Good afternoon all,

78 and the sky is rumbling, however I can see blue between the clouds.

Been obsessing over two things, the manual turntable (modeled after the NP prototype) and the Varney 4-6-0.

I spent several hours on the turntable this morning, got it fit, finished, and tested- passed! Will post photos after the glue dries,

Also took the Varney apart no less than 4 times. The locomotive would now meet Swiss watch specifications in tolerances

The drive wheels were off a smidgen in the quartering and spacing. The front truck was actually picking up current from the wrong track, hard to believe it ran at all. A couple of the side rods were attached with screws that actually belonged elsewhere, were about 1/32 too long.

It both started raining, poured, and stopped in the time it took to write this post.

Got all that fixed, and removed some of the tiny moving details associated with the drivers, those were somewhat worn and would sometimes bind. Hard to notice the missing parts without someone pointing them out.

Thanks to Willie and the other gardeners, Wife added bonemeal to the buckets today. She reminds everyone that the plants are as big as they'll get, since there are the mini zucchini that grow zucchini balls instead of the long ones.

And for the geeks out there, I can't type Zucchini whithout imaging the Jawas squealing Utini...

Made it back from the hos[ital. My pacemaker Doc says all is good, see ya in about 12 years for a battery replacement!!

The skies opened up as soon as we left the hospital and we had hard, almost biblical proportion rain to drive through on the way back. Thankfully I had Rain-Xed the car a few weeks back when the blades were replaced. Even though the puddles were huge and frequent, her car was a sure footed as it could be. Gotta love AWD at times! By the time we got near to home the rain let up and the skies cleared. So we stopped by my work and visited, then the Optometrist office (where I still don't like my glasses), the the Lord's chicken on the way home. PC physician visit tomorrow, then that is it for a week.

Nap time

I had leg issues on everything, but Rosuvastatin. If you haven't had a FULL lipid panel done you may want to. It's the "fractional lipoprotein" levels that matter.....LDL size, LDL particle count, etc. That's the stuff that does the artery clogging. You can have a great cholesterol number, but the particle size and count could be off the charts.
Rosuvastatin is what I take before bed. Now that y'all are mentioning side effects, perhaps the foot and leg issues I'm experiencing are attributable to the Statin, rather than the spine. My "Full Lipid Panel" always looks good, so why is my heart not? More questions, than answers. I've been taking meds and being monitored since I was about 40 and the Railroad Doctor insisted I see my PCP for the good of the company!

Almost all the pre op clearances and tests are now scheduled. All I need, is to schedule the spinal surgery class, to get my bottle of antibiotic sanitizer to shower with, and other factoids of hopefully useful information.
Tomorrow is a scheduled visit to my Pulmonary Specialist, Friday, a clearance visit with my Cardiologist, Next Tuesday, I should be going to class, then on the 30th The full enchilada of lab work , including blood, urine, ekg , chest x-ray and CT Scan of the Cervical Spine. That will fill out June.

Well it hit 91 here today but no rain! Picked up the Mauser and put a Leupold scope on top of it. Church tonight with a really good message.

I have compression in my L3 & L4. Ain't nothing to do with the statins. Life style and genetics ;)

Tell them to throw in prostate test while they're at it. Just one more vial of blood.
