Good afternoon all. Afternoon Tea please, Flo. Double up on the scones and jam, I am hungry.
Some days I eat very little, other days I could eat a racehorse then run after the jockey.

I made crispy bacon sandwiches for lunch. (English bacon). I should have made more.

I bought a book from the bookshop, 'The Ocean Railway' by Stephen Fox. Over 400 pages on steamships 1820 to 1910 (or so). That should keep me quiet for a while. :)

Palma to Soller wooden train arriving Soller

I found a soller tram file and started scaling it down to run on a Kato 11-109 chassis. It'll be a challenge to print it due to the thin horizontals.

Looks like there are at least two different style trams on that line. I hope someone makes that one as I like that style body better.

Willie and all of you in North Texas - It looks like you're unfortunately in for some really nasty storms today. Stay safe.
We're under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9:00 pm tonight, it's 7:00 right now. Radar indicates storms approaching, but right now but there doesn't appear to be anything severe. My county is on the extreme north edge of the watch, but anything is possible during these storm conditions. My wife reports that the local Facebook page is alive with folks predicting 80-100 mph straight line winds, but the NWS is only predicting 30 mph. Neither one is believable in my opinion, so we'll see. Conditions are the same as the day that the tornado struck me about a year ago.

Just checked in for our return flight tomorrow night. They seem to let you check in more than 24 hours in advance since it was a little 9am when they sent me the email to check in and our flight leaves tomorrow evening at 6:20am. The layover in Korea is a little short but hopefully we are not late and we should make it. Only 50 minutes but they have a transfer hallway to quickly move between terminals though they make you redo a security scan on transfers.

Kansai Airport (Osaka) to Seoul Incheon to Las Vegas to SLC. Luckily we're avoiding LAX and SFO.

Today is grocery shopping to fill the space in the suitcases. If I were in charge we'd buy too much groceries and not have started to pack until tomorrow. But the wife and daughter and sister in laws have already packed most everything and we know how much space we have.

Talking to the son right now on FB messenger video. Next week we'll be back to our Sunday night talk with him (Monday morning in Japan). He is being transferred to a place called Kitami on the east side of Hokkaido.

Have a safe flight back to the States,

Thanks for all the cool photos and updates.

We're safe. Lots of thunder starting around 9:15, after the severe thunderstorm watch expired, got some heavy rain for a short period of time. Storm has intensified and is moving SE towards Dallas and Ft Worth. TV guy is reporting 55-70 mph winds, but the maximum here was only around 30 mph. Looking at the rain gauge 30' from the back porch in the dim light, shows a little less than 1", probably 0.9". Power never went off despite all of our power lines being up on poles. Looks like there might be some lingering light showers following the system. Temperature here went from 84° at 9:15 to 69° by 10:00.
Gotta go now since it's past my bedtime.😵

Random things.

We’re at some mall in a Kobe area and the women folk are in another dollar store type place that’s a competitor to Daiso called CanDo. All the same sorts of stuff but different versions. They weren’t going to buy stuff but then walking around they’ve loaded up their baskets. I’m buying one thing. A small USB-C to Lightning adapter dongle. Female USB-C on one side and then normal male
Lighting. For 100 yen it looked useful.

I also saw these planes on the toys. If I don’t have 10 years worth of chores on the house and train room and also work skill related stuff up the ying yang I’d buy a couple to try and convert into small 2 channel RC planes using the super micro servers.

I also saw this. Looked useful I guess for those with this problem.

As we walked in I saw this car in the parking garage. It’s one of those square Japanese cars. Toyota Tank.

I also saw a medium size cross over suv. Toyota Harrier. Lots of interesting car names.

Well, howdy there internet Peeps and those with thunder and lightning!

It's Troy again. Looks like the late sleep ins were short lived. Back to waking at 4am-ish.

Had a perplexing problem that last few nights. I knew something was off when I closed up the basement and told the cat it was bed time.

Since we had Orkin out, my TV room in the basement was extra dark... Then I realized in the moving of things to give the Orkin guy access to baseboards I disconnected the color-changing LED strip light illuminating my old camera collection.

Yeah, my connector for the LED strip is dangling. That's on my "someday" list to mount it better.

Had fun playing wargames yesterday. And found a gent willing to sell off his models. We'll meet up next Sunday. Father's day is always a big day at the game store. Dad's bring the kids and mom's get a quiet day at home.

The only reason I'm interested in his force is that it was my first choice for a force until I saw the orcs on dinos. We've got another player with Orcs on Dinos, so I want to keep variety in our play group. This guy had the army, but never got it going. So, I'll see what he has, and make an offer.

in other news, I painted gaming trees. These are supposed to be frondy desert themed trees for an alien world. I sprayed the tops green before going to the game store.

Last evening I put some gaming podcasts on while I drybrushed the trunks and bases with a desert tan. I'm debating on texturing the bases with very small rocks and some flock suitable for the desert. But, these will get a lot of use going to and from the game store in totes and such. So they may just live with drybrushing.

Action photos from the games:

The force above is loosely based on an Arabian Nights motif with strong Indian sub-continent vibes.

And my archangel with some heavy damage. That's 15 points (the zero is a 10) - she's only got three points left. The good news is another unit slammed the enemy unit that hurt her.

We postponed our pizza to tonight. Weather is supposed to be rainy, and I didn't have any Mozz in the freezer like I thought. So we went to 5 guys for burgers.

While we were there we noticed A LOT of parties hanging out waiting for one of the two other restaurants in the strip mall. One is a Japanese steak place. EVERY girl of High School Age was wearing a skimpy little white dress, or white skirt and top.

We couldn't figure out if it was a church confirmation class, or graduates from a local school? Whatever it was, the white outfits were way too popular to be coincidence.
