip. Hopefully all will be finished by the weekend.
Flo, a large coffee and a chicken sandwich please.

Yesterday, for one of my birthday presents was a day trip to Yorkshire. I visited places I hadn't been to in many a year.

Youngest grandson is visiting after school.

Back later

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with weather.

Looks like we're getting some. I know, because the cat is antsy and won't leave me alone. Not even the dancing red dot of doom will get him to leave my side.

Fort Wayne is directly above the GMT designation in the black band - and about level with I-80 if you follow it from Illinois east, right before the OHIO state line.

Wife said the ER was packed and they spent four hours in the waiting area before she got placed in an exam room. MIL didn't get admitted and get a real room until about 2:45 am. Wife texted me shortly thereafter for a ride. I was in deep sleep in the recliner by then. But I had my apple watch on which will vibrate with a text, and had my phone's ringer on... neither woke me right then. But I climbed out of dregs of slumberland and responded 7 minutes later.

I rolled out of bed at about 6:55am. Total sleep time was about 4 hours? Maybe 5, between my early and late session.

Looks like we'll have another bout of weather this evening. So, we'll try to hit pizza hut, and drop wife off for visit with her mother at the hospital. Based on track records, it will be a 2 or 3 day stay while they get the fluids drained out of her.

Morning all,

Thunderstorms the norm early this morning. Nothing but a watch until about 1:30 this morning and then about every 20 to 30 minutes a new warning about severe storms as they moved across the county. Final one about 3:30ish. Had some hail about 3:00a but too dark to see what fell.

Currently cloudy and 53°.

I had a business where I built and restored horse drawn vehicles for about 10 years. My grandfather (mothers side) was a village smithy (blacksmith) and he taught my how to do forge work and we built a hitch wagon together (style like Budweiser wagon). Then I built a 1/12 th scale model of one for him. I drove my horses until the last one I put down about 4 years ago. He was 34 yrs old.

This is 'Lefty', she is about 6 YO. Kinda a rescue dog. Owner would leave her alone for a week or more at a time while taking his other dog with him. She did have plenty of food and water and she doesn't seem to be abused. Blue Healer cross with another type that I don't remember right now. So far, other than her bad manors, sweet little dog. Jumps on furniture, beds, and people - but that can be fixed pretty simple. Don't think I have heard her bark yet. And since she a 6, way past the chew everything stage. Gets along with our 2 dogs, and the 4 cats ... so far. Figured out where the 'doggie door' was almost immediately. She did not have one at the other place. Owner would let her in/out when he was there.

We will see how it goes.
