Upon further review, yep, it looks like the severe weather will slide by to the north of me. It's moving in a northeasterly direction. That will make the drive this morning just a bit more tolerable.

I think it’s a Sony thing and I’m trying to remember what I had to do with my Sony alpha 6300. It didn’t connect to a hot spot or anything but I eventually got it connected to the phone IIRC. This was several years ago and I’m stretching my brain.

They have some custom protocol or something they run.

Sounds like a real PITA to me. First time I pushed the button on my Nikon it found the router and connected immediately and then downloaded all new photos to a folder it created itself.

I uploaded this 2-minute video of my 3-mile 1 hour morning rail trail walk with Murphy to my Facebook page and it played perfectly. I just uploaded the same video to YouTube page and it's fuzzy. Anyone here know why that is? Swal

When I played directly from YouTube, it loaded at 360 resolution. If you change the resolution manually to 720 or 1080 it looks fine. I don't know why it loads at 360.

It looks more like he's taking you for a walk. 😂

Well howdy there internet peeps and those with resolution(s)

It's troy again

I managed 2600 words worded this morning. Only one character talked about dropping a piano on someone.

Been up since 4 am. I'm ready for a nap. Might go shopping in a bit. Or replace a part on my camp stove and keep burning off that old gasoline.

Nice Dog! But he looks like he is towing you judging by how straight the leash is. My border collie is that way and it can be tiring. The other dog walks alongside me. It's a much easier walk at the same speed. When I get that figured out, I'll let ya know!

Questions for you motor heads!

Storing a generator.

I've got my new in box inverter generator. They're mostly easy to start. Add oil in the correct spot. Add fuel (mine is dual fuel, LP and Gasoline). Move the choke lever, and give it a couple of pulls.

I left my old one New in Box condition, never adding oil or fuel, and hoped it would start right off when I sold it off. However, I should probably get this one running, and teach the wife how to do it as well.

So... The ATF trick. Anyone use it? Good idea for long term storage? Bad idea?

What I'm referencing...

PS: That's not me in the vid
I believe we used to call that engine fogging. It was an old trick to clean carbon and other gunk out of engine's.

Dump ATF down the carb till it died let sit for a while and start up and run.

I have never heard of it being used for long term storage but it makes sense. The other option would be to put a small amount of gas
in the generator and put it on your calendar to run it for a half hour or so every month. Plug something into to put it under a load. It would
always have fresh gas and be ready when needed.

kbkchooch Thee's lots of rail trails in the area here. I'll see if I can't slow him down on our next walk. The rail trail we were walking on ends up crossing the Hudson River 20 miles from here on the 210-foot-high Poughkeepsie NY bridge. Swal

I just remembered that sometimes BT needs an app, so I downloaded the Sony imaging app and tried that. The camera sensed the phone, looked like it was going to work and then it failed. Camera back in the box and app deleted from the phone.
This is the alpha 6400 or something you mentioned previously?

What app? Sony Imaging Edge Mobile?

That’s the app that replaced the app I had used a few years ago.

Something tells me the camera creates its own WiFi and the app connects to it? That’s from memory and could be wrong.

I see the forum is moving like my Grandmother used to once again. You'd think they'd use some of the ad revenue they get from shoving ads in our face every chance they get and spend some on infrastructure.

My barber finally showed up. A haircut makes you feel like a new man.

Her wrist did not look good. She has surgery scheduled for 13MAY. I hope they can fix her up. She is by appointment only until the middle of June.

Interesting visit to my primary care physician this morning. While nothing changed for me, while I was waiting to get my blood drawn, I overheard him asking the NP if 911 had been called. Then he started moving chairs in the back "blood line" back away from the pathway in. I had my blood drawn and as I was leaving , a fire truck pulled in blocking my exit. They moved and I was able to get out just as an ambulance came in. The doctors and nurses all seemed to be familiar with the drill, as if they had practiced before. Only this time it was for real; although I don't know the reason why or the patients condition. It was encouraging to see the staff acting in unison while others calmly carried on with other patients

I spent most of yesterday doing a little woodworking with a 14"electric chainsaw. I stopped by our lake trailer last week and found this.

I called a tree cutter to remove the tree, but he still has not called me to cut the tree in too pieces.
The power is still on and you can see the service entrance cable in the right of the picture.
I laid out 70 feet of extension cords and we to work by myself on Monday morning. After 5 hours, I had the top branch cut and half of the bottom branch. But I was producing sawdust instead of chips.
I headed home to sharpen the chain and get a nap.
My SIL volunteered to help after work so i let him!!! It took another hour and a half to cut off enough log to get my pickup down the drive way.
We dragged the logs pieces off the driveway, gathered our equipment and I made it home shortly after 8 pm.
Today, I called the power company to cut the rest of the log off the service entrance cable. I didn't want to risk tearing down the cable with my lumberjack skills or lack thereof!
Enough woodworking for me!

About half of my "Thumbs Up" did not register.

Another spring day here. We're under a tornado watch until 9:00 pm tonight. There might be tornadoes SW of Ft Worth right now. The severe thunderstorms headed our way veered south and are hitting the Dallas/Ft Worth area pretty heavily right now. The TV weather guys are telling those going to the Dallas Stars hockey playoff game tonight to stay home! It's probably due to weather-related traffic rather than the weather itself. John may have dodged a bullet with just light rain. I got a trace in my rain gauge, but less than 0.1", not enough to wash the cars!

Yes it is. And no info anywhere on it. And no response from Sony. Not sure what direction I want to go in now. I bought the dang adapter for the lense. Maybe I should just get rid of it all.

Yup, A6400. And the app was the Sony imaging edge mobile. Set the camera to send to phone, it puts up a QR code, scan it with the IEM app and it should work AFAIK. The camera did sense it and both looked like they were doing something. And then, nothing.
