Kuso:

Looks like your router is no longer getting firmware updates. So it may be too old for newer camera tech?

One of these days I should make the trip down to Robert's camera in Indy, and see if all my old gear will get me any trade in toward a new sony with a decent zoom lens.

I use my iPhone camera for so much daily shooting, that I'm not sure what having all of the old Rebel kit (I have four strobes for Canon!) and a decade old Fuji t1??? body with upgraded zoom lens.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those participating in capitalist endeavors, or sticking it to THE MAN! today.

It's Troy again.

I bit the bullet and got an editing date for the book in progress. I'm 1400 words into chapter 2 and moving nicely along. The fun part is trying to learn how to work with my AI buddy Claude. he's a great memory bank, and typo finder. This morning I wanted to invent a magical gas to replace Helium since the world's supply is dwindling - and now locked behind the fiasco in the Strait.

I asked Claude to come up with some names for a magical gas derived from the magical rock of the fae ley lines.

It came up with several sugfestions, including "Faelium"

PERFECT!

And, it's odor is definitely sulfuric. So the inflation of the 20 foot long blimp shaped like a giant corgi lends itself to all sorts of fart jokes.

Yeah, my router is currently at 1.0.2.62. I just downloaded the 1.0.4.96 and may upload it. I hate updating these things as they end up messing up my settings or other nonsense. I save the settings, but some devices will not allow me to import it back in if the change is too great.

Thanks for the link!

Good morning all!

A blustery dreary morning out there. Currently 48F but with the gale winds it feels more like 31F. They say we should see the
sun later this afternoon. High is supposed to hit 64F.

No severe weather here yesterday. We had 3 rounds of thunderstorms roll thru the area throughout the day. It all seemed to be
north and south of us thankfully.

Just usual stuff on the agenda for today

Have a safe day everyone!

Good morning. 56°F calm degrees this morning. Hope it's calm where you are. Epected high of 71°F today and cooler for the next three to five days. No 80s in sight for at least the next ten days.

My barber finally text me and told me she is only taking appointments now. She is supposed to be there at 1000 and meet me for a haircut. I don't think she is going to be open much longer.

The folks in Carlyle, Trenton, and Germantown had moderate damage from the two tornadoes that blew through last night. Mostly trees down and some roofs missing and other lighter damage. Half a machine shed was removed and sent who knows where in Trenton.

I slept straight though from 2230 to 0600 this morning. First time in months I have slept completely through the night without waking up (or at least remembering it). No Diesel this morning, no barking dogs, no garbage truck, etc. Wow.

Have a great Tuesday folks. Servus!

Questions for you motor heads!

Storing a generator.

I've got my new in box inverter generator. They're mostly easy to start. Add oil in the correct spot. Add fuel (mine is dual fuel, LP and Gasoline). Move the choke lever, and give it a couple of pulls.

I left my old one New in Box condition, never adding oil or fuel, and hoped it would start right off when I sold it off. However, I should probably get this one running, and teach the wife how to do it as well.

So... The ATF trick. Anyone use it? Good idea for long term storage? Bad idea?

What I'm referencing...

PS: That's not me in the vid

Have you checked for firmware updates for the camera?

Good morning. It’s 48f degrees now and 64 later. No rain is guessed at for the next few days but we will continue in the low 60’s and high 50’s till Monday next week when we should see 70’s.

We are going to the movies at 2 this afternoon. Going to see Michael.

I will be working some more on the Blow Tank for my friends paper mill. See the thread “let’s build a paper mill complex for a friend” for yesterday’s pictures. It’s a slow build but it’s advancing…

The plan for my layout was to start the disassembly the 1st week in May. But, there are a few layouts that are doing upgrades for the River Rail invite the end of June. I’ve been part of a crew on one where it was torn down and we are closer to test running it. That’s the plan for May, helping to get the layouts operating again. So that’s the plan. Looks like at least 2 days a week helping elsewhere

Enjoy the day

But, since it won't connect to my phone via the hotspot or BT, I think the camera is faulty.

I think it’s a Sony thing and I’m trying to remember what I had to do with my Sony alpha 6300. It didn’t connect to a hot spot or anything but I eventually got it connected to the phone IIRC. This was several years ago and I’m stretching my brain.

They have some custom protocol or something they run.

That would be helpful if you could remember. The guy I was working with said that his camera connects without issue, but I don't know what he has. I will be trying to return it tomorrow and hope the replacement works better, if they allow me to return it.

Good Morning All. Hazy and 76°, mid-80's today with severe thunderstorms predicted. Two waves predicted, one around 0900 and the second around 1600. The first is currently just SW of Wichita Falls but it appears to be on a track to pass by north of us in southern Oklahoma. But one never knows about these things. Tomorrow, we're supposed to get a cool front with highs only in the 60's for 4 days.

Sure enough if it does rain here, it will start about the time that we're headed out for a visit with the PCP, 45 miles away. The only available appointment was at 10:30, so that spoils the entire morning. I'm supposed to be fasting. Weather will determine the rest of my day.
Usual household duties yesterday, mainly laundry and dicing up a pork shoulder for overnight dry marinating; to put in the crockpot today for Carnitas. That and dicing up the other ingredients took over an hour.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I did a little more ground cover in the neighborhood. I can see the end is very close. One more house. That's all for now. I didn't start with the structure cleaning over on the other side of the divide yet.

Crappy steaks I just use A1 and good steaks I don’t use anything
Why buy crappy steaks to begin with???

Everybody have a safe and dry Tuesday.
