Finally it happened! I sit on our front porch normally anytime after 10:30am as the south deck is covered in sunshine. Sitting here about 90 minutes ago and the normal procedure is seemingly any car going west bound on our street does not stop at the corner stop sign that intersects that north south road.

Our Somalian nice neighbors have been warned by complaints over the last few years that they drive our street too fast and rarely even slow down at the stop sign. The local police have asked them based on complaints from others, but not me. There are kids in the neighborhood but nothing has helped. Complaints here are public knowledge and I don’t need any aggravation. I hear a car come down the street and I know the whine of that transmission. Never slows down (like normal) and broadsides the police SUV with its lights on going north. No one is hurt at the moment. Of course 3 other squads show up plus the County Sheriff. They come up to me and ask if I saw it and say yes. Asked if I had any video and I said I will check the security footage but I’m sure I do. While we are talking a huge commotion happens out by the accident. One of investigating officers is laying on the ground being stood over by the driver that hit the squad car. She got’s her taser out and the guy is still standing but screaming. I couldn’t make out what he was screaming but that stopped when she triggered that laser. No guns drawn but I have now see 4 tasers in action. Boy did he scream and wiggle but the 4th laser hit finally shut him up. The officer with me asked will that be on camera too. I believe so. I have pictures and just pulled the video from the cloud and gave it to one of the officers. The police asked me to wait 72 hours to post any pictures.

That is freakin awesome! You got to watch a real live episode of "Cops" in action.

I worked on the Minuteman II program in the 80s at Whiteman AFB. Shortly after I left the Air Force it was announced that the 351st Strategic Missile Wing would be deactivated and all of the launch facilities would be imploded under the START II nuclear agreement.

Shortly after that it was announced that the B-2 would now become the tenant unit for the base under the 351st Bomb Wing. It was the first time in 50 years that aircraft had been assigned to Whiteman AFB since the B-47 left.

One of the commanders of the 351st Bomb Wing was the grandson of the B-29 pilot that flew the Enola Gay over Japan. Col. Tibbs.

The entire base was modernized and refurbished. I think the only main buildings that were not razed and replaced was the Commissary and the BX. Both of those buildings were completed in the late 70s. All dormitories, maintenance and support buildings, headquarters, etc., were all torn down and replaced, along with new hangars and aircraft support buildings and shops.

I attended an Open House / Airshow there in 2000 and I hardly recognized the base. Even the base housing quarters were all new and the street I lived on back then didn't exist anymore. I saw a B-2 up close and personal. It's not as big as you would imagine from photos.
And the 509th is still winning the "non-war"!

Good evening all. A large whisky please, Flo.
I am keeping out of the way of the 'Girls Evening'. Listening to relaxing music.

Good evening from the front porch where the granddaughter and I are saying hi to all the walkers and doggies! It has been an interesting afternoon. It’s almost 8:30 now and our ethnically diverse neighborhood is in an uproar. The streets into the subdivision are still blocked and you need to show ID I was told to get in. 2 entrance or exits is all we have. The local PD walked the neighborhood telling everyone that a “police action” is ongoing. Please stay in your homes. I don’t think anyone including me listened and the walking the neighborhood sure picked up. Seems like the guy they arrested (per rumor)for at least assaulting an officer doesn’t have papers and no drivers license. Some “offical” group looking like a Swat team entered peacefully 2 homes across the street from where he lives. Lots of rumors. But strangely enough no media of any kind…

I laughed when the forum suggested earlier that I back up my video of the accident. When 2 officers came to the door they asked for another copy and I told them the one they had was enough. I then backed my cloud up to a stick and also stashed a copies 2 other places. I also deleted the video of the accident and the assault/arrest. Later at 7pm another officer asked for any video that may have been recorded since the accident. I said no and when they persisted I suggested a warrant. Later the officer returned with his supervisor and again I said no. The supervisor then asked if I could just play the video for them on the front porch. I said yes and there really wasn’t anything on it ( IMO) worth looking at. I backed that video up and sent them off. Then I deleted it. I have had a nice relationship with the local PD along with when we lived out in the Town, the County Sheriff. I’m not a conspiracy person but today seems kind of fishy.

When I was a kid during the 1962 Cuban missile crisis I saw the Chicago PD and MP’s storm a neighborhood house because there was a AWOL sailor staying at his parents. Lots of gas grenades that day. I was 10 then and 72 now and I remember that vividly. When I was 15 (August 1968) I went down with a group of interested guys and gals to Grant Park in Chicago. We were there to watch, not participate. Big mistake, I got hit from behind with a billy club by Chicago PD. That was the riots at the Democratic Convention where Humbert H Humprhey was the nominee to replace President L. Johnson. As my punishment dad made me go with him in late September to a HHH parade and rally. Dad was a Dailey Democrat and if the Mayor said do something to his constituents, they did it. Those before today are my only 2 armed police actions I have seen and that’s enough for me.

We had great beef tenderloin for dinner. The wife handled the grilling, the granddaughter took care of the steak fries in the airfryer along with leftover corn and broccoli in the microwave. I handled staying out of the way until cleanup when I took care of that.

Tom, this comes to mind.

Just got back from the folks. Got the light installed, so they're happy. Got a really good dinner out of it, too, so certainly not complaining!

I thought my day was exciting when there were a few tiny brush fires right near my house (and that's not sarcasm -- I think the biggest of the three was probably fifty square feet; they knocked them down fast, thankfully). Then I come here and read about @TLOC's day... 'nuff said.

No train stuff, as suspected.

Am going to have to surf the 'net (now that it's back -- it returned right before I left for the folks' place) for info about the next Spaceballs. Though I did always think it would be called Spaceballs 3: The Search for Spaceballs 2... Thanks for the heads up, @chadbag! :)

After I read your first post regarding the accident, I was going to ask if the Somalian man had papers. You answered in your second post regarding the incident. Nice people or not, if he was blatantly disregarding the speed limit and stop signs on neighborhood streets, he was putting you and all of your neighbors at risk. That alone deserves a night in jail, especially after hitting a police cruiser with it's lights flashing.. Assaulting a police officer deserves deportation. It may seem cruel to his family, but we don't need these kinds of folks on our streets. Does Wisconsin politics allow for a quick release? If I remember, there was some pretty radical stuff happening in your state in the late 60's and early 70's.
It will be interesting to know why other homes were entered by the SWAT team though. it's possible that they were just asking for information that those homeowners might have had, Or worse yet, is it possible that human trafficking was involved?
Interesting afternoon for you, reminds me of the two-day standoff that our local sheriffs department had with our "crazy" neighbor back in 2013 when he fired 45 rounds of semi-automatic fire into another neighbor's RV. While I didn't have to show ID to get on our road, I was stopped and questioned regarding the suspect, later convicted.
I'd expound some more, but it's well past my bedtime. Good Night.

I don't care where people come from or even how they got here. We are all God's children. I do care when they put other good hard working people's lives in danger. These are the people who should face deportation hearings. Once it is proven in court, I don't care where they send them.

We shouldn't feel guilty about the perpetrator's family. They should take care of their own family, like we do.

Everyone should respect our laws and constitution, including due process, or face the consequences.
