Good Morning All. Clear and 52°, it's going to be another nice day. Each day's forecast is just a little bit warmer than the day before. Still no rain in the ten day forecast.
Terrible day yesterday. I woke up with a pinched nerve in my neck and I was in agony all day until just after supper. Really put a damper on all outdoor activity that I had planned. I actually originally got it last Wednesday night but it was just a mild annoyance until yesterday morning. Today it seems to have mostly gone away.
Short and sweet post this morning, as we have a previously scheduled primary care doctor's appointment at 9:15, 50 miles away. We really need to think about a new doctor closer to home, but we have been using this one since 2005 and we like him. My wife has slowly been improving and we'll find out this morning what all of the test results from last Wednesday showed.
Despite the discomfort, I did make it out to the train shed yesterday. I didn't attempt to do anything that required concentration; I did straighten things up a bit out there. Seems like a never ending job. I ran some trains for a while without any incidents or noted repairs. I also cleaned another structure in the cleaning project. It was the body shop that I posted last week. I really won't get a lot of time out there again until tomorrow. Four of the last six days have had too many other things going on and today won't be any different
This first picture is the beginning of the overall section of layout that I am doing in this quarter's layout cleaning. I'm on the upper level.
This shot is just a random shot of the blob at the end of where I am headed. The end is the green structure in the center right before the industrial park.
This is part of the interim on the right of the above picture.
David - I like what you are doing with your daily pictures, a layout scene, a real thing scene and a landscape scene.
Tom O - I doubt that the soft drink situation is going to get any better, but good luck to you. In my seven decades I have seen inflation raise prices many times. Even though the inflation rate stabilizes or even comes down, most prices of consumer goods do not come down. Gasoline is an exception, but it will never reach the 33¢/gallon that I was paying in the 60's. Some grocery items recede but never get back to their original levels.
Living out here in the middle of nowhere has many advantages, but nearby operating sessions is not one of them. The closest are an hour away in Dallas, but I don't know any of those people well enough to participate.
Sherrel - Very sad to read about Charlie. I know how attached you were to him.
Everybody have a great day.
