Long hair, beards, big shirt collars, bell bottom pants, and crazy colorful prints. The way fashion goes I bet they come back in my lifetime.

I was clean cut and kept my hair short. I wore jeans and T-shirts, same as now. I have added sweatpants.

I did have a short-lived long hair and mustache era I'd rather forget.

Tucker is shy, Sophie is "I'm Sophie damn it!" Both are lovable.

David- Beautiful scenery. Is the diesel being modeled as a military transport? Back in 1976 I was on a boat that pulled into Holy Loch (Dunoon) after completing a mission. Our boat looked like a toy next to the missile boats. A buddy and I took a train to Edinburgh for 2 days (had an excellent time). I've also been to Plymouth for a port visit where I discovered hard apple cider. That was a rough underway that was really bad because of the drinking. 😮 I have also been to London twice.

The diesel is a Class 45. They were named after UK Army Regiments. I have two and run them on Thames Clyde & Thames Forth services. In real life the locomotives were exchanged at Leeds. Hence one seen at Crown Point Yard.

I was at Holy Loch on holiday just after relaxation of Covid. Visited Plymouth Just after the Falklands War. Saw a few warships in for repair.

My wife, Dawn likes London. Not for me. I prefer the countryside.

Good Evening. 65° and cloudy. Today, was a sunny 75°. I spent time this afternoon raking leaves that the vendor didn't get to on Saturday, (5 - 55gal bags full), and cut up some brush. I have been depending on vendors for lawn service and fertilizer application for the last three years, and the condition of the lawn has deteriorated since then. Fortunately, I can do this now, as long as I pace myself and don't get crazy. So...

I have made some progress with the layout. Hope to keep this up the rest of the summer. Had a good Easter, grandchildren go home tomorrow morning. Then our routine returns to normal. I actually like my new phone, wife has now decided she needs to upgrade hers also.

Know these engines well. Just before we were about to enter 3rd rail territory in North White Plains we hit something damaging the 3rd rail shoe apparatus. The machinist in North White ties the dangling shoe to the engine latter. The shoe is normally insolated for the engine. I said and when we enter 3rd rail territory in a few yards is the 660 votls 1500 amps now transferred to the metal latter. He just looks at me. I said you'll have to come up with something better than that fix.

Good morning gang!

56° and sunny heading for a high of 80° today.

Sherril, I hope you can feel better about letting Charlie cross over. Be patient with yourself. Today marks 1 year since Bud left us. It gets easier, it just never goes away. Just make peace with it.
Yesterday something odd happened. Sharon looked in the living room and Bailey was doing a side to side dance like she does when she wants to play. The cat Desmond was sitting next to her. Both were laser focused on the far end of the couch. She watched this behavior for a minute then walked into the room at which point they stopped and resumed normal dog/cat behavior. Sharon didn’t see a thing. Where they were staring was Buds favorite end of the couch. Was he visiting?? I would like to think so.

Good morning from a warming Wisconsin. 61f degrees now 81 later and the open fire band is in effect. No uncontrolled fires allowed.

I spent just 3.5 hours at the bench yesterday. 2 to 5:30PM as I just wasn’t feeling it. It was too nice yesterday morning and I try not to work in the train room after dinner. Today I will wait till Terry goes for her walk and tag along. Personally I’d rather get up, stretch and then go. Not her she likes to walk around 11 which to me destroys the continuity of the day. But she does go down to the stables before 7AM.

The double stack train containers were supposed to be delivered yesterday per USPS but this morning tracking says they are at the Chicago distribution center. So more weathering on the yellow TBOX cars, the last 10 I have. Once these 10 are finished I will be just working on double stack well cars and spline car plus the loads. I plan to be done by time we head to Vegas for the golf trip and the too many shows we have tickets for. I do have everything already with the first clear coat. The fading should start Friday.

I shipped out a couple cars yesterday and the client said I had to use UPS not my normal USPS. Wow, almost a $8 higher cost to ship UPS. $19.25 versus $11.75 at the post office. It’s ok to me as I only charge exact shipping costs but it just seemed strange. I did not bother questioning the client as to why.

My 16x6x6 carton I purchased in lots of 50 last November cost $1.36 each. The local Container store I purchased that lot from quoted me $3.10 each yesterday and 10-14 day leadtime. I ordered online last night paying $2.65 each and they should be here in 2-3 days. The container store owner understood my concerns and looked at where the price break was to get me to $1.50 each. 250 cartons which is too many cartons for me.

enjoy the day

Good morning fellers. Rough start to my morning. Hopefully I can find a high gear today. No trains last night. My sacred sheet is still up as I haven't the heart to tear it down yet. Doesn't help that it's used for storage underneath. I never took off with the dough nut layout. I did cut the plywood. That's as far as I made it. I test fit some track arrangements on it. I found it'll be as cramped as my sacred sheet. Still might be more space conscious though. It's a duck under. So it'll save the whole walking around bit. I think I've griped about this enough. Anyone have any advice on installing plastic handrails? Any good paint sources out there that won't flake off if I look at the wrong way?
That's all I have for now. Hope everyone is having a good day.
