The Quartering Fixture
That's awesome! I 3d printed something that I thought of after wracking my brain for hours. Took many attempts to get the size for the wheel and the crank pin correct, but put the wheel set in as a set with the pins in the holes and make the squares flat against the table.

I made this for an Accurascale P class loco. It kinda worked but that model's side rods were so fine and had no slop in the connecting holes that if you were not 99.9999999999% accurate, it wasn't going to work.

Does anyone use that free video editing software Clipchamp?

There was an older free software that was leagues better, with this I could not edit the "fade" duration. o_Oo_Oo_Oo_O:mad:

For the life of me I could not edit the fade length, even after watching several tutorials, my screen just does not mirror what they show. They must be featuring the version that requires the subscription

Does not make or brake the video, but it would make things look better

The fade looked fine to me. I've seen some that were way too long.

Good morning. It's partly clear and 74.

Over the years, various doctors have prescribed statins for me for different things. I don't like statins, and have found alternatives to them. The current prescription is for rosuvastatin for cholesterol. The doctor didn't like that I was taking fish oil instead of a drug, and prescribed the statin. I stopped taking it after a couple of months, and have gone back to fish oil. My cholesterol is on the high end of normal, and I can't see the benefit of spending more money to be on another medication, one that has potential bad side effects, to do what a natural supplement does.

8K printer?
Well, it's a "14K"

But, as Ross over in the UK whinges about in a 20 minute video, K measurement for printers is misleading. Worth watching if you're a tech geek and like numbers, and like a good whinge. But skip to about min 5:00 to avoid his background and youtube metrics.

The printer has a 10inch screen, so the 14K is a good measurement to show it's better than the same screen width but a lower K number.

Here's the tech specs, which I'll ignore most of. The other problem that I need to swap out fast is the ACF film on the resin vat. It's the cloudy film that releases quickly - but, according to Ross at Fauxhammer on Youtube, it causes bloat in the prints. Since I'm printing small, teeny tiny gaming and railroad pieces, I'll take quality over speed.

They key metric is this has a bigger build volume than the Mars 4 Ultra I've just sold off. The mars 4 is a 7 inch diagonal build-plate, and the Mono-7 is a 10inch build plate. So I can print more little dudes at once.

Ross has a vid on the printer, if you want to see a full breakdown on it.

Exactly what Terry and I were saying here about a certain list, a few days ago. Several of the participants replying mentioned the other list(s) by name. We are fortunate here that they haven't found us....yet. Someone over "there" must have struck a nerve.

Have a great day.

Is this a measurement thing? haha

Awesome!! You'll have much more fidelity in your prints. Can't wait to see.

Good morning all. A warm, sunny day.
Arrived home yesterday after a week in hospital. Heartbeat is irregular. After tests I was told (again) to just live with it.

Taking Dawn to Scotland for a week or so whilst we can.

I hate it when the doctors say that. I go get another opinion.

And Sir, I missed your inputs.

I use cholesteroff. Not sure what that does, but my panels have all come back good. I used to take 2 per day, but am now at 1 per day.

Aerobics is what increases HDLs. Back in the day when I used to bike 8 miles to work, run 4 miles at lunch, lift weights for 2 hours after work and ride the 8 miles back to the house, 5 days a week, and then do a 70 mile bike ride during the weekend, my HDLs outnumbered my LDLs by 2 to 1. My triglycerides were off the roof since I ate whatever I wanted and that included a lot of eggs and mayo.

Hey, boomers are always right. I know I am haha!

Morning all,

75° and clear, high of 96° later.

Waiting on the call to go in. Hopefully the equipment is in. According to FedEx, it was tagged by Dell as security equipment that had to be delivered on site, only finding that out after I drove the 15 miles one way to get it at the main terminal in Wichita. All because a driver decided he really didn't want to work yesterday.

Oh well, I do get overtime.

Good morning all!

Happy Friday!

Currently 68F heading up to a high of 83F. Skies this morning are very cloudy and looking at the radar we have some
rain heading our way. Very humid out there as well.

Yesterdays yearly wellness and blood draw went well. No real changes from last year. Sounds like I'm good for another year.

Have some household chores to do around the house this morning. I was hoping to mow and have it done before the weekend,
but it may not happen. Maybe can fit it in this afternoon if it dries out.

Not much else going on.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good morning from Wisconsin as we await the storms promised for wake up this morning. 68f degrees now heading to mid 80’s but the rain is late. There will be no grass cutting today and with heat indices supposed to be 100+ the next 3 days the grass will wait. If I didn’t have neighbors I would have cut at 6am as the lawns were dry with no dew as I walked around.

Back to some inventorying this morning and I have a batch of containers I should weather up for myself. Just get them out of the way and if someone wants HO scale 40’or 45’ intermodal containers let me know! I had quite a few commissions finished before we left in May. I tried to ship the last of the June deliveries yesterday but the PO was closed when I got there. Because of Juneteenth a Texas celebration gone federal! So sometime today.

I received a text yesterday from an old neighbor. He retired a couple years ago and moved. He was an accident recreation specialist for the State Police here in Wisconsin but retired at 45 and went into being an expert witness and investigator for 20 years before retiring again. I painted many accident recreations for him his last few years. He also was an expert model builder but hated to paint or weather. It worked well for both of us. He is building a 1/48th scale flour mill complex for a company that had an accident he testified for he said about 10 years ago. They wanted a gift for their retiring CEO and thought a model of one of their mills would be a neat parting gift. He said he is about 1/2 way through the project but needs some painting started. He still hates to paint or weather. He is now in Kenosha which is about 15 miles south of Racine where Terry’s best friend lives. So next week Terry can visit while I go check out this project. It’s not due until February but it is very involved, so we shall see…

Enjoy the day
