@troyphoto Ross at Fauxhammer does really cool reviews. i like hes video style. your printer looks also nice. i did sell my creality some months ago and did upgrade to a Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra the normal one. and only some months later they released the new one with the vat heater built in -.-

but i still like the s4u, great printer.

happy weekend you all!

Good morning,
62 and sunny, high of 81 forecast--

Sky was lit up to the southeast, someone down there had a heck of a storm!

Our smoke detectors went off for a minute or so, they are hard wired, startling is an understatement--

Had something to do with the lightening

The phone was acting goofy. Restarting seems to have helped.

More later, Dave LASM

I know the general perception is that it rains continuously in Oregon. November - April it's pretty damp. Right now we are in a severe drought. April rain was only about 1.01", May rain was 1.61", and we finally may get about an 1" in the next 24hours.

Everything is dry and brown. Unfortunately I think it's going to be a real bad fire season. We've had a half dozen already, with the largest being in the eastern, high desert, part of the state.

The fires include the Rowena Fire (3,700 acres in The Dalles), the Ferry Fire (10,500 acres southeast of Wasco) and Alder Spring Fire (3,442 acres northeast of Redmond). The Rowena Fire was human-caused and the cause for the other two remain under investigation.

The Upper Applegate Fire roared to life, burning 350 acres, and brought evacuations to southwest Oregon on June 18.

Good Morning All. First day of summer here in the US, summer solstice officially at 9:42 pm CDT. Clear and a warm 77°, same old forecast, mostly sunny, 95° and no rain. It will be that way until October with slightly warmer temperatures in the next two months.

Yesterday didn't go as planned, but not in a bad way. Grocery trek took longer than planned because I ran into two especially talkative ladies separately. One is the wife of the now retired LHS owner who I knew really well. The other is just an acquaintance.
The search for a good hose for the pool filter didn't pan out as all that I found was just another crappy one like I already had. But that's not going to be an issue because plan "B" is to splice a piece of PVC pipe into the collapsing section of the current hose. Rest of the journey went as planned. Then got home and found that I had to postpone the canning of Green Beans until today, because my wife decided to make the Salsa yesterday and tied up the kitchen! I mowed instead with the tractor.
So today I have two main goals, assemble the new battery powered push mower and test it out; and do the Green Bean canning. There's really not much assembly required on the mower. Get it out of the box (and car first), extend the handle and put together the grass catcher. No need to wait for the battery to charge since I have the old one charged already. Additionally today, there is another Tomato variety beginning to ripen which will get some attention. I have 8 varieties planted with varying maturity times so I am not overwhelmed at once. I have a single plant of a 9th variety, a purple Tomato which will be ready soon. I have 6 plants of each variety except for my main bearer called Early Girl, of which I have 18 planted. Early Girl and that Fourth of July variety will be processed and canned this weekend.

Just a short visit to the train shed yesterday. I started on another small project; keeping this one under wraps until I am further along just to keep everyone in suspense. It involves Preiser.

Terry - I take fish oil, but not for cholesterol. Wasn't aware it worked on that. But it works real well for triglycerides and general overall health.
Dave - I agree with you that a bit of hard physical activity every day actually feels good.
Mike - I seem to have an extra caulking gun as well. But it is the cheapest item that I have ever bought at Home Depot!
David - Enjoy the Scotland trip and be safe.

Everyone have a good and safe Friday.

I just got out of a company meeting, we had another round of layoffs. My name was not on the list, hope it will continue to not be on that list. We all again have increased responsibilities and duties that are now included in our job descriptions. But those of us remaining still have jobs...

I had the Saturn 4 with the green flip up lid. Loved that part of it. I've used elego since the Saturn 2 came out....

But sold it off after a month. I HATED the build plate with pressure sensing spring loaded thingies. I wasted so much resin trying to clean it and get it to drip back in the vat... that just made a mess. So I wasted more resin rinsing it in IPA after each build.

And the front screen got SMALLER. My old eyes (I'm almost 61) couldn't handle that interface screen.

So I went with Anycubic for the standard build plate and larger interface (front) screen. It has Wifi, so I shouldn't have to use the front screen much, but when I do I won't have to have my face three inches from it, squinting, trying to read the tiny font like Elegoo thought I needed to.

Gonna be a little warmer and a little soupier today. Going to 93°F today. The real heat starts tomorrow through Tuesday with expected heat indices of 105°F

I guess I'll finally turn the A/C on tomorrow, possibly later this afternoon depending upon the dewpoint. Yesterday was still quite nice, but Spring has run its course for this year and Summer is coming in like a blast furnace.

I guess today I'm going to replace my front storm door screen. Lisl von Schlaf has ruined a couple of these, but since she's gone now I think this will be last one I have to replace.

That's good news.

As an attendee of a few of those meetings I know how nerve racking they can be! Then the aftermath,
Do more with less, and no raise.

Thankfully in 30+ years I have never had my number called.

Good morning folks, 80 here already, gonna get to 93 they say and already getting humid. Helping the Missus today with house cleaning, Nephew and his son coming in for the weekend, and then we are taking a break and going to Branson MO Sunday for a few days to celebrate our anniversary. 41 years on the 23rd. God truly blessed me with a marvelous Lady. Northbrit take care of yourself, your heart is nothing to mess arouns with.
Started quite a fun thread over at sassnet over how folks liked their grits. How do you guys like yours?

I hate it when the doctors say that. I go get another opinion.
No need. I have lived with a 'missing beat' heartbeat all my life. Just recently it began to miss more often hence the recent visit to hospital.
Doctors saying 'Live with it' is much better than them telling me I have 'A week to live'. My grandmother was told that when I was born.
It's a long week.🤣

Now to pack so we can go to Scotland.

Scottish?
If that’s the case, you’re just being the stereotypical Scot, being thrifty and saving heartbeats.

The Summer Solstice has arrived!

All is well here in southeast Baltimore.

I haven't posted much recently. After several years of having MLB.TV I finally learned I can watch replays of the Orioles and Nationals games. I thought all games in my market (Baltimore/Washington) were blacked out. Nope... ninety minutes or so after the post-game show I can watch the complete replay. The archive has all the games going back to 2023!

Guess what I've been doing? I'll give you a hint ⚾

Good afternoon to all................

Just another day in paradise. I don't know what I will do today until the mood hits me. Maybe time in the train room, maybe not. Need to make a trip into town to the grocery store but not really in the mood for that but I'll be out of a few things if I don't go.

An egg, ham and cheese sandwich sounds good for a late lunch. Thats next on my things to do list after this post..

One of my outdoor cats is MIA.......been gone for 3 days. I checked the nearby hiway and found no flat cats ( we used to call them "sail cats" ). Not unusual for him to be gone a day or two but not this long. Oh well, they're cats. They come and go around this part of the country.

Everyone have a great weekend...........John

We had a couple cats missing for a week, we loved our cats and were very glad when they returned.

One cat went missing for a year came back and visited for a day, then disappeared again for good.

We lived on a country farm so expected stuff like that.

Hope yours comes back well
