Good Morning All. Mostly cloudy and 73°, a warm start for the day. Supposed to reach 93° later when the clouds clear, then thunderstorms tomorrow. Cool front hits Wednesday with highs only in the 60's for a few days. Spring time in North Central Texas.
Not much to report on from here yesterday, as church takes out a good chunk of time. The usual Sunday bed linen laundry and a session with the weedeater. One downside of owning a hunk of land is maintenance. Takes a lot of time in the Spring. However the hayfield is growing well this year. Neighbor's wheat field looks good as well.
Nothing special on tap for today, might rain tomorrow so I'll tie up loose ends in the garden, if any.
Out in the train shed yesterday, I planted a few more trees on the layout. It was a short day as most Sundays are. I cleared the workbench somewhat so I could start cleaning and rehabbing the structures that I will be removing from the current layout clean-up area.
Michael - That storm NW of Ft Worth (and SW of me) on Saturday night was really something. That's part of the one that was headed for me that split just before getting here. Some damage north of here along the Oklahoma border but not nearly as severe. I was watching closely on the radar. Funny but fortunate thing that we got no wind at all even though the fringes were as close as 5 miles to my location.
Re: the layout. I hope to get 25-30 trees scattered about on that portion of the layout. I admit to being horrible about making my own, but I have a few that I made plus a bunch that I acquired from
Chet when he dismantled his layout. I have also since found some relatively good pre-made ones.
Swal - Looks like Murphy is a keeper.
David (Marlin) - I have watched as they remove trees for a subdivision, then either the homeowner or builder goes back and plants more!
Kusojiji -
I mix ketchup, mayo, mustard and pickle relish up and make my own secret sauce for burgers and dogs.
Can you taste the meat???
Condiments - Simple here. As I told my wife when she made my brown-bag lunch every day for work: Red meat, ham, bologna, salami, liverwurst; and hot dogs at home gets mustard. Brown meat or white meat, turkey, roast beef, chicken (and hamburgers) gets mayonnaise. Ketchup only goes on fried potatoes; tater-tots, hash browns or french fries. She uses ketchup on a lot of other things herself, almost to the point of being a major food group.
Everyone have a great Monday.
